Wonderful Customer Service! I called and emailed several nurseries in the fall looking forward a specific house plant. No one had it but Zenith took my information and said they should have them in the spring. I never expected to hear from them again BUT they called. Let me know they had arrived, how big they were and the cost. When I went to pick them up I wondered the grounds and gift shop and they have a wonderful selection of indoor & outdoor plants, tools, accessories, and gift shop items. We have bought 3 truck and trailers worth over the last 2 weekends. We have visited just about every nursery in the Kent, Renton, Tukwila, Auburn, Federal Way area. Zenith Holland is now my favorite nursery I have found in South King County. Some other nursery's are bigger some have different plants that you will not find here, and you will want to buy some things from other nurseries like we did. BUT.... I would advise you to start here. I wish we would have gone here first, as now this is the last place we are going to, and will come back here first for more plants in a few weeks when they get more mid summer blooming perennials in. I have never seen Edelweiss for sale any where before how cool! Sorry we bought half of them but there might be some left. First they have a fantastic variety of Healthy Plants! Large for the pot but not root bound plants. The prices are either on par or lower than any of the other 9 places I have been to in the last few weeks. lots of plants were twice as big and 30% the cost of the other places we went. Most importantly great healthy plants! I was also told by the owner they are using organic fertilizers that will not be toxic to bees like most of the plants that nurseries get shipped in. Ask them to explain that. Its kind of important if you know about all the bee colony collapse that has been happening! Second the staff (Francine) & owner. Of all the places we went to, the people here were the most knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. That is saying a lot as most nurseries have nice people! wow, wow, wow! living in south seattle and contemplating gardening options for plants or other items always used to make me think of swansons or locations further north! no longer! i was down in des moines with friends who's mentioned this place and i urged us to stop in. if you're a gardener or a wanna be gardener or someone who knows a gardener and wants to find gifts or buy plants for your own space, this place has it all and the staff are so friendly and knowledgeable! the first thing you'll notice are the two spotted dogs who come running as greeters! they were both adorable and not at all intimidating. i couldn't get over how much space this nursery occupies and how many items and varieties are found therein. from ground over to house plants to succulents to seasonal holidays wreaths and christmas trees, this place is stocked! and with some unusual items that ended up going home with me. staff answered all my questions, provided tips for plant maintenance and success and were all wearing masks. the plethora of beautiful pots in all shapes and sizes was amazing and they also have fertilizer and almost any other item you could think of. this is going to be my new place for my pants come spring time. sad thing is i have months to wait but i'll be plotting my plant purchases in the meantime :) read more

Amazing nursery!!!! Great house plant selection and LOTS of rare plants :) Staff was so nice and talked to me the whole time I was there (also everyone was wearing a mask and it wasn't crazy crowded like so many nurseries can get!!) i literally could stay for hours!! And the staff also gave me a free size up plastic pot for my new tree when i mentioned i wanted to repot it into another nursery pot--literally walked me out to find a bigger nursery pot!!! I live just a block from this nursery and it's amazing how many people don't even know it exists. The back of it actually borders a residential street. I bought a number of plants here last year that I was not able to find at other nurseries and this is what brought me here the other day. I was looking for a dwarf red Japanese Maple, and although I'll probably be buying one in the spring, Eileen was really helpful and took the time to not only read the descriptions but also Google some of the species so that we would both be clear as far as how tall the tree grew and weather conditions it liked. It doesn't hurt that the nursery is in a beautiful setting and although smaller than some, has many beautiful and creative accoutrements throughout the gardens. read more

This nursery and its staff is AMAZING! My husband and I need to landscape our front and back yard but we both are not at all knowledgeable about plants. A friend recommended Zenith Holland to us, so we stopped by one Saturday afternoon and met an angel named Francine!!! She just so happened to have an available spot open to come over for a consultation that evening. Francine carefully listen to what we were hoping for and made some really wonderful suggestions. We loved all of her ideas and decided to go back the next day and load up on shrubs and flowers. I know squat about plants, so I bring in a photo to Rita and share a bit about the sun exposure. This nursery/garden store is amazing and so full of beautiful & healthy plants, pots, cute little knickknacks, friendly service and inspiring ideas that there is no need for me to go way east or north to Molbak's or Swanson's! I love that each "specialty" area is housed in a cozy cottage like or open air space that truly makes one feel like you've entered into a secret garden. Selection is huge, in fact I've been searching for weeks for an orange pot for my houseplant (Amazon, Wayfair, Home Depot, my local West Seattle nurseries, etc). and came up short. Today was "buy a car full of annuals and host as day" at Zenith. Asked the Mrs to pick out two mature hostas and she got 9. Ok, they were buy two get one free, so all is well. I have not been here for a few years and I was surprised at the new greenhouses and general orderliness of the place. They have really improved it. It's great to stroll around looking at the many varieties of annuals and perennials. Bonus points for the friendly help, too. A fellow was really great in finding the best hostas and check out was easy. We can't wait to get everything into the gardens and pots. read more

I bought at this nursery for the 1st time this year, in October 2019, I bought 2 sweet outdoor plants for my patio. Spent a lot of time talking to the main lady that loves to chat about how to care for the plants, 2 weeks later leaves fell off. OK, I guess I wasn't so careful with them as I should have been, but have long history of plants lasting a long time..so not sure why that happened. 10 days before Thanksgiving I bought a wreath, bought a liquid they ensured me would help the wreath last through Christmas by misting every other day. within a matter of days the small brown leaves and green needles kept falling off..I soaked the wreath twice a week in a tub of water, I misted it twice a day when I didn't soak it. I also bought a small tree that kept just fine through the Christmas holiday. The week before Christmas I had to throw out the wreath and buy another one, yes I went to the same place, it was close and I had friends coming into town. Its a cute wreath. When I went into the nursery to purchase the 2nd wreath, the same woman all of the sudden acted like she didn't speak or understand english. She could not have cared less that the wreath I bought was dead and unable to keep it hanging on the door, all she could say was, "well the man that makes the wreaths said people love the wreath when it is dry." then she told me not to forget to get a tree. OMG, never going back there again.....NEVER! Gave them 1 star, because YELP requires it! read more

This place is the best. I don't even live near the area, but I will never buy a living plant from anywhere else after all the great experiences I've had here. Healthy house plants are tough to find because a lot of retail stores don't have the time to take proper care of them. Not only are Zenith Holland's plants incredibly healthy and well taken care of, the employees are super knowledgeable on the individual plants and how to care for them too! They'll even talk you out of buying one if you don't have the proper care methods available for the plants. It's such a homey space and hard not to buy everything you see!
