Surprisingly staff not very knowledgeable or friendly about gardening and coffee shop expensive mistake. Came in with my mom to get some help with spring plants and gardening tools. Went to the help desk, asked about specific plants. The staff person just pointed and said, "go in there" to the greenhouse. Went there, was told, we just sell houseplants in here, go outside through the automatic doors". Went outside, no one, not one person out there. We walked around for a bit, still no one. Gave up and decided we could find help online and at another nursery. The coffee shop. Great idea, poorly managed. Saw some senior group had taken all but two tables and a couple of chairs for their get together. I found two chairs against the wall for my mom and I, but no tables. Made our order, sandwich and egg bites- they are brought in prepackaged from an outside company. I had to walk back and forth from my chair to the coffee counter to check on our drinks and warmed up sandwiches. After 20 minutes, have one drink and cold sandwiches. Had to go back since they forgot a drink. We ate a few bites of our sandwiches- threw away the rest. No more interest in getting the order right. Also saw one of the staff people counting out cash onto the counter next to the coffee machine. Cash and coin I believe should not be placed on counter space next to food or drink prep? read more

Excellent nursery staffed with great people. I was gifted a succulent that needed some TLC and I was able to ask the staff for some help in terms of pot sizing and potting mix. It was great to hear that they had personal experience with using the products in stock. I have had great success repotting! Their indoor gardening area is a huge greenhouse and there are different plants being offered for sale every time I've visited. I had my eye on a plant and was on the fence about buying...and the next time I visited they were all sold out! They do restock, but this nursery is popular so if you're undecided just buy the plant :) They have a small cafe area which I haven't tried yet, but looks fairly popular with people bringing their dogs to hang out too. There are quite a lot of events and classes related to gardening on their website. One that I'll probably be going to is the rotating tool sharpening by Northwest Sharpening Services - quite cheap at $4 per tool. read more

I'm a big fan. I love shopping here, it has so many lovely items. They have high quality goods. These rang from garden decorations, gifts, great sun hats and skincare. There is a great coffee shop inside, with some of the best coffee drinks and quiche I have ever tried. It's a welcoming place to escape the winter cold and see beautiful plants. I did some Christmas shopping here recently.I believe that their Christmas tree decorations have special magical powers. I got a unique Santa decoration for my nephew. Somehow this Santa was able to fly to a retirement home I was visiting. For there he was, hanging out in the hallway of this retirement home. I recognized this special Santa, by the Sky nursery tag partially attached to the tag. It was a Christmas miracle. So, be careful of the special powers of Sky nursery decorations, they may fly away like magic and then show up unexpectedly. Love the staff here and the seasonal decorations. They put a lot of effort into making colorful displays. read more

I'm not new to Sky Nursery but I dropped by recently after mourning the loss of a few plants. I happened to be there when all indoor plants were 30% off. I came back a few months later and they had the same sale. It seems this sale occurs frequently. I was very happy with my plant hauls. I would definitely be back to peruse when I'm in the area or just need more plants. They also carry lots of pots, various soiks/other mediums and also cute crafty things. All the staff are also super nice and always looking to help you with any questions. The nursery is also dog friendly which is always nice when I have my dog with me. read more

I came in to buy some landscaping soil to fill in some uneven areas in the yard.Everyone one there was very polite and helpful.I asked one employee on the sales floor where to go to make the purchase.She was outgoing and told me I just needed to go to the cashier station. The cashier was very friendly and helpful.She made certain I was getting the right type and mentioned if I needed a larger quantity(more than a half yard) I could buy a full yard or more and save some money and pick up loads in half yard increments as I had time. I would say this is gonna be one of the friendliest nurseries I've ever run into. I needed to have a cactus rep potted and luckily the home gardening department has a lot of people with really good extensive experience.. We were able to pick out a new pot and drain pan and with their careful skill. I had my plant potted in less than 24 hours. It was well worth the wait already back home and thriving but the selections here for Christmas? Or any other season? Or incredible they have ample parking and everyone works very hard to be friendly and helpful . I would say that in all my experiences, especially growing up out in Woodville, where another large nursery exists or existed at one point this experience was one of the most memorable. After trying a few different nurseries around our house this has easily become the one I love the most. I love how everything is divided, how things are marked based on type and shade. I also love that all their indoor plants are in a separate area and they have the pricier plants in the corner. Their selection of planters is amazing and it makes my eyes happy that they're sorted in rainbow order. The prices are pretty competitive and cheap compared to some of the other nurseries I've been too (some things even half the price for bigger plants). I like that their stock changes slightly every-time I go. For example I went yesterday and they had quite a few smaller Thai constellation monsteras (they were cheaper than the one I bought weeks ago) and pink princess philodendrons and last time they didn't. Their team has been so helpful and friendly to me every time I've went. They also have care sheets for a lot of their plants which is pretty cool. Parking is a big lot and there's always been a lot of availability even on days it's busy. read more

If you shop here, hang onto your cart at all times! Ours vanished in less than 3 minutes. My wife and our employee went down a narrow aisle to look at trees. Did not want to hurt the plants in that aisle with the cart brushing against them. It took a while to find it, and it was far from where it was left. My suggestion to your staff is to use "grocery store" rules and wait at least a half an hour before removing a standing cart with plants or product in it. Or if you do move it, pay attention if you see people saying "where is our cart!" My employee had also had someone ask him what he was doing there, as he pushed the cart for my wife. As if they thought he was loitering or going to steal. He is nearly 70. And is quite soft spoken. My wife got irritated by the experience, after she head that, and left the cart and plants. She may not return as she felt embarrassed by the experience and being made to feel out of place. It is stressful enough deciding what plant to buy, without having people size you up and think you might be loitering or thieves. read more

I get in trouble with my husband everything we popped over for a "gift" for someone! As someone with a light green thumb, this nursery has EVERYTHING I need to make sure my plant babies both inside and outside survive! Yes, some of the items can be a bit pricey but you're for sure getting quality product! The one areason we still need to explore is the tree area...but my husband will scold me if I bring home more plants haha! Staff are great and will point you in the right direction, and the cashiers make sure you are in the right place for the line...it's okay everyone lines up in the wrong spot their first time! read more

In short Huge place, been there forever, enormous selection, great service. Prices are competitive enough (good plants do cost real money though). In long This is an anonymous stretch of 99 and not really the first place that comes to mind when you think of welcoming oases in the midst of the suburban sprawl. But guess what? It's a big, airy, friendly & clean place where you can beautify your home inside and out. I've been here a few times through the years, though less often since I moved north. I was looking for a specific flowering vine for a new gate in my yard, and other places didn't quite have the selection. Sky wrote back right away with a cheerful email about how they had 3 choices--one of which blooms half the year and smells really good. Sold! They kept right on being nice about everything over email, and today I swung in to pick it up. Everybody was easy to talk to and they even brought the thing out for me. Man, it's gorgeous, already showing some little buds and it's only March. I didn't shop the store since I was just picking up but this was a great experience for sure. The big-box stores might be a little cheaper if you're not picky about plants and need a bunch of them, but if you want strong, healthy, interesting specimens and want to get the best results, I'd start with a specialty nursery like this. And they're so gigantically huge that not only are they a specialty place, but at the same time they have more selection than everyone else. This nursery is STUNNING! Beautiful, welcoming, nursery that caters to your indoor and outdoor needs. Pros -clean, good signage, a bit of everything -organized and pretty gifts, reasonable to higher end prices but not over the top - extremely friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help staff! - had to try a cold brew and check out the pastries . My coffee was solid! The friendly baristas made my cold brew taste even better . - big variety of outdoor garden fountains which is hard to come by - this place is so organized! Beautiful displays and easy to navigate. Cons I was looking for two specific things- an outdoor fountain and outdoor pillows. I saw a few pillows but I wish there was a larger selection. - didn't settle on a fountain but we got some great ideas and Ryan was knowledgeable, friendly and patient. I find nurseries intimidating bc I'm not an garden expert. He was so kind to answer my elementary questions. Go here, just to check it out and experience the beauty. read more

A nice, local nursery that is very well maintained, well laid out, has a broad selection of plants, flowers, and most of the things you'll need for your indoor or outdoor garden. There are nursery's with broader selections of indoor and outdoor plants, but probably not in the city. Service was very good. Staff were friendly, knowledgable, and prompt. It might have helped our experience that we were there on a weekday when it wasn't busy. I know they get busy on the weekends. Prices are a little on the high side for some things, particularly outdoor plants seemed a little higher than what we're used to. We haven't purchased any plants from Sky yet, so it may be that their quality explains the price. I cannot say. Many other items were priced the same or a little less than other stores. They also have some unique items -- at least things that I haven't seen at other nurseries, and I've been to a few... Overall, recommended - two thumbs up!! read more

Been a Shoreline resident for over 20 years and just realized I've never posted a Yelp review for Sky Nursery, my bad! I'm a townhouse/HOA dweller, so not much yard as most homeowners. But I've visited many, many, many nurseries over the years and dabbled in a wide variety of plants to test conditions based on soil and sunlight in the Pacific NW planting zone. What seems to thrive and survive are natives and perrenials with occasional pop of color annuals. Gave up on fruits, vegies, herbs, groundcover, and exotic grasses. Ditto on my dream for an Audubon Society sanctioned garden. However, I do try to get plants that are hardy, drought tolerant, and that attracts bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Sky Nursery definitely has all your indoor and outdoor gardening needs covered with helpful gardening experts onsite. For me, I just have to exercise restraint because one definitely pays for quality and variety. read more

HORRIBLE customer service and the line was 3 miles long. I wasn't even able to buy anything because when I tried to leave I realized I had to go back to work and couldn't wait the 20+ minutes I was told it would take to check out. Complete waste of my time, and the markup is disgraceful... I just realized the grow lights I almost bought there for $27 each are $11 dollars on Amazon. The business is a total scam! I'll never give this stupid store a dollar of my money. I wish zero stars was an option. read more

I've really grown to love Sky Nursery. Their customer service is consistently great, on site and via email, which they always answer my emailed questions promptly and thoroughly. The prices are good for the quality you get, meaning you get what you pay for. I recently got about ten plants here then stopped at a big box store on the way home and got three others, same price range, not discounted, and those three plants were terribly rootbound and poorly watered. I rarely shop in the gift section because that really is quite overpriced, but other than that, Sky is my go-to for selection, quality, and assistance with plants. read more

I love coming here, first off the staff is always so friendly and knowledgeable. The selection is huge, almost a little overwhelming but it's usually pretty easy to ask someone to help you find what you need. They seem to have absolutely everything from outdoor ornamentals to indoor plants including carnivores. They have landscaping materials including most and soil amendments as well. Wide selection of seeds and bulbs, books, gifts. When I'm needing a little inspiration I always pop in and by myself a plant or something. Just stopped by for the Heartful Roots makers market and grabbed a gingerbread and a peppermint mocha at the coffee shop- they are very busy with the holiday season and extra visitors and the small crew there is working very quick! The coffee was good and the gingerbread was very spiced and it's nice to walk around in a greenhouse in winter. If you have a sky nursery gift card they work for the cafe as well! read more

This has been my go-to nursery my whole life. It was, and still is, a family occasion to come here and get various things. Both pre-remodel and post-remodel versions of Sky Nursery were/are fun to explore. Inside the store itself they provide boxes to put different plants and flowers in as you shop. I used to go around with these and and collect fallen blossoms. The store has a wide selection of plants that helps us get our gardens going in the spring and summer. I love the seeds section. I had my own plot of garden growing up that I used as a vegetable garden and the seeds we bought from Sky always worked. So magical getting to see the progressions from seed, to plant, to fully grown and edible vegetables! Tomato plants have also been a constant from this store throughout my life. Perhaps one of the most fun things growing up though was getting dirt or gravel. We (my dad, my mom, my sister, and I) would take my mom's first car, a 1968 Ford pick-up truck with no power steering nor horn, and get the dirt. Maneuvering the truck to and from the dirt/gravel pick-up spot was difficult enough, then we'd get the material dumped in the back of the truck while we were in the truck and it would shake. And then we'd be off again, that was so much fun. Two of my more recent visits were before and after Sky Nursery's operations changed in response to COVID-19. I went to the store on Saint Patrick's Day 2020 with my mom to get Shamrock plants in honor of Saint Patrick's Day. They had everything we were looking for from shamrock plants, to potting soil, to pots and watering trays to go underneath the pots. They even had green and red varieties of Shamrocks! We got one of each. Both our Shamrocks are still alive and doing well. On that day, Tuesday the 17th of March 2020 we could still shop in store. On my mom and I's most recent visit to Sky Nursery on Friday 1 May 2020 shopping in-store was no longer allowed. We placed the order for a bag of planting mix (only $5!) over the phone, then went to the store to pick it up. Cars formed a line outside/around the store for order pick-up. Once in line one of the store workers asked for order information and gave us some instructions about where we'd be going to pick up our order. Workers as line guides were periodically spaced along the line of waiting cars. We waited along four sides of the store. When we got to the order pick-up area they loaded the bag of planting mix into our car. From arrival to departure after picking up the planting mix took us 32 minutes. Still a good experience and we got what we needed, just had to wait a little bit. read more

Given that it's winter, you'd think there isn't much you can expect from a garden store but this place goes all out for the holidays - Christmas trees, wreaths, poinsettias etc. Prices may be a bit higher than some of the lots around town but they seem to have more customer service - I saw few staff members helping someone attach a tree to the roof of their car. The thing that really wowed me is their collection of Christmas ornaments - they have the cutest ornaments of everything you can imagine. You could probably find an ornament gift for anyone here! read more

Been living here for 5 years and decided to check this place out after hearing about them on the radio. Immediately made me smile as I walked in! So many selections and neat creative ideas for the home. I walked around and probably saw about 15 staff members but nobody even acknowledged me or asked if I needed any help. I was there for about an hour. I tried making small talk with the cashier but all I got was a smile back. I spent about $20 but probably would've spent more if they were a little more friendly and helpful. Customer service is key. I may go back just because I love plants. read more

My new favorite nursery! Such an amazing abundance of plants, herbs, flowers and more. Honestly, I could spend all day here, I think we spent a few hours! My eyes were drawn to every single plant, every isle, you can't leave any part unseen here. They have a super cute section in the back corner for indoor plants and OMG you won't be able to leave that area without grabbing a plant, or two, or three! I left with 9 succulents for bridal shower favors (you can't beat $2.49 for the quality!) and 6 extra indoor plants for myself, hehe. I can't say enough about how beautiful each plant is and the quality, so worth it. I've been to so many plant shops/nurseries and this place is excellent. My boyfriend and I have been building our backyard garden and bought all of our new little family members here! We picked up some cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower and romaine lettuce to start. This location is about 45mins away from me but I'm willing to make the drive to this little piece of green heaven. I liked the indoor and outdoor gardening space. We were looking for Asian fruit trees and they averaged $70-100/tree. We were also looking for some local variety of shrubs. I liked how there is an indoor glass greenhouse where you can sit down and enjoy a cup of hot drink/sandwich. They have kids events coming up in the end of February. read more
