When did IKEA get this expensive? I have to admit I was a big fan of this store years ago, since they updated their building I don't go as much as I don't like the set up and honestly I haven't needed new furniture I quite a while. We went the other night, stopped at the restaurant first so my husband could eat some meatballs and I just ordered a side of mash and gravy. The meatballs were gross, the mash was bland but also had a funky taste. They do still have some good things like kitchenwares, those little heart cookies with the chocolate in the middle, frames, and some of their furniture that happens to be made of wood is still decent but even that it's become so flimsy. I went up to a curio cabinet I've seen before and just opening the doors and drawers you could tell the wood was thinner, flimsy and of course $100 more than last time I saw it. Everything is overpriced, cheaply made, and it kind of broke my heart because I loved that store. Ikea is an interesting place. Ive never really understood the hype. I usually just go to stroll around on a day where its too cold or wet to walk outside. It always seems busy, lots of families with kids running around bouncing around on the furniture. People seem to leave their drink cups and other trash just laying around on shelves--which is pretty disrespectful. Most items are overpriced and/or cheaply made. Never really checked out the restaurant/cafe. Seems popular amongst the customers though. Several self checkout machines for ones chosen convenience. read more

There is truly something special about IKEA. It's affordable, accessible, large, and crazy good. Such great deals and no matter what budget - you can find something. I wasn't looking for anything in particular and really enjoyed myself. From seeing different designs for rooms to seeing their special finds such as berry jam! I had so much fun. The people are friendly and available to help. The selection is vast and it is nice to go even though so big, the way they have it set up where you just follow the signs, you will go through it all. Shopping in Renton, Washington... I was on my way to Ross when I saw a super big sign for IKEA... I had to take a look. IKEA is a fun store full of furniture, linens, lamps, dishes, decorations, kitchen gadgets, tote bags, beds, plushies, and more! I enjoy looking at the creative ways that the merchandise is placed together! I was going to get a bath mat for my niece's apartment, but IKEA had one in her bathroom's color! There were colander, hangers, and panda plushies on sale... Gosh, the prices were so reasonable! I had to get them for her! Then, I heard an announcement on the PA system. The first 40 customers in line with an IKEA account would get a gift card worth $5 to $500... I rushed to pay and went outside by the balloons. I think I was about the 30th person in line! 3.5 stars I've never been to an Ikea before, so I decided to stop in. Huge displays of furniture and everything else you need from paintings, stuffed animals, and candles. Prices weren't bad either. They sell frozen food, have a quick cafe with pizza and frozen yogurt, and a restaurant. I grabbed some dinner at the restaurant- $5.50 for a kid's meal that included 4 of the Swedish meatballs with gravy, lingonberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and mac n cheese and tried the pear soda. Most of the food was kind of bland and could've been a little warmer. They were out of a lot of the desserts, but wasn't that busy otherwise. 2025 #5 read more

We've bought stuff from here and quality wasn't too bad. I guess depends on what you get. But it's a great place for outfitting a first apartment or dorm. They have tons of furniture and Knick knacks. Just be aware of how prices compare. The prices here are reasonable for what you get. We also come here for the meals. The food used to be a lot cheaper but these days, eating out has become more expensive. We got the meatballs. Just be aware that they're salty! Even without the gravy. There used to be more desserts but it was late afternoon when we went. If you have a free membership there are deals. super duper big ikea, but they usually are like that lol. Did not do much shopping here with furniture as we all just came here for the cafeteria food. Had enough of a selection with sweet and savory foods, but was thankful that the Swedish meatballs were available. Nothing that matched to actual meatballs from Sweden, especially because no lingonberry :( the one that surprised me with how good it was: the selections of juice! Unlike any other flavors that I see in restaurants, shops, etc. definitely a must-try. Peas were very weak and tasteless, so not a good side with the Swedish meatballs. sauce was okay... at least they had a lot of tables and booths available. Nice and clean because customers knew to clean after themselves, but janitors ensured that the ground was squeaky clean! the servers of the food were competent at their job, so the long line dissipated pretty quick. Absolutely the worst experience ever!! Tom and I went on a Monday night (March 16) to return a drawer that we no longer need. Put ourselves on the queue. I don't understand why the store has 9 return registers and only 2 people working??? The Asian woman with long black straight hair was doing a return for someone on the phone... (I feel like the customer should be in person to do a return). The other employee (black, wearing a blue beanie) was handling a customer's return that took well over 30 mins. By that time, at least 15 people were waiting in the queue. After the black employee with a beanie helped that customer and didn't even acknowledge any of the customers who were waiting to do our returns. And he just got out of the register and took his break. Going back to the Asian guy and the straight long black hair, after a while to resolve the issue with the customer who was on the phone. He had to get another person to help(presuming it was the manager?). While the Asian guy was just chilling behind her. He could have easily stepped into another register to do returns....After waiting for an hour at this point we needed to talk to a manager because this was the worst experience my husband and I ever had. We spoke to Karen the manager (a thick, white woman) to tell her about our frustration. The moment she walked up to the guys. She said, "She's right with us. I need to do something really quick". Long story short, all we wanted was for her to put more employees on the register to help lower the queue. But apparently, she basically said that only two people are able to do the registers??? Karen gave us a bullshit excuse and walked away. My husband and I both worked at a major retail store and I don't believe that only 2 employees are qualified to do returns. If that's the case, the company or location needs some major cross-training and that's ridiculous. Next to the return registers, the pick-up station is there. Two employees were chit-chatting away. They can easily step in to help kill the queue. The Asian employee could have explained/apologized to all the customers who had been waiting for over an hour. But instead, he was standing there doing nothing. Absolutely the worst experience ever. Karen the manager gave us a bullshit excuse and walked off. The black employee with a beanie took 30 mins helping a customer and walked away without acknowledging all the customers waiting just for him to take his break. Is your 15-30 mins break that important that you can't help kill the queue??? The Asian employee didn't even bother to apologize to all the customers waiting because of him and his customer ON THE PHONE. Like he really can't hop onto another till??? The biggest issue with this location is that you don't learn something is out of stock until after you've wandered the entire store, picked out what you want on the floor, and made it to the end. No joke, about 75% of the items we like on the floor end up being out of stock. Last year, while remodeling a bathroom, not a single sink + vanity combo was available. We even tried piecing one together separately, still nothing compatible in stock. That was wild to me. So we stopped shopping in-store and started using Click & Collect... which is also hit or miss. I've had some pickups go smoothly, but today was not one of those times. I ordered last night for a 10-11 AM pickup. That window passed with no update. I called around 2 PM and was told my order didn't even start getting picked until 1:30 PM and should be ready by 3:30. It's now 5:30 PM, still nothing. That's a 7+ hour delay for a scheduled pickup with zero proactive communication. Honestly, between the stock unreliability and these fulfillment delays, IKEA is becoming way more effort than it's worth. read more

I grew up with an ikea next door back home and I loved it. I was a little disappointed to find out that this ikea is 2 hours away from us but we make it into a whole day adventure. We take our time walking through the showrooms to get inspiration then we grab lunch in the cafeteria. Once we are done eating we head to the self service furniture area and grab whatever we need. Maybe we were spoiled by the West Covina location in soCal but this one left a lot to be desired, especially the restaurant. We are in a perpetually rainy state and you have outdoor parking? With cardboard boxes? Make it make sense. Maybe sunday's are the wrong day to go, but I feel like a lot of the stock was out throughout the store. We couldn't find black cutlery. We couldn't find certain pillows. We couldn't find certain bedding. Don't even get me started with the restaurant. It used to be enjoyable (again, maybe Covina just got it on lockdown, idk) but this one was a hot mess and a half. None of the soda fountains worked. I got charged for 4 water bottles even though I clearly had 2. I asked the remaining cashier for help and she didn't speak English and told me to wait for the cashier who made the error. Well, that gal never came back so after a while, my annoyed husband just went and grabbed us 2 more bottles to end the dumb misery. That's when a manager showed up to check in with us. Whatever. The food left a lot to be desired. Peas were hard, garlic loaves were hard, mash was meh, there were no fountain drinks, and it was so hot. We came out of there drenched in sweat. My husband works HVAC and he was perplexed - why spend so much money on a huge system that you won't turn on? I love the concept of the little childcare area but what's the point if the parents still bring their crotch goblins with them and let them run amuck? It would be so easy to snatch a couple and sneak out. It's insane that parents just let them run ahead of them and hide and be content in focusing on kitchens instead of the well-being of their kids. The whole store is organized well that you hardly have to reach out to the staff with questions. The returns process is quite simple as well. The only thing I dislike about this ikea is that, a good number of items are out of stock very frequently. May be because it's the only ikea in the state ? We purchased a storage bed and mattress for a spare bedroom. A few days later we decided on different plans for the bedroom and to cancel the order. We contacted customer service prior to delivery and were able to cancel the order within minutes. However, that when service changed. National customer service was not able to process our refund and said that the local store would have to process the refund since it was a in-store purchase which was required due to delivery. National customer service would not give me the number to the local store which is not published and only put in a ticket. Was told I would be called either that afternoon or the next day. Not called within the timeframe so called National customer service again. Multiple transfers but finally got me to someone who gave me the local store number. Called the store and got vmail. Never called back. Had to call them multiple times before finally getting someone at the resolution desk. Took over 35 minutes on the phone with the resolution desk to process the refund. The king of affordable furniture that you assemble on your own. This massive warehouse in Renton provides so many ideas and options thanks to their well designed displays. My suggestion is to come right when they open or right before closing. It can get pretty busy and crowded during the peak hours and on weekends. We came here to buy an affordable option for a kitchen pantry. Pricing out a custom option would have cost me over $2,000. We found a beautiful piece for $400. Yes, you have to assemble it yourself, but that's the reason why it is so affordable. The whole ordering and delivering experience was flawless. Then we decided to find a set of cabinets that would work as stairs, instead of using the bed stairs. Went online on IKEA.com and found the Trofast series. Added that to my shopping list, so I knew where to find it in the store and went to the store to see it, to determine if it could work. I felt like it was sturdy enough so we bought it and, after a minimal reinforcement work with parts from Home Depot, now we have a very convenient, space saving and useful setup. Hold on...I am not saying IKEA is Ethan Allen. However, there are a few items to seriously consider. My #1 would be their selection of unscented candles. IKEA taper candles are AMAZING! I love, love, love the 13.75" white ones @ 8 for $11.00 (less than $1.40 each). They are so romantic and sexy in their stature. They will definitely make a presence at any dinner party, wedding, or soiree, not to mention on those rare nights when you bring out those cool silver candlesticks you found at Goodwill and lock yourself in the bathroom for a bubble bath with the really great wireless headphones that block out the dog, the "discussions" over whose turn it is to unload the dishwasher...ahhh...but I digress... ; ) AND... The 20-pack of 7.5" white tapers for just .50 a piece? Hurray! Both share my favorite qualities: The color is consistent. They really are pretty "dripless." The price is fantastic! This location is typically clean and has easy parking. The showroom floor is pretty on par with other Ikeas I've been to. However, they often have low stock and things are hard to get on the warehouse floor. I like to browse the kitchen section on the bottom floor, where they often have some new items. Food rating only! The line in here on a weekend was absolutely insane. Sure it's a weekend, but it took nearly 45 minutes to get the food. Though I will admit picking up the trolley cart and wheeling things over is kind of cute. I like their cranberry drink option because it's one of the unique ones, and their meatballs are definitely worth getting. The chicken is fine but nothing special -- target those meatballs! I honestly recommend just getting nothing but servings of meatballs separately rather than the meal. More worth the money. The cake was a pleasant surprise because it wasn't as crazy sweet as I imagined it might be. The soft serve only comes in a cup now due to COVID (?) and looks a little silly, but it's tasty. Had to go to ikea for the first time in years to get cabinet for a very specific space. Fortunately I found exactly what I needed at a price that was reasonable, but it was a complete pain to actually get. Firstly, The wrong pallet was in the spot where the item was supposed to be and we had to get an associate to help us. After finding all the pieces required (one was out of stock and so I had to find another option) we made our way to the registers to check out. My Family Account wasn't working so they had to call over a manager to enterer HER code. We were not informed that the code could be entered just once a day however. One family member made his purchase first (the smallest order) and when it was my turn to check out, we had to call over the manager again to enter her code, but it could not be done bc she'd already entered one for us. That means I missed out on getting the family benefits on my the largest and most expensive order (about $300). Then we were attempting to take our things to the car and the checker said we could not take the shopping bag we'd been using to the car. I'd forgotten my bag in the car and I was going to return the shopping bag when I returned the cart. She said no and said I'd have to buy a bag. I told her I wasn't buying a bag to carry stuff 50ft to the loading area. It was pretty ridiculous. I'll be thinking twice before buying stuff in person from ikea. What should have been and easy pleasant experience was a total pain and though a few of the folks who helped us were incredibly nice, the checker was rude and unhelpful. (0ver a beat up $1 bag!)
