We came on Saturday for college football, love the vibes. We wanted to order every starter, fries are a must, and the Caesar is fresh and delicious. No croutojs but crispy breadcrumbs and shredded parm. So good!

We had the Turkey club and blacked chicken BLAT (added cheese per bartenders recommendation). So yummy and great service!

The playwright is back and better than ever. I was quite impressed with the food, especially the Alabama white wings. The truffle fries with their aioli was also delicious. Our server was very friendly and helped us with his favorites from the menu. The ambiance of this restaurant is very well put together with a fun theme and plenty of TVs for game day. If in the southie area, definitely stop by!!

This was such a disappointment. We made a reservation for 2:15 on a Saturday and we're able to sit outside. Our server took forever to come over. We ordered a mimosa tower, water and put our food order in. It took an hour and for us to get WATER. WATER. The server told us that all the cups were in the dishwasher. The table behind us got water right away. Once the table behind us got water it took at least another 20 minutes to get water. The food was okay my friend and I split nachos. There wasn't a lot of cheese on it. My boyfriend got the breakfast burrito and said it came with Greek yogurt instead of sour cream. My friends and I also split the grapefruit mimosa tower but I would not recommend. My friend got a coke in the smallest glass possible. She asked for a refill and did not got a refill and was charged for 2 cokes which didn't make sense because It was free refills for sodas. She said since she already paid she couldn't refund our card so she gave my friend $3 in cash. All in all I would not go back here again it was not a fun experience. The server was not apologetic about the delay or mistakes which made it worse.

Tables next to us were getting cutlery but even after we asked we only got disposable cutlery; such a waste!

Brunch is supposed to be a fun experience in a nice atmosphere - not here. Our waitress was not professional at al or even friendly. When we finished putting our food and drinks order in, she didn't even acknowledge us, she just walked away, leaving my friends and I confused. We all asked for waters, which we didn't get until AFTER we finished eating. The excuse? all the cups were in the dishwasher, allegedly - the table next to us got waters right after our waitress said this, and it took us another 20 mins to get our waters. They were apparently all out of cutlery, but only for our table; while tables near us got napkins and cutlery, we were brought plastic cutlery that couldn't even hold a pancake. The food was fine, but honestly the terrible service and the lack of water made it a miserable experience. Two of my friends got the nachos, which were fine but mostly just chips and definitely lacking on toppings. My other friends shared the breakfast burrito. The presentation was horrible; it didnt even come cut in half and they just threw it on a plate with no sides. They also said that even though it was grilled, the burrito was cold, and instead of sour cream, they got greek yoghurt. My boyfriend and I shared the pancakes and chicken and waffles. Both were fine, but we had to ask for syrup for the pancakes, even though the menu clearly described syrup came with it. We asked for an additional plate for sharing from the beginning, which we had to keep asking for, and got when the food was already cold. If that wasn't enough, my friend asked for a coke, which, btw, is free refills. It came in the smallest glass possible, she never got a refill when she asked for one, and then got charged for 2 cokes! Just incredibly an incredibly messy, unpleasant and all around dissatisfying experience. There are MANY other good brunch places in the area to try instead of wasting your time and money here. No wonder this business is marked as "unclaimed" on yelp!

Service was almost impressively bad. The one star goes only to the food, which was decent. We sat at the bar at 7PM on a Wednesday (not super busy) & in 2.5 hours, we were only able to put in an order of nachos & 2 rounds of drinks--we were ignored for large chunks of time. We wanted to order entrees, but were ignored for 45 minutes so just decided to close out. And I mean IGNORED. We made eye contact & signaled to the bartenders & would say "excuse me" whenever they walked past us but they would look at us & keep walking. It was actually crazy. I haven't made a yelp review in years but had to because of how bizarre it was. I'm shocked. Like seriously, it was so awful I'm pretty convinced that the restaurant's gimmick is ignoring people (like how they're mean to you at Dick's Last Resort). My boyfriend just called it the worst service in Boston. Also want to add that we noticed the same behavior towards the majority of the other patrons at the bar--there were maybe 2-3 people that the bartenders actually regularly attended to. Picture of nachos below because that's the only thing we were allowed to eat.

    Croque Madame

The theatre geek in me was drawn to the name. What do you mean that's not how people choose brunch locations? Parking is hard to find. Be prepared to park and walk. Lock your car and hide valuables. Just a thought: Put your friendliest host/ess to welcome patrons. The host wasn't horrible but I got the feeling that I was inconveniencing him by asking to be seated. The waitstaff and servers were friendly friendly and attentive. The brunch menu was small and manageable. I got the Croque Madame with a side of sausage and avocado, and a boozy iced coffee. If you're a lightweight forgo the boozy iced coffee you might not be able to get up and down the rolling inclines of this Southie neighborhood. (Opinion may or may not be based on actual events). The vanilla vodka, Irish cream, cold brew coffee and whipped cream was an absolute delight. The Croque Madame was a combination of sweet and savory that left me feeling satisfied that this was my #cheatday choice. This dish is a Belgian waffle stack with béchamel sauce, honey ham, cheese and topped with a fried egg (that I wished was a bit runnier). Forkfuls of this genius combination dipped in maple syrup was a recovering fat kid's dream. It would be four stars but my welcome didn't feel like a welcome and I would have gone elsewhere had it not taken 20 minutes to find parking.

The pork chop was cooked perfectly, had a good sear/crust was juicy, really my favorite. The chicken was also delicious well, not dry and seasoned well. But the food is just ok. The 3 of us ordered 2 pastas (one entree size, one app size), and 4 or 5 apps and nothing was impressive. The pappardelle w bolognese was the highlight for me. The lemon ricotta ravioli was borderline cold by the time I cut into it which was really odd. The mozzarella was forgettable, but the pork belly was solid. The scallops that were on special were the itty bitty kind and just ok - mostly overwhelmed by whatever breading they were covered in. The best part was probably the deserts - I had the creamy Nutella something or other - and was really upset when I got to the airport in the morning and realized I left it in the hotel fridge /sad face. Crème brûlée was on point. If nothing else, their pastry chef is 100 on the land/sea/sky.

The American breakfast was also tasty, I was shocked by the size they gave so much food. The star of the meal was the French toast! But we already had like 3 dinners planned that night lol so this was more like a "stop by and eat as much oysters as possible" situation. Honestly I'm pretty sure the other food here is just as good, based on what I saw on other tables. Definitely coming back next time I'm in Boston.

(I'm certain the staff are aware that many of their diners express shock, once the price is disclosed...) Many folks simply make an assumption or a guesstimate, as to the price, when they see 'MP' on a menu, and this is usually based upon their prior experiences, ordering such a menu item. So, for example, I was thinking the lobster roll might be in the $40-45 range. So imagine my utter shock, when we received the bill, to see a charge for $69?? I have never in my life had such an expensive lobster roll. Yes, it was delicious, and the housemade potato chips were also great. The slaw was also good (though it was a very tiny amount...I would have liked more). But boy, did that price shock me. I would normally never have voluntarily ordered a $69 lobster roll. It simply never would have occurred to me, that a place would ever charge that much....

The reservation process was easy and a group of 5 was easily accommodated on the day and time requested. We arrived together after a short walk from the office. Bonus points to Moooo for not only having complimentary coat check, but also safe bag storage knowing much of their clientele on a weeknight is in transit from the office to home. Please people, don't forget to tip the coat check girls, it is only the right thing to do. Seated at our table the restaurant was initially fairly empty, but filled up nicely while we are already enjoying cocktails, wine, and appetizers. The long bar followed by tables of various sizes filled the restaurant, but it never was too loud and there was plenty of space between tables that you did not feel like you were sitting on top of each other or listening to their conversation more then the person across from your own table. Like most fine dining experiences, the complimentary rolls were served warm and lathered in melted butter. Sinful!. We ordered several appetizers for the table to share including tuna tartare which was very tasty and recommended. I also recommend the Japanese wagyu beef dumplings which were both delicate and savory. Lastly, the calamari was crispy and hot with the right amount of heat from the lemon and herb aioli. To accompany the entrees we ordered the broccolini, Yukon gold potatoes and the highly recommended tater tots. The only issue we had was with the tots which we collectively thought were both slightly over cooked and tasted "different". Said another way, I have never had a tater tot that didn't leave me wanting to eat them one after another until they were all gone, but this one was more than enough and more than 3/4 of the serving was left for the bus-person. Three of us ordered the 8oz Omaha filet which were cooked to perfection and delicious. Why is there not a 12 oz offering like most steak houses? Literally mine looked like it was 4 oz on the large, stark white plate when served. Thankfully being cooked to a perfect medium rare and accompanies by a bordelaise sauce which is also a rarity to find offered, was a treat. The prime New York sirloin and prime ribeye were equally cooked perfectly and delicious. We passed on dessert or after dinner drinks, but certainly enjoyed our visit. I had been craving fish tacos for a really long time, and I was delighted to find a whole section of the menu dedicated to them. We started off with margaritas - one of the best companions to fish tacos - and I ordered mine spicy with jalapeño. For food, we shared the lobster empanadas and chorizo and potato taquitos. I ordered the tempura fish tacos for myself. Our margaritas were brought out shortly - mine was refreshing but lacked the kick from the jalapeño that I was hoping for (there was only one thin slice of pepper). Our food was brought out shortly, and I found it a bit overwhelming when our appetizers and tacos came out together. I started with my tacos, and these were excellent. The fish was flaky and fried to perfection, and I loved the rainbow of sauces and toppings. Plus, the tortillas were nice and sturdy and didn't tear. The lobster empanadas were super decadent, and I appreciated the substantial amount of lobster stuffed inside. I was too full to eat much of the taquitos but took a few bites. These also had good flavor but weren't standouts. Next time, I'd just get the tacos and maybe a light app. Towards the end of our visit, the restaurant seemed to clear out, and we had a difficult time trying to locate our server for the bill. The Seaport space is just as stunning--decked out in pink, super aesthetic, and definitely a fun, photo-worthy vibe. Unfortunately, the experience didn't quite live up to expectations. It didn't taste fresh and came across more like artificial jalapeño flavoring rather than real infusion--and it wasn't spicy at all. For food, we ordered a variety of small plates to share. Everything was decent, but nothing really stood out. It felt a bit underwhelming compared to the atmosphere. The biggest issue was the service. It was very slow throughout the night, and getting the check was especially frustrating--it took about 30 minutes, and we had to ask multiple times before finally receiving it. Overall, the ambiance is beautiful and perfect for a celebration, but the drinks and service didn't match the vibe. Hoping this was just an off night.
