We have been to this Lovely gem of a restaurant only twice. First time was a beautiful day and we sat outside on the rooftop dining deck, our view of the Marina was peaceful. my boyfriend and I came here based off of a recommendation. we put in our name for outside around 2:10 and we were told that the wait was about 25-30 minutes- no problem. around 3:10 we were wondering about how much longer the wait was- we had been standing out front in plain sight the whole time. the hostess let us know that she had tried to call us and we informed her that we didn't get a call (as I said, we were in plain sight the whole time) and she said that was no problem and she would move us to be up next. she then proceeded to seat multiple large groups after she said we'd be up next. someone else approached the hostess and said they'd been waiting an hour and fifteen minutes and the hostess said she tried to call them as well. clearly their phone isn't working if multiple people aren't getting their calls. she immediately was able to offer them a seat, but still not us. they had a dog so they couldn't sit on the upper deck so they decided to cancel after waiting so long. they still didn't offer the upper deck seat to us at this point. at 3:30 we again questioned the status of our seat and someone else that works here overheard our seating issue and miraculously they were able to seat us right away. this is the worst service I have ever seen from TWO hostesses working together to get people seated. we definitely will not be back based off of that experience alone- are we invisible ?? we were basically the only ones waiting at that time. read more

After receiving terrible service at another restaurant it was a breath of fresh air to visit The Point their food was excellent but best of all their service was impeccable that people were very very personable especially Debbie she was our server she was amazing food was just as amazing we wish we were from this area we would make it our regular spot can't wait to visit again in the future highly recommend this place. read more

This place is amazing. The seafood casserole is the best I've ever had. The vegetable side dishes are delicious and fresh. I recommend ordering the tomato basil side dish; it's so good! The fried seafood on the fisherman's platter is perfectly cooked and fresh. If you like chocolate cake, you'll love the chocolate lava cake dessert. Tried for the first time this week. My mum and I went for lunch and got the lobster BLT. It was delicious and so fresh. The service was great, I think our waitress was named Amy. She was friendly but not pushy. Sat outside and had a great experience. We will definitely be back!!! read more

Just had a wonderful lunch at The Point where we ate upstairs. The Bloody Mary's were very good. The two of us shared the calamari appetizer which was enough for four! Excellent, lightly battered. The fried clam roll had plenty of whole belly clams that were perfectly prepared. The chicken Quesadilla had very light crust... delicious filling. Kudos to Kyle the bartender/ server. It was busy but he kept checking to be sure we were happy. We will definitely return! read more

This is a new hidden gem. The baked haddock was delicious, their onion rings are superb and the tomatoes mozzarella salad was phenomenal. They are dog friendly on the out door patio and the staff is extremely friendly. We will definitely be back. read more

Very tempted NOT to add my opinion to the already fabulous reviews in fear that in the future we wont be able to 'get in' because of the crowds of smart diners or they might alter the fantastic menu! We started with the delectable plump fried oysters with a fantastic remoulade (that i wrapped and put in my purse) ...i think paprika is their secret addition?? We then split the reuben and surf-n-turf hamburger. The lobster on-top of the perfectly cooked burger was sweet and plentiful (what a genius combo).. The reuben melted in your mouth sooo fast...that i was tempted to order another. The onion rings....woweeee....lets not forget we started with The Point Bloody Mary. The BEST blood mary we have ever had. Topped with a whole slice of bacon, a spiced fat shrimp, two ping pong ball sized olives, juicy citrus and a crisp celery stick, the salt/spice rim was a joy to keep taking licks... It remained icey cold until the last gulp! We finished with a most summery beachy cocktail....there are many to choose from. We were disappointed tonight. The service was very slow. One table complained because they had not gotten their food. They had ordered before us and we were finished. Manager said waitress is very busy. I guess he should have been helping her. No one came to ask how our food was. We had to get up and ask for check. The food was good but we got our salads and entree at same time. Hopefully it will get better. Love the location. read more

I didn't want to review The Point Because i love it so much and want to keep it a secret! But...love to support local awesome business so here goes! Food is great. Good portions and big selection so plenty of options. Love all the seafood and last week had the fish tacos that were awesome! The week before i went w my husband. Our seating was on the top deck in the shade. They moved us into the sun to watch the sunset and even gave us blankets as the evening chill settled in. It was my first time ordering take out from this restaurant and I'm definitely not that thrilled about it. The food was so mediocre for the amount of money I spent... the mozzarella sticks were like those frozen ones you get at the store but I could buy a whole bag for the amount I paid on about 6 of them or so. My turkey gobbler sandwich was okay, the stuffing was the best part, but the turkey was dry and not tasty, the onion rings I got with them were soggy and I'm pretty sure I ate one that was a piece of seafood instead of an onion.... Just discovered this hidden gem. Located in Brantrock it is a decent drive for most but totally worth it. Have consistently read good reviews and gave them a try approx 1 month ago. Have been back approx 6 times now and finally writing a review. Every experience has been about the same ( consistent ) Quality food at a reasonable price, definitely recommend the seafood especially the scallops. Service is slow at times but with a nice relaxing outdoor atmosphere overlooking the water it's ok. Nothing fancy, good good solid food for a reasonable price. We went here with my boyfriend's uncle and aunt and we were treated very nicely. Ally was our waitress she was very sweet paid attention to us but wasn't annoying like at some places where they bother you. We sat outside and usually by the ocean there are seagulls and a mess but not here! It was perfectly landscaped and so clean! The food was perfect! I had the haddock and it was cooked to perfection! It was cooked in butter so it tasted sweet but not over powering the taste of the food. Oh! I almost forgot we had the calamari for an appetizer and it was fresh tasting not rubbery at all! I'm disappointed that I can only give The Point 3 stars. It used to be one of our favorite spots. When it's good, it's good and when it's not great, it's really not great. I'm wondering if they are having trouble keeping up with the busy season - it's always packed. Their wings are really good (when they don't run out).. They don't have craft beers, I didn't love the lobster roll the last time I got it. Their location is great but the overall space could be updated. I have visited five times since June. The food is fresh and delicious. The drinks are great. I usually go to Plymouth waterfront restaurants but find over the years they really don't want my business. The Point has the best view around. Great food. Nothing great, just fried seafood, not large portions and kind of expensive for plain old fried fish. Wow! I loved this place so much I did not want to leave. The location is great. The patio offers amazing views. They are friendly and do their best to accommodate any dietary needs. The Point has a very local feel and is highly relaxed. The service we received was excellent, attentive, and on their game. The special golden buffalo wings had a unique and desirable flavor. The baked haddock and fish and chips tasted extremely fresh and were perfectly cooked. If you are in the south shore area, I would make an effort to stop here. read more

Interesting location and unique restaurant with small dining room on lower level plus upstairs bar with high top table seating. They also have outside deck seating but cool rainy night. Reviews under the Cloud of Covid19 are a little different than normal reviews. We don't have typical elements to measure (Atmosphere, waitstaff, Bartender, Drinks, etc..). But that doesn't mean I can't review based on my EXPERIENCE in the moment. in an effort to get out of the house, and happy to just stare at the Ocean we ventured to Marshfield last weekend. Sitting in the car and looking down at the ocean, we thought, one more slice of normal would really help here. So using Yelp we found THE POINT. Pulled up the menu, and called to order a couple of Lobster rolls. We drive the 1 mile over to pick them up. Park, roll down the window and we are quickly greeted by a masked woman, who in spite of the mask, you could tell was smiling. She maintained her distance, asked our name, and quickly returned with our order. She thanked us more than once for stopping by, and off we went. We returned to our perch over looking the ocean and proceeded have the BEST Lobster Roll we have ever had. In these tough times, simple pleasures mean a lot. And add to that people that appreciate your business and it was a fantastic experience. So why Four stars? I am holding the last one for when life returns to normal, and I can get inside the POINT for the full experience. read more

Read the yelp reviews after driving by the other day. Never knew this place existed. Took the family there tonight and it was fantastic! Nice setting overlooking the boats in the harbor. You can choose outside on the deck if the weather permits. Food was excellent. (16 year old gave it a 9 and 12 year old gave it an 11 out of 10!). Clam chowder is fantastic as was Caesar salad. Fried clams were huge and fresh with ample portion. Lobster casserole reminded me of the Hilltop lobster pie. If you get it, ask for drawn butter on the side. Steak tips for my son were inhaled. And if you order desert, the chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream was so good we ordered a second one. Never done that before! Overall, a great find and a hidden gem for us.
