Do not buy kitchen countertops through Ikea. They use a company Caesarstone who contracts out to Florform who can see has horrible reviews and then Florform contracts out to someone else to install. I had to have over 70 phone calls with FlorForm, 20 text messages, 8 visits to my house and be without a workable kitchen for 2.5 months just to get countertops installed. It's been my first time at IKEA, and of course everyone's tells me to try the food court, to get the full experience. We ended up getting the lemon crusted cod, meatballs, mash potatoes, and the almond cake. I was a big fan of the lemon crusted cod, I just wished that it was a full portion instead of giving me the broken pieces. The meatballs were pretty good, and I enjoyed the sauce with it. The star was definitely the almond cake. The almond cake WAS SO GOOD. I loved the structure of shopping there but the little cafeteria took the cake! It was so cute. The parking at IKEA definitely favors all the customers, there's so much parking & it makes it so convenient for everyone. We ended up also getting a few of the furnitures & it's really easy to build. The employees could be a little more helpful, both in the warehouse & in the cafeteria. Its been around 3 years since I have been in Ikea in Portland. Honestly I am not a fan but since I am European I came here for food. Seattle Ikea was even more disappointing. They dont have anything in stock now specially sofas and chairs. Anyways, decided to buy something better than ikea sofa. Their food market used to be better, no scandinavian flat bread, no herring in sinnap sauce, also ikea cafe didnt had swedish desserts like princess cake, no salmon appetizer. Very poor. Pretty busy nearly every time I go but I'm always able to check out quickly and find parking pretty easily. Just like most other IKEAs. Friendly staff. Clean and well kept show rooms and warehouse areas. Parking lot is large and spots are always available. During peak times you might have to walk a little bit though. read more

The place is 2 stories with the top row being the food court and showroom and the bottom floor being the area where you get the actual bigger product like furniture. Loads of room ideas all designed with items you can purchase from IKEA. Fun to look around and affordable prices. I came with a purpose to buy a utility cart for my classroom. Disappointed and Frustrated by Months-Long Delivery Nightmare I wish I could leave a glowing review, but my experience with Ikea has been one of the most frustrating transactions of my life. On October 18, 2024, I ordered a Kallax shelving system with multiple inserts to celebrate a meaningful milestone--one year cancer-free. After much deliberation and planning, I was excited to finally treat myself to something I had wanted for years. Unfortunately, the delivery process has been an absolute nightmare. My original delivery date, November 2, 2024, came and went with only part of my order arriving. The essential inserts were canceled without notifying me, rendering the shelving unit unusable. I had specifically consolidated the order to avoid multiple shipments and the high shipping fee I had paid. Since then, I've experienced delay after delay: November 9, 2024: Delivery was rescheduled, and my mother waited all day at my new home, only for the delivery to never arrive. November 23, 2024: After more delays and confusion between Ikea and the delivery company, my delivery was canceled again. December 7, 2024: Another failed attempt, with excuses about ferry issues, despite visible availability. December 21, 2024: After multiple confirmations leading up to the date, my delivery was delayed several times throughout the day and ultimately canceled. Now, the next scheduled delivery is January 8, 2025--almost three months after my initial order. I've had to pay an additional $400 for storage fees for the items this shelving system was meant to organize. While Ikea's customer service representatives have mostly been kind, the partnership with this delivery company is a disaster. I was even told to handle the issue with the shipping company directly, which is completely inappropriate. As Ikea's customer, I should not be left to resolve problems with a third-party contractor that I didn't choose. Ikea needs to seriously reconsider its logistics strategy and offer alternative shipping methods for customers in areas like mine. Other companies--UPS, FedEx, or even local freight services--have successfully delivered large items to my island without any issues. What should have been a joyful purchase has turned into a months-long ordeal. Ikea has offered refunds for the shipping fee and a small credit, but the stress and wasted time far outweigh any compensation. Please, Ikea, do better. What kind of person writes a review for Ikea?.. It me. A visit to Ikea, whether I need something or not, has always been a favorite pastime of mine, even before 500 days of summer. Although I miss the old Renton Ikea for nostalgia sake, I must admit the new store is much better, and the restaurant is certainly a nicer experience. Despite not always having inventory of things I need, the store layout is the usual fun maze, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Self checkout seems to have made the wait times somewhat better. I also enjoy the fact that you can waitlist yourself for returns, leave your items in a locker, and shop the store or grab a meal until its your turn. I imagine Ikea restaurant's stateside are fairly standard, but I've never had a bad dining experience here. Meatball plate a must, chicken tenders are good, and the flourless chocolate cake is a favorite! You'll no longer find a parking garage here, which isn't ideal for the cold/rainy days, but there is a covered loading area you can relocate your car to after shopping to load up furniture without battling the elements. I usually hit up Ikea on weekday evenings, so I can't say much about the parking situation or wait times to checkout or eat in the restaurant.. i'd avoid visiting on a Sunday for sure. read more

IKEA is always great when it comes to inexpensive furniture and other utility item. It's almost an hour ride for me to reach the only IKEA in this area. Visited couple of times recently to pick up some essential stuffs. Parking- plenty! The shopping experience is unique. You find the items you like, note them down and pick them up in the end from huge racks. Special mention to their food counters. They are pretty good as well. Not expensive at all. What I don't like about this place is their lousy service. No matter which IKEA you go, it's the same story. The lines are very long, at the same time many counters are closed. They encourage to self check out, but hardly anyone to assist when there's an issue or any confusion. And the pick up is even worse. They knew that we are there to pick up the item, still it take ages for the item to come out. You definitely can take a nap for a while before your item is available. It's that terrible. Not sure whether it's the volume or the people. Either way that experience sucks! read more

I made my first order online from Ikea. It was shipped from Ikea in Renton. The sender address is 601 SW 41st St (Ikea Renton address). They sent me a different shelf unit, and we realized it after we almost assembled it, because they looked similar. I contacted customer service by chat. All they agreed to do is to send the correct item and waive the shipping fee of $10. And we'll have to ship them back the incorrect item. I asked if they can refund at least half of the the missing item. It's not a big sum. The entire shelf cost $44.99. So half would be about $22. But they refused to do even this. Only $10 fee, and that's it. I realize that $22 is also a small refund, but at least it feels more fair, a half of the missing item. My husband now will have to disassemble the incorrect item and put it neatly into the packaging. We had to carry the heavy incorrect item to our floor. Now we'll have to carry it back down to the mailing room. I 'll have to cover all previous labeling and remake the shipping material, print return label, call fedex, etc. On top of this, I wasted about an hour chatting with their customer service (first with a regular agent, then with a supervisor). And all they can offer me in exchange is to waive the pathetic $10 shipping fee. Zero flexibility. And on top of this the first agent showed total lack of attention for detail. I gave her the article number of the missing item in the beginning of the chat. When I fully explained the issue, she requested this number again. I said that I already wrote it above. She found it. But then in the end she said that 2 items of this articles were ordered, even though I ordered only 1. That means that she mixed up with a different article in my order, and if that wasn't caught, she could send me a wrong item again. And then they would likely force me to do another return and do zero refund. Additionally, I asked if they can at least do expedited reshipping of the correct item, but they couldn't do even this. I have to wait another 5 days to receive my much needed shelf. The very first online order from Ikea demostrated that a big percentage of their employees are simply sleepwalking at work, not paying attention to what items they pack into shipping, nor what items are requested to reship. I dealt with 3 employees of Ikea (the one who packed my shipping, the first customer service agent and the customer service supervisor). 2 of the 3 employees made mistakes. Ikea absolutely doesn't respect customer's time and trouble their workers' negligence cause. Given that the very first order went so wrong and showed Ikea's customer service in all its patheticism, it seems that the percentage of online orders they mess up is 100%. At least, that's true in my case. One orders from Ikea at their own risk. Update 4 days later: It's unbelievable, as long as the story with Ikea already is, it's just the beginning. 4 days later after the situation described above, I still didn't receive any notifications that my replacement shelf was shipped. So I contacted customer service chat again. I was shocked by their answer. They said they couldn't charge me for the replacement as payment was declined. But the replacement was supposed to be sent for free as I already paid for this item originally!!! And I double-checked this with that so called supervisor in the previous chat. Turned out that so called supervisor created a replacement order incorrectly and didn't check the box that the order is supposed to be free, while assuring me that it will be free. And if that wasn't enough, the person who handled the shipment, tried to charge me again. When the payment didn't go through (fortunately), they simply abandoned the order and didn't even contact me, even though the order shows my phone number and email on it (I received it by email). When I asked if I can discard the wrong item I received from them as it's taking half of room in my apartment, the agent again said no and that I have to return it. I asked why then didn't they still send a return label if 4 days have passed since my previous chat. The agent said that she added a note to the corrected replacement order so that they send me a return label. Does that mean if I didn't ask, they would never send it to me, and I would have this piece of garbage in my room indefinitely??? It is obvious at this point that Ikea is totally disfunctional through and through. One person doesn't know what the other is doing. There is zero accountability. At this point I dealt with 5 employees (original order shipper, previous chat agent, so called supervisor, replacement order shipper and today's chat agent). 4 of those 5 employees made errors. It's been almost 2 weeks since I ordered a shelf from Ikea. I still don't have it. Unfortunately, Yelp has a limit on the length of the review. It's like an amusement part that some adults love going to, me not being one of them. IKEA is kind of hectic to get to, and walk through, but once you're done, there is a sense of accomplishment because you're leaving with a bookcase that sells out all the damn time. Geez. I like it for that reason, they have furniture at prices that are unbelievable. After having to deal with driving on I-405 south, which is a shit show in itself, you then enter a huge parking lot that always seems to be full, no matter how spacious it is. After parking you the enter the building and can either head upstairs to the showroom, where you can see room layouts with the furniture and furnishings or you can walk through the main floor, which is where you get the items for purchase. The showroom is the fun part if you have time because the rooms are decked out, giving you an idea of how to style the rooms and furniture. Every time I walk through there, I am just reminded of 500 Days of Summer, and that the furniture and home accessories are actually way nicer than I thought. The main floor with the items to purchase is a little hard to navigate around, especially if you're looking for something specific. I've found that a lot of stuff I've wanted is not in stock, such as the much-needed bookcase that ALWAYS sells out here. Yes, the prices are affordable. Some items though, that are super cheap I'm a little suspicious of. But other items I've found here I've been happy with. But if you have to return an item, that is an ordeal. You go to a specific section, enter your information on the sign-in screen and wait for your number to be called. It takes forever. Ugh. Try not to return anything here. All in all, my IKEA experience is A-OK. Some things I love about it, some things I want to avoid. But I found that it gets more enjoyable the more times I visit because I've learned where the items are and how to get around the store. read more

Always a pretty good store to browse around at. Nice to walk and see the showrooms, different styles and furniture. Since the Coronavirus pandemic, the cafe wasn't open, but recently they opened up indoor dining. Swedish Meatball plates are $5.99 and are one of my favorites! Now they have added a Braised Pork Shank dish as well. Not bad, but a little pricey at $8.99 for a small plate. They clean the dining area pretty regularly, so it is pretty comfortable to sit down and eat at. The tables are spaced out, so not as crowded as before. Some Cons - Noticed a number of furniture items have been 'Temporarily Unavailable' for some of the items we wanted. Been over a year seeing those tags, so not sure what is going on with them. A lot of people walking around inside the store do not respect social distancing and they don't know how to maneuver their carts. They act like they don't see you and almost run into you or move so slowly that they block everybody from passing. Wish they had more registers open when checking out... read more

Krista at the resolution center just completely saved my experience with Ikea. The bad: We ordered some shelves that were shown to be in-stock online, and requested priority delivery. We received confirmation and a 9-9 delivery window. After the window ended with no contact, we reached out and online support informed us they were on back order, and it would be 2 weeks. So today I drove down there to see what's up with the stock, and lo and behold, all of the pieces were available on the shelves. Frustrated because I'd paid for priority delivery, customer service had me reach out to the resolution center. 5 minutes later the order had been modified, a delivery window set up for the next day, and the pieces pulled. I am a military veteran I have inexhaustible patience for lines and waiting. I have a default position of putting others ahead of myself. I was primed for BS. I am super understanding that working retail in 2021 is deserving of a medal. Look I took an assertive tone but I wasn't yelling, I wasn't disrespectful to any of the employees. No name calling. All good things must come to an end. No more $1.99 breakfast at the IKEA restaurant in Seattle (actually Renton). Breakfast now has three (3) choices: small, medium and large. The small consists of a couple of crepes, lingonberry jam/jelly and small scoop of hash browns. The medium breakfast consists of 2-crepes, scrambled (powdered?) eggs, hash browns, lingonberry jam, and two (2) slices of (oily) bacon (or 2 veggie pork sausage patties). The large gives one a fried pork chop, crepes, hash browns a scoop of scrambled eggs and the obligatory lingonberry jam. Prices are, $2.99 for the small, $3.49 for the medium and $5.99 for the large. Wife and I had the medium breakfast, but I kept thinking (wanting?) that pork chop. IKEA must've figured the breakfast menu was so good and frequented by so many customers that they felt compelled to substantially raise their prices. I hadn't been to IKEA in years...the one thing that hasn't changed is you must walk a couple miles just to get through the store. LOOK for the posted shortcuts for area (kitchen, bathroom, kids...) you are interested in & wear comfortable shoes! We didn't look for shortcuts sign and in hindsight, it would have saved an hour+. We went in looking for a few specific items and didn't need to go through the entire store. A lot of the products seem to be much sleeker than years ago and a lot less parts to put together. Received help from Frank. He was a walking encyclopedia of all things IKEA. If you like their meatballs don't forget to pick up a package of frozen meatballs. Much easier to just order online or go somewhere else entirely - instead of fighting the parking lot insanity and dodging slow walkers in the tiny show room corridors. I decided to try the famous meatballs and it took 90 minutes to wait in line because they had one elderly woman working the hot bar. It took FOREVER. I think a greeter of any store should be 3 things: kind, welcoming, and informative. The greeter at the front of ikea was none of these. I told her it was our first time and tried asking a question. It was clear she was fluent in English. She cut me off and told me where the elevator was. Which had nothing to with what I was trying to ask. The rest of the store was impressive . Well known home goods store. Large showroom warehouse with a food court. Get pretty busy on the weekends, is a maze on the inside and prices are reasonable. Recommend checking out their website as some of the others have mentioned to shorten your trip here. There is a lot to buy. Food court is okay, I think hot dogs are their main item. They have snacks. Plan ahead if you want to see it everything they have. The large items are picked up after the showrooms are done. Not a fan of their products and the theme they have going on. Seems low end and mass produced. Service is self serve foe the most part. Good place for college students and for kids decoring their rooms. read more

Love this store!! Its always clean staff is friendly and you can't beat the prices. Can't say much for the quality but overall good deals. Plus you can grab 2 dogs, chips and beverage for just under $3 bucks. The hubs and I like to visit on rainy days, we can walk around for hours. read more

Their stock availability is always random. It is often the case that you need to collect five components for a cabinet and then found that one or two components are out of stock. You either give up the whole furniture or have to make another trip to IKEA some time later. Depending on where you live, it can easily cost 1.5+ hours for a round trip. Their website and app don't show correct availability info - they often display something as being in stock then the shelf carrying it is empty. Totally waste of time. And their cashers are always always insanely slow even at least busy time. Their staff are all cold and unfriendly. The staff at cafe, the cashiers, the cleaners - they all show no courtesy or care to customers. The result is: the queue at cafe is always long and moves unnecessarily slow; the queue at cafe cashier is the same; the store checkout queue is more so. I haven't been to any store this bad for many years. read more
