Wonderful family run business, they are passionate about bonsai art and offer a full range of services including bonsai classes on location and various other nurseries. Deeply caring and truly knowledgeable, I encourage you to visit this family-run nursery and view their YouTube channel which is a wealth of information. Given the sheer amount of misinformation online, learning directly from the experts made common sense so I viewed their YT videos and bought a book from them to learn more on how how to keep a bonsai plant happy and healthy. If you purchase directly from them and you go on vacation or if there's something wrong with your plant, they encourage you to bring them in so they can take care of the plant for you before returning them back. Each plant is unique living thing, to see a nursery truly treat them and care for them that way goes beyond what I imagined. It was an absolute joy to talk bonsai with these good folks who clearly love what they do and do it for the plants not the money unlike 99% of nurseries out there. ***** update Sept 2019! My husband bought me a bonsai for Christmas 2017... a month after our 3 yr old daughter was diagnosed with cancer. We spent nights in hospital and I wasn't able to care for the bonsai very well, it got bugs and I didn't know what to do. I called Robert at Asia Pacific Gardening and he said bring it to them... they cared for our bonsai for 2 months... brought it home bug free. Still going through treatment with our daughter and it got bugs again... we brought it back to Asia Pacific Garden Center and without hesitation they took it in... this time it was with them for over 3 months, we finally brought it home, our daughter was now done with treatment and healing.... and our bonsai was healthy and blooming. It's doing so great now! We're all doing so great now! Just today I called the shop again, our bonsai is doing so great it's growing new shoots. Our bonsai was blown over in heavy winds and needed emergency repotting. Robert was so helpful in doing it right away and showing us how to take care of it ourselves in the future. Also suggested some artistic modifications and trimmed the tree. Our tree looks better than before the accident. The shop and huge greenhouse behind it are stocked with pots and trees to bonsai. Classes are available. And if you want to buy bonsai that are already in progress, large (for bonsai) beautiful trees, you can purchase from his extensive stock. Ran by husband and wife, I didn't catch their names unfortunately. They gave me a tour of all the bonsai trees, the different types, different sizes, information about their business, etc. I was intrigued about learning how they go into training, how old they are, how we can take care of them and train them at our own homes, etc. I appreciate them taking time and effort to go over everything so I know what I'm leaving with. They recommended different products like drip-trays, fertilizer, a book and more! They also mentioned that if we were to go on vacation, we could bring our bonsai tree back for them to take care of as a courtesy. Robert was great! I called on a Saturday, knowing they were closed to ask for an appointment. We scheduled it for Sunday at noon. I had wanted to build a bonsai for a dining table tray. I didn't know exactly what I wanted, but had some ideas in mind. When I showed up, Robert told me which bonsai to buy for my partial shaded window. He then gave me a couple of options that were just okay in my eyes. While walking around looking at the bonsai, Robert came up with a 3rd option - a sand/zen garden. I thought it was brilliant since it would be lower maintenance than a full bonsai tree. He then drew it all out on paper, to scale, and helped me design it with certain rocks and mini bonsai plants. Wanted to purchase a Bonsai tree as a Christmas gift for my parents! Was looking to purchase one online but was very skeptical about it. So I decided to look around my area to see if there were any shops around that would sell a Bonsai! Lucky enough, I found Asia Pacific Gardening. Robert was amazing when we stopped by to get a bonsai as a gift. He was very thorough, patient, and knowledgable as he led us through our bonsai choices until we found the perfect one for our needs. He explained details every step of the way and still gave us the space to explore on our own. Additionally, he takes care of his bonsais well after they leave his greenhouse and welcomes bringing it back to him any time you have questions, need a rehab, or even a place to watch over while you're away on vacation in the greenhouse. He is mainly a vendor to grocery stores, and nursery's but if you call he will allow you to take a first hand look and pick what you want. He has thousands of trees all shapes sizes and species. He is also very friendly and will help you pick the tree you like most. It can be a daunting task when there are so many beautiful trees to choose. If you have any questions or problems with your tree you can take it back and he will "rehab" it for free. Definitely a find in the seattle area. read more

I love this place!!! I found out about this shop kinda by accident many years ago, while searching for local bonsai. It is a wholesale bonsai business (which i did not know at the time), but the owner was very welcoming and funny, and He let me look around at ALL the trees and spent much of the afternoon answering my questions! It then took me over an hour to pick out the tree i wanted to buy, because there are sooo many bonsai trees to choose from!! Expect to spend some time here looking, there is just so much to see.
