Another season begins. Friendly service with a smile. Outdoor seating. Picked up our go to, fried scallops, fried clams with belly and regular size lobster rolls. Perfectly prepared, tasty and absolutely delicious as usual! Best on the South Shore. Highly recommend. Will be back soon.

Came here for lunch - what a great spot! Close to the beach, friendly service, and the lobster was so fresh! You could literally see the lobsters that came off the boat that morning. The bun was delicious as well. Split this between two people - so much food! Sat on the patio which was clean and appreciated the shade. Will definitely need to find an excuse to return!

Lots of chopped imitation crab in these rolls . I won't be back

I won't risk it again . I know lobster really well . Unfortunately this roll was filled with imitation crab . They should stop this practice asap

Large chunks of lobster on a buttery grilled roll made this a perfect lobster roll. The crispy sweet potato fries were an added bonus. The only negative was the long wait because each order is individually made.

A lovely spot for lunch by the water. Stopped by for some clam chowder on a cloudy afternoon. The bowl was about $8.50 after tax and they only accept cash (atm inside). The chowder was the perfect temp, creamy, and flavorful. Just steps away from the beach this is a great option for some fresh seafood. 9.1/10

Cash Only!!! Order ahead your lobster roll to have ready for you after a day at the beach! The jumbo lobster roll was stuffed! We got two jumbo rolls and an extra roll to split between 3 of us and it was plenty! The fries were also amazing! Market price for the jumbo roll was $49.95 and worth every penny! Enjoy your roll out back on one for the colorful picnic tables by the water.

Friendly service and quick at that! We went on Memorial Day around 11:30am. Got nights, hotdog and fries for the kids then a large lobster roll and small fried shrimp. Everything was delicious!!!

First time we've made it to opening day (April 1st) and it did not disappoint. They've added a beautiful and innovative pergola style dining area just outside the doorway. The area is heated, has louvered roof slats that can close during inclement weather, and has LED lighting that can be adjusted (color and light level). A wonderful addition and certainly welcome during those sporadic times when showers pass through. Food was fresh and well prepared. Staff was attentive and took great care of everyone. So nice to see so many familiar faces (staff and guests). Looking forward to the 2026 season.

Anyway they always aim to please.. doesn't get any better than that! Thank you to the entire staff!

When we entered, she introduced me to the young woman who greeted us and another woman, a waitress, who was standing beside her. My girlfriend introduced this waitress by telling us "she called me the n-word to my face". I was surprised and did not know how to react. This woman responded with "that was a joke". No apology, but an acknowledgement that she did actually say it. There is no context in which it is ok for her to use that word. There is no situation in which it is ok for her to say that to a woman of color DINING AND SPENDING MONEY IN YOUR RESTAURANT. There are many ways that a person can address the fact that they've said bad things in the past. "That was a joke"is not one of them. It's certainly not how it should be handled at work. There was no dispute that she said it. "You are a n*****." When called out, she said it was a joke. She did not say "I'm so sorry, I still feel awful", or "I'm so sorry I upset you", or even "I would never say that". Instead, she defended herself and her words by claiming it was a joke. It's not a joke and it never was. By saying that, she was letting me know that, while at work, there ARE acceptable uses for the n word. There are not. Do I need to say that I don't want to eat at a place where I might hear racial slurs? The waitress did not deny that she said it and she did not apologize. She defended herself and justified it. Saying it is disgusting and justifying it is disgusting. I have no suggestion for how to resolve this. Your waitress could have simply acknowledged that it is always wrong. Instead she chose to blame my girlfriend for taking it personally and not "getting the joke". Please clarify your position on when it is, and is not, ok for your staff to use racial slurs. If you think "it was a joke" makes it ok to look right at someone say "you're a n*****", you are wrong. It is indefensible. Allowing and defending this behavior is disgusting. Please take some action to show you understand.

I have eaten here in the past for take out but there is a inside dining section which serves seafood and other items beach fast food items like quesadillas, sandwiches fries, etc. This time we actually sat inside which was primarily to be in the shade since it's been really hot out... 95°. Personally I wanted to eat outside but the hubby insisted. So the ambiance is shack casual... so casual where you have random fishing net lights, photos and signs that cover the walls with picnic tables, sandy sub flooring and humongous trash barrels between picnic tables and plastic pool chairs. We sat on plastic chairs in the square picnic table by the door to get some sea breeze. They have ceiling fans and screen porch windows in the front. Their silverware was plastic and take out paper plates. Now that I confirmed the beach shanty ambiance, here's the hilarious part.. Blakemans is literally on the beach that shares the changing room on the other side of building by the parking lot. Indoor showers are out of order and zero outside shower to rinse off. So, I am still wearing my beachwear which consists of a well padded bikini top and a fully covered bottom wrap. The host who seated us inside never mentions a dress code but once we ordered our food, our server sublimly said "do you have a shirt you could put on"...lol!!!! Look, I completely respect and understand what an appropriate dress code for dining in but if you looked at this place without any exaggeration, what I wore was completely fitting! Then again, I can understand that this is a private restaurant with dresscode but a) it was practically empty b) the families with babies are way in the back just in case they might have thought a bikini top was distracting ( I don't have huge boobs either) c) it's a beach shack...with plastic ware!!! Did I mention the gigantic trash barrels right next to us?? This is such a joke! Without hesitation I of course complied...I respectfully get it. I changed and wore a crochet netted long sleeve shirt over a bralette...hmmm. Now to the food... I ordered Pinot Grigio wine that arrived in a small bottle with a plastic dental cup hanging over on top that you get on airlines, hubby ordered beer and my daughter ordered a very sugary bottled lemonade...the one that you can dilute with a bottle of water and have two lemonades. We ordered the dozen oysters, a crab cake and the lobster rolls. The Powderpoint oysters were good except I'm surprised it wasn't Island Creek oysters which are actually close by and delicious... Figured they might do business with them. The lobster rolls were just okay. The portions were generous but the flavor was a little off for me. As much as I preferred melted butter on a lobster roll, these were traditionally made with mayo with pieces of celery but they had additional spices which isn't completely necessary if the meat is good and sweet. I eat a lot of lobster rolls and I found that this particular lobster meat on the dryer side with a lite chipotle sauce after taste. Our entrees were served with one small coleslaw which was absolutely horrible and tasted like tartar sauce and their curly fries which were ok. The crab cakes were pretty good and plumpy and I think they mixed a little corn in them. There was no dessert available to order in this fine establishment so no comment there. The service was a bit scattered. I thought we had only one server but they were various servers bringing our food and throwing away our leftovers to the arm length trash barrel. Everyone seem to be relatively polite and the majority of them were recent college students. The only time we saw our original server was at the end when she brought our bill. The eatery have only one unisex bathroom that is handicap accessible..no lock...only a hook...some kid tried to open the door after I yelled "there's somebody in here"...Can this moment get any better? So in conclusion I don't know if I would come come back for a dining experience. It's just not that "wait in line around the corner" place that it could potentially be. There needs to be a lot of changes with everything. I understand that this place has been here historically but things could use a wake up call and "get real" to bring more business...the place was practically empty inside.
