I ordered lavender rosemary latte but my coffee came as plain latte. The tall girl with short colorful hair is weird as if she has something against you! The food was even worse. My salad was full of wilted vegetables, and the bacon and potatoes were cold, hard, and clearly cooked hours ago. To top it off, the plates have deep grooves that make it impossible to eat--ketchup and egg yolks get stuck in the grooves. I genuinely worried about the material's safety. If you want to help people, start by serving fresh, safe food. I wouldn't be surprised if that salad was a health hazard. I just wasted over $30 for a very low quality food. Also, all the great looking food in the photos on yelp, on not served any longer.

Truly an incredible spot for families with little ones, but also just enchanting for anyone who loves plants, decor, or cozy vibes. The plant selection is massive, the seasonal decor is stunning, and the gift shop?? Dangerous. I wanted one of everything. On top of all that, they have a café on site with drinks and food, which makes it way too easy to linger longer than planned (no regrets). Swanson's is one of those rare places that feels like a destination, not just a store. An absolute gem & I'm obsessed.

It was great to hear that they had personal experience with using the products in stock. I have had great success repotting! Their indoor gardening area is a huge greenhouse and there are different plants being offered for sale every time I've visited. I had my eye on a plant and was on the fence about buying...and the next time I visited they were all sold out! They do restock, but this nursery is popular so if you're undecided just buy the plant :) They have a small cafe area which I haven't tried yet, but looks fairly popular with people bringing their dogs to hang out too. There are quite a lot of events and classes related to gardening on their website. One that I'll probably be going to is the rotating tool sharpening by Northwest Sharpening Services - quite cheap at $4 per tool.

Went to the help desk, asked about specific plants. The staff person just pointed and said, "go in there" to the greenhouse. Went there, was told, we just sell houseplants in here, go outside through the automatic doors". Went outside, no one, not one person out there. We walked around for a bit, still no one. Gave up and decided we could find help online and at another nursery. The coffee shop. Great idea, poorly managed. Saw some senior group had taken all but two tables and a couple of chairs for their get together. I found two chairs against the wall for my mom and I, but no tables. Made our order, sandwich and egg bites- they are brought in prepackaged from an outside company. I had to walk back and forth from my chair to the coffee counter to check on our drinks and warmed up sandwiches. After 20 minutes, have one drink and cold sandwiches. Had to go back since they forgot a drink. We ate a few bites of our sandwiches- threw away the rest. No more interest in getting the order right. Also saw one of the staff people counting out cash onto the counter next to the coffee machine. Cash and coin I believe should not be placed on counter space next to food or drink prep?

I paid about 40% more for a tree, a one inch caliper hornbeam in a plastic pot. The tree had a little bit of leaf burn on its new growth, but I chalked that up to being root bound in a pot, so I purchased the tree. I was landscape contractor for years, I have planted hundreds of trees so I planted this tree giving it the best possible chance for survival. With regular watering the leaf burn continued to spread, even though I held off on fertilizing the tree, until it showed signs of some growth so I wouldn't burn it or shock it. Last week I pulled it out of the ground because it was completely dead, when I did there was zero root development. Anyway, I know from experience that sometimes new plants just die but when I was running a landscape construction I warranted every plant I ever sold to a customer. If a plant died within the first year, I would replace it. I could usually bring these plants back to the vendor and exchange them for a new one, but those were real nurseries like Gurneys or Molbaks. I called this nursery and explained what I've written above and they told me they couldn't help me, I even asked if they would just give me another tree and they declined. We live in a different world, where accountability and responsibility are foreign to a lot of people. I won't be going back to Urban And garden.

I…read moream one of those people who calls it Higo, before I will remember it is in fact Kobo now. Higo is the original shop owned and run by the Murakami family. This is one of the few businesses that survived the Executive Order 9066 written in 1942 with thanks to the non-Japanese friends of the family who owned businesses in the same building. Today, Kobo represents a new generation of local artists, selling gift items, crafts, tees, books, art, jewelry, and much more at varying level of prices. I highly recommend Kobo when shopping for unique gifts. When I recently visited, they had a glass artwork on display, art gallery style. It was also the yearly Nihonmachi celebration, and they had a table outside with an artist painting one of three designs on classic Japanese windchimes. I was thrilled to buy one of these adorable windchimes commonly featured in anime including Studio Ghibli movies. My mother picked up a really fun t-shirt from KOBO, and I found various gifts - including the Mari Ichimasu (a Seattle-based Japanese artist who works in stop-motion animation, painting, and drawing) book "Fur Coats & Backpacks", which includes the art of her collection of traveling cats & an accompanying poem for each cat. The perfect gift for my feline-loving friends. The staff were happy to let you browse through the store, and you can tell that they work to include items from the local art and design community while also carrying items with wider appeal. The prices may be a bit high? But I was less concerned with the cost of the items than I was on finding quality gifts - and KOBO has those in spades. I'd certainly recommend a visit.
