Best selection of bamboo in the area. They have a wide range of products and knowledgeable staff that can help you find the right Bamboo for your area. The location is a bit hard to find but once you are there it sprawls back a ways and has a wide assortment of plants, not just Bamboo. Highly recommend. read more

The owners are absolutely the best in the business!! They are so knowledgeable and so beyond helpful!! They really do go above and beyond!! Their property is the most beautiful you will ever have the pleasure of visiting!! They have so much more than just every variety of bamboo known to man!! Pond plants, the largest gunneras you'll ever find, hostas, palm trees, absolutely everything and if they don't have it, they will help you find what you are looking for at another local nursery!! Great selection of bamboo and other landscaping plants. I needed a really tall bamboo, and I was able to purchase one that was like 16ft. The owners are incredibly knowledgeable and give great advice on where and how to plant your specific bamboo and on how to maintain it. Clinton Bamboo is clearly the coolest place around! They have such a variety of plants, not only Bamboo, they have Ferns, Citrus Trees, Cannas, Hostas, Fuschsias, Gunnera, Palms, Peonies, Pitcher Plants, Venus Fly Traps and much more! If you want to just go for a nice stroll, go take a visit to them, the giant bamboo is AMAZING! It is beautiful there, plus you'll be greeted by three amazing dogs that will help you find your way around if you get lost. The owners are wonderful too! I really didn't want to leave and my 17 yr old son enjoyed it too, we've been talking about it since... we will be back there soon! Boy, they sure know their bamboo! Super friendly, knowledgeable, and honest. We left with two pots of clumping Rufa bamboo. I was thinking we might need twice as much, but they were so honest and asked about the details of how we wanted to plant them and the size of the area, etc. They told us we would be purchasing way too many. I love working with honest people who aren't in business just for the money. You can really tell they love helping others find just the right plant for their needs and they love what they do. I can't say enough good things about this place. My first visit was this past spring and I fell in love. Not only is it a jungle oasis in here, but the customer service is unmatched. From my very first visit, Lee took me under his wing and taught me SO much about these northwest "tropical" plants. He spent an incredible amount of time teaching me how to take care of each plant and showing me new plants that would work with my landscape. This place is so much more than just Bamboo, although there is a lot of that too. They have a wide variety of bamboo cleverly planted in different homes so you can see how it grows differently in each. So he showed me: this is what so and so looks like groomed and over here, just left alone; or this is what so and so looks like in a pot and over here in planted in the ground. But like I said, they have so much more than just bamboo; all kinds of ferns, grasses, banana trees, carnivorous plants, dinosaur food plants, and a lot more. I can't say enough about Vance and his crew at Clinton Bamboo. I was a complete novice to the world of bamboo, arranged to meet with Vance off hours in the winter and he was SO helpful. First, the bamboo growers property is super unassuming, right off a main drag in Burien but I was quickly swept into a whimsical never-ending land of bamboo, beautiful vines and grasses and some neat plants. I was astounded at how beautiful the property was (and enormous) especially the bamboo forest which looks like it belongs in Thailand or something. Back to the point- Vance was so patient with me, toured me through all the different types of bamboo, how best to care for each one and very thorough in helping me select the best option for our purpose (privacy on a front deck with lots of sun.) I've done research since, talked to other people who have similar type of bamboo- we ended up going with the green temple bamboo and finally made the call to order our plants. They (delivered by Vance) arrived today and I'm still totally flabbergasted at the level of service they provide. He put the plants In the spot to become their final new home, explained some specific instructions for our home home/light and just like that I'm delighted with the softness these 3 plants provide on my deck and the level of privacy is perfect. I probably should mention the quality of the plants themselves, they are in GREAT condition and have been carefully grown for us. I own a service based business and I'm always extremely surprised to receive this type of service as it seems to be a thing of the past. Thanks Vance! We had a really good experience with Clinton Bamboo. They were so knowledgeable and attentive to our needs, providing excellent service! We purchased 5 clumping bamboos that didn't work out. Upon explaining our circumstances, they refunded us the money & we repurchased other species with their advice that hopefully will work for us. We are likely going back this fall to get 2 more bamboo plants for the yard. We want to wait to see if the current 3 plants will work. We'll be sending family and friends who are doing landscaping there. Highly recommend! read more

This is a beautiful site, filled with numerous mature groves of many bamboo varieties. The owners live on this site as their family were the original homesteaders. They are always open to sharing a wealth of information and advice about choosing and planting particular bamboo. They also sell other unique and beautiful plants, with an entire offsite location where they house more surplus. I find myself wanting to take others to their gardens just to see the beauty of it. I would even be happy to leave a tip to do so, I love it there so much. I bought their bamboo barrier and am currently planting the majestic timber bamboo, Vivax. Seeing the mature grove allowed me to know what I would have years down the road. read more

Clinton Bamboo gets high marks for the fantastic selection of bamboo (among other "flora") as well as the professional, courteous and friendly service; Vance and Lee are both extremely knowledgeable and patient. I love bamboos I was so excited to visit this nursery since they offer the most variety of bamboo specialized and the largest size banana trees! They plant the bamboos mature like walking in a bamboo forest love it. It really helps see the bamboo species as it will be instead of the small size we buy it. That is very important for bamboo since the spread! Why 3 stars. Customer service is great the boss and his helper answer questions nicely and was very helpful. But when the price list comes. It is quite expensive not competitive to other local nursery. Yes they always have much more bamboo choices but it's is going to cost you. Then the quality I didn't buy any bamboo plants, I bought others and well we made a trip and already there so didn't want to come home empty handed. So we bought some, it was quite hard to pick good ones out of the choices. It's ok nursery but not the best in quality. It's more about quantity. So I still highly recommend this nursery for those who want certain types and more bamboo choices and don't care about the price. For other plants I'll go elsewhere. Unfortunately there is nothing motivating me to coming back. It is very cool place to check out based on the very giant bamboo garden! read more
