I was told by a friend that J&S was great. I had them come and install a new furnace, and A/C unit…read more(whole new HVAC system) and they were great worked quick and efficient had the system up and operational in no time. Moving forward one year, called because the new A/C unit was freezing over. Paid them to come out and what was the problem? Low refrigerant. How is this it is a new system I asked. "Sometimes it happens" was the response I got and I was told that everything looked fine with the system and I was reassured that it would work moving forward. Paid them $450 in total to refill the refrigerant. Going forward 3 months A/C stopped working again, unit completely frozen over again! Called back for assistance and they were occupied and unable to assist me. So I called around and had Impact heating and cooling come out to take a look at the A/C unit. Sure enough low refrigerant again! I ended up paying Impact an additional $535. So $985 in a three month span because of low refrigerant. Impact told me that the refill valve on the A/C unit was leaking and he let me know that he put in some "stop leak" in the unit that should fix the problem. Guess what??? It has not. I have reached out on a number of occasions at this point to J&S and I get no response. I wish them well but not going with them anymore and I would not recommend them.

After the second call I received a text message from them asking to make an appointment that way. That should have been my first red flag but I went ahead and scheduled the appointment anyway. Fast forward 2 weeks to the day of the appointment. Nick shows up only prepared to service the heat pump. When I informed him I had scheduled a duct cleaning as well he initially told me the duct cleaning wasn't on his work order then a few minutes later his story changed to our duct cleaning machine is broken. Because I wanted both done he said it would be better to reschedule so both could be done at the same time, which I agreed to. This was 3 pm on a friday so he said someone would get a hold of me early next week to reschedule which was fine with me. Sunday afternoon I received an automated text message from them indicating they had rescheduled the appointment for 8am on a random Wednesday. To be clear no one ever called me to reschedule the appointment they just scheduled it without talking to me to see if that day and time worked for me. As my wife and I both work nights it did not work for me. So since they seem to have a problem with communication and they like to waste their customers time I decided to return the favor and let them show up at 8 am on a random Wednesday and waste their time as well because the wife and I were staring at the inside of our eyelids and didn't answer the door. I can't say if they do good work or not but their office personnel are an absolute joke.

We really appreciated his low key approach. He really heard us, rather than trying to sell us, and patiently answered all of our questions. Next came Ed, who prepared all of the calculations, list of supplies, etc. that would be needed by the installers to efficiently do their work with no snafus or need to leave for supplies. He also patiently answered all our questions. Based on Scott's recommendation, we decided to have our ducts cleaned prior to installation and he set up an appointment with Oregon Duct Cleaning to do so. ODC was a great recommendation and we're very happy with the job they did. They too, patiently answered all our questions. Finally, Mike and Mitch did the installation. We hit the jackpot with those two. What a GREAT team! They were professional, tidy, patiently answered all our questions, and obviously took pride in the quality of their work and the quality of the Lennox products they installed. Mike went a step further and went into a VERY tight portion of the crawl space (he literally had to shimmy in and out) where he discovered a major section of the ductwork had not been properly installed. He fixed that and thoroughly sealed the ducts to the vents. We are so grateful to him for going that extra mile as the problem wasn't visible until he got inside the area. I called back after not hearing for a while. This was happening during spring when it was still cold. Finally someone responded to my calls that they had no parts and I'd have to change it altogether. When I was finally told they could not fix it, I sent them a check for the full amount for the second service call. Now months later, I received an invoice in the mail for 49 cents. I called to see what was up. The lady who answered the phone said it was the interest for late payment. Mind you this is the first invoice I received since I sent the full payment. I reminded her I waited to pay based on their advice. And it would cost more to mail a check with stamp being more expensive: she basically said I could pay over the phone to her (which I don't like giving my cc info to people directly) or mail it. I will mail it but will never do business with them. After years of being a customer, $0.49 will be the value of service I received.
