O & M Plumbing Services - Broken drain line in slab

O & M Plumbing Services

(135 reviews)

Exceptional O & Plumbing Service Experience…read more I highly recommend O & M Plumbing for any plumbing needs. In particular, Chris F. has consistently demonstrated exceptional skill and professionalism on every project of mine. His attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship set him apart as a truly outstanding plumber. Project Background I recently purchased an older home, full of charm and distinctive bathrooms. However, I encountered a leak in the master shower that required the p-trap under the shower drain to be replaced before new tile work could be completed. My concern was that reconnecting the new p-trap to the antique cast iron drains in the foundation might cause the cast iron to crumble. Chris F.'s Approach and Solutions Chris came to the rescue, using a camera down the drain to evaluate the situation. He explained the difference between what was probable and what was possible, providing two bids: one for the probable good case and one for the possible problem case. Having used Chris before with excellent results, I trusted his methods, which are always the least intrusive and focused on effective access. In the worst-case scenario, Chris would need to cut and excavate a 2' x 2' hole in the foundation around the shower drain, then tunnel no more than five feet under the foundation from that access point to secure a solid connection to the iron drainpipe. In the best-case scenario, he would only need to excavate a 2' x 2' hole around the shower drain to replace and secure the new p-trap. He also showed me pictures of his past work for reassurance. Successful Outcome Fortunately, the best-case and probable case prevailed. While fixing the p-trap, Chris also discovered an unrelated drain leak under the foundation, which he repaired at no extra charge. I felt I received excellent value for the service provided. Professionalism and Work Quality Chris left the work site clean, as he has always done in the past. He and his co-worker collaborated well, using a small and quiet jackhammer designed specifically for plumbing foundation work. The new drain looks beautiful, and I can confidently proceed with the new tile work, knowing that the unseen part of the shower is sound and affordable. Appreciation Thanks to O & M Plumbing for introducing me to Chris F. and Mike. Both are good and considerate professionals, and I am grateful to have them working in my home.

They clearly explained the issue and gave us two options: a quote to replace just the P-trap and a separate quote to replace all the pipes since the cast iron was corroding. What stood out was that there was absolutely no pressure to upsell. They took the time to answer questions and let us decide what made sense for our situation (we chose to replace all the pipes). They were responsive, courteous, and showed up on time. The work was done efficiently and professionally. A big shout-out to Andrew, Landen, and Ben--they were fantastic to work with and made the whole process smooth and stress-free. We'll definitely be using O&M Plumbing again and would highly recommend them.

He's a Certified Master…read morePlumber and hands down the most knowledgeable, reliable, and professional plumber we've ever worked with. Enrique immediately came and diagnosed a hot water heater leak that I only suspected and had it replaced within an hour -- even taking the time to drive out and get the part himself. The next morning, when a new flood appeared in the same spot, he came out on a Sunday and quickly discovered it was a completely unrelated leak from our main water entrance. (Back to back leaks? Toll Brothers developers are developing a huge area next to our street and have literally been geo-forming the earth--jack hammering through layers of karst that our homes are sitting on. We have seen emergency plumber trucks up and down our street lately...) Back to the good news! Because special adaptors were needed, the repair couldn't be completed that day -- but Enrique was back first thing Monday morning, crawling under an 18" space to replace half the distribution pipe connections. He explained every step, answered every question, and even gave great suggestions to improve our plumbing system long term. Professional, punctual, and exceptionally skilled -- Enrique goes above and beyond. Proven Plumbing & Air is lucky to have him, and we're lucky to have found him. Highest recommendation possible! I also want to give a special shout out to Yelp users for their excellent plumber recommendations! We couldn't have found Enrique with you, thank you!

Honestly the work is good...as it should be from a master plumber…read more The issue I have is the issue I've had with literally every plumber ever. They've got you over a barrel when they come out and start throwing parts. This was an install of a drop in kitchen sink and faucet. He told me his hourly rate was 135 bucks. I was expecting to spend about 400 maybe 500. The final bill was 850. I feel I was overcharged on both the parts and labor. He charged me starting 45 min before he got there but still included a "truck charge." The removal and replace of the sink took 2 hours. To me the "clock" starts on the labor at the agreed upon arrival time. When I'm getting charged 439(!) bucks for parts on top of the sink and faucet itself, that extra charge for labor is quite unwelcome. I mean the sink and faucet itself that were "nice" were like 500 bucks. So almost that again just in parts. ‍ His answer in general as I look at these reviews is that he buys his parts from a plumber supply not Home Depot etc. I would have to research each individual part to see if its price point is "fair". A perusal of solid brass fittings and pvc p traps on the Lowe's site shows the price I paid was about doubled. He acted quite insulted that I wouldn't know just how much better his parts were and implied they were all but unavailable at big box stores. literally doubling what I expected to pay was quite a shock to say the least. It is what it is. If I was able to do it myself, I would've. Live and learn Learn a trade kids lol

From my initial interaction with the office representatives (Taylor, Dave Sr., and Dave Jr.) to the technicians who came out to my home (Nick, Jackie, and John Paul), the level of professionalism and care was outstanding. Just as importantly, they took the time to clearly explain areas that were not a concern and documented a thorough review outlining why those aspects of the home were in good condition, information that will be extremely valuable for future home inspections or potential buyers. Each team member was knowledgeable, responsive, and thorough in addressing my concerns, making what could have been a stressful situation feel manageable and well-handled. He charged $675 to fill coolant and run a leakage test when he knew there was a 90% chance beforehand my evaporator coil was leaking and it would not be worth replacing the evaporator coil for $4500. He only offered a $675 credit towards a new system after I complained. 2. When I texted him a question about the new system quotes last year, he ghosted. Yet he emailed me four days later asking if I was ready to purchase a $17k system. Four days to decide on a $17k system without answering questions or receive other bids is not enough time. He cares more about making the commission than answering questions. 3. Jon Paul kept pushing the top of the line variable Daikin for $17k. Yet Shields AC & Heating in Lockhart said the DH7VSA compressor has a lot of firmware and software bugs communicating with the thermostat. Shields said it's not worth all the rebates and incentives. 4. Airco only offers a three year labor warranty through Airco. Yet they do not tell you that Daikin and Goodman offer an extended ten year labor warranty through Asure for $850. Daikin owns Goodman. 5. Jon Paul's quote did not include new return and supply plenum, unless he didn't specify. He only mentioned spraying the existing supply plenum with mold killer. 6. Jon Paul did not suggest moving the entire system 3 - 4 feet in the attic to reduce static pressure. Three other companies suggested moving the entire system. 7. When I asked Jon Paul what the difference was between the $17k variable Daikin and $15k variable Daikin, his response was, "More features and stuff." I need someone more articulate. 8. Jon Paul did not run a Manual J test. Ultimately, we ended up paying $12.1k with Jurnee Mechanical for a variable Goodman GXV6S condenser which included new return and supply plenum, moving the entire system 3 - 4 feet in the attic, 10 year extended labor warranty through Trinity, free maintenance for two years, and Reme Halo UV light.

I had the extreme misfortune of hiring this company. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE! I can't say if…read morethey did their plumbing job right, because I can't see under my house, and I am not a plumber, but I seriously doubt it based on how badly they do literally everything else after you sign on the dotted line. What I can say with absolute certainty is that they were unethical, abusive, dishonest, and disrespectful to both my property and me. I paid them 10,000 for a job, and I trusted that they would do a good job, because my home maintenance company recommended them. Boy, was I wrong! They had to dig a hole in my garden, which was part of the job, but they did so by causing absolute devastation to a much larger area around it. When I expressed concern about my plants, they assured me that they were saving them and setting them aside. But they did not do that. Instead, while they could have put the excavated soil a few feet to one side, where there were no plants, they put it on top of plants, all but one of which are gone now. There assured me that they would replant the plants, but they did not. They apparently threw away all of the plants, except a couple, which were either broken or half-ass replanted. The only replanted one still had all of its roots exposed, so it probably will not survive, and it was stuck into the hole where another plant had been. You can even see the hole where it used to be, now empty. They then told me that there had been no plants there. They lied straight to my face. An "I'm sorry" would have helped, but they just lied instead. I take a lot of pride and joy in my garden, but I would probably have been okay if they had expressed even a scintilla of remorse or sympathy, but no...they were abusive and dismissive and LIED TO MY FACE instead. I was outside assessing the damage after they left, and a neighbor actually came over to express their sympathy, because, as she said, they know how much time and energy I spend on my garden. Now, understand that I am not saying that you should care about my garden, but you should always care when a company is abusive and unprofessional and wantonly destructive, which Plumb and Order absolutely is. Use literally any other company. These people are truly dreadful and do not deserve your business. Edited: You are gaslighting and continuing to lie AND posting about a private medical condition. It's not "a couple of plants," and they did not even make the slightest effort to preserve or save ANYTHING. You come on here like you're some good guy, when you are totally the opposite of that. I had to let my father take over dealing with you, because your abuse and lying was affecting my health. THAT is how bad you are to work with. You are the worst stereotype of a disreputable business that bullies and badgers and browbeats women when they have them as customers, and THAT is why I deferred to my father instead of wasting my time and energy with you. I don'f believe for a second that you did a good job, but that'll have to be a problem for the future. As I said in my review, it's not about the garden. You NEVER apologized. You THREATENED instead. It's not even about the MANY plants (1-2 is not even close). You just keep lying.
