We stumbled upon Indoor Sun Shoppe during the Fremont Sunday Market and honestly it might have been the best accidental detour of the whole outing. This place is stunning. Like, stop-in-your-tracks, take-a-slow-lap-just-to-take-it-all-in stunning. The selection is incredible and the space itself is just lush and beautiful. It's the kind of plant store that makes you want to become a more responsible plant parent immediately (or if you are already plant nerds, it's heaven). Whether you're a serious horticulture person or just someone who likes wandering through something green and alive, this is worth your time. I occasionally visit Indoor Sun Shoppe because they have a great selection of air plants. The two younger women who work there are awesome--always friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Unfortunately, my experience with the older man who works there has been very different. On several visits, I noticed him following me around the store. It was obvious to me that he was not trying to assist me; it felt more like I was being watched with suspicion. The experience reminded me of the Korean store owner scene in Menace II Society. I do not appreciate being made to feel like a second-rate citizen or being treated with passive suspicion. As a brown man who drives down from Edmonds to shop here, I should be able to browse and spend my money without feeling like I am being watched simply because I do not fit someone's idea of who belongs in the store. I enjoy the selection and appreciate the excellent service from the two younger women, but this repeated experience has made my visits uncomfortable and disappointing. read more

Great value. Hands down, I can find something for under $20 and go up from there. The staff are knowledge and I've gotten plant repotted for free. I bought my monstera and Janet Craig plants here as well as soil and pots. My plants are extremely healthy and I always get compliments. I love how when I enter the shop it's like a relaxing oasis of plants. It's almost as if the plants all distinct personalities and the atmosphere is harmonious. Please support this local shop. I love visiting Seattle and my nephew brought me along here to buy a valentine plant. I was won over as soon as I saw the VW Beetle with an active train and plants within the trunk sitting outside of the front entrance. Along with other quaint decorative items. Upon entering there were hanging plants and oh so many other great greenery and water themed decor. Not to mention pottery for planting, terrariums, garden decor, and more. The gentleman at the front desk was genuinely knowledgeable and very accommodating. He helped pot the plant we purchased into the ceramic we purchased. I come to this plant shop every time I'm in Seattle. If you're looking for rare and usual plants (when available), this shop definitely carries them. Their selection of air plants is pretty amazing and the price can't be beaten anywhere. You can find a lot of good air plants for $2-3 a piece, sometimes even as low as 10-cents for the very small ones! I often buy their cactus soil, as it's well-draining and you can get a huge bag for about $7. Importantly, this store also carries pumice! Instead of ordering a 2 quart bag from Amazon for like $15, you can get a huge 5 pound bag for about $9. They also sell orchid bark. The selection of ceramic pots is also pretty good and much cheaper than other stores. Overall, Indoor Sun Shoppe has everything you need to take care of your plants and is certainly the best plant shop in Seattle. read more

Another plant store gem in Seattle. They have been around for year and this location is their best. This store is located close to the canal and across Theo chocolate. If you're a carnivorous plant enthusiast and collector, this is perhaps the best place to go. They used to have a really big selection of carnivorous plants especially in the summer, it was much smaller last time I went there but maybe because it's winter. Lots of plants to look at, and if you love succulents, they have an amazing selection at a very affordable price! I swear there are succulents here that I haven't even heard about or ever seen in person before! One good thing about this place is that most of the plants are smaller so they are more affordable. But there are showpieces here as well that would impress you. This place is sort of an iconic one, I remember when they were just a small hole on the wall store by the U district. I really enjoy visiting this place in the summer when they have the back patio door open and have many plants overflow outside, it's just beautiful. Went with my sister in law as she was looking for a golden pothos and the places we looked at beforehand did not have what she was looking for. This store has a huge selection of plants and a variety of each plant that it makes you stop, stare, and debate on which one you want to pick up and take home. I thought i was going to walk away with nothing but i ended up walking away with an Absolute Zero. I loved the texture and look of the plant that I HAD to have it. Sadly only one looked healthy while the rest didnt. Although, after a few weeks, its still sitting healthily and partially shaded in my kitchen window. This location has a bunch of healthy looking plants, but there are some selections that have a couple that dont look as healthy. You just have to find the right one. So excited about this plant store right now! Just found out they will be celebrating their 50th anniversary as a business next October 2020!! They have been in the same family since it's beginnings! I came in here per a coworker's recommendation and it was worth the two months it took me to find time to make it out here! They have a huge selection of pots and a huge selection of plants and even better than that they're employees were super knowledgeable and helpful! This incredible girl with galaxy gauges and a lovely smile was super helpful as I asked her a million questions! The owner was there and you can tell all the plants are well loved! For a gorgeous plant and a really nice modern cement pot that was dipped in white paint at the bottom, my total was only $23! When I had bought a plant previously at a plant shop downtown the pot itself cost me $30! They even had local pottery/ceramic pots available! I highly recommend this place and I highly recommend supporting your local businesses and small shops like this one!! read more

I love this place. It's beautiful inside and out, and the people who work there are awesome. They have a huge variety of tropical plants. They get new shipments on Thursdays so if you're looking for something specific, that's the best day to go by. The plants are vibrant, quality, well looked after. They'll give you a detailed rundown of how to care for your plant and even suggest plants based on your space and light. Prices are pretty fair. They have started charging more for the super trendy plants like some in-demand philodendrons. But most everything else is fair. They have big plants and tiny ones so you have a budget and size range. I am also obsessed with the pottery they have! They have a local artist who makes these gorgeous drainage pots with a built-in drip tray. They come in these dreamy, jewel-toned colors. I have never seen them anywhere else. Perfect for keeping plants happy because drainage is important! And they have lots of sizes. Finally, they take very careful Covid precautions. They enforce mask wearing and have always had lower capacity inside. They have a line in front and take names so they know how long approximately you've been inside. If there is a line, they ask people to keep it to 20 minutes inside. If you're having a bad day, if it's gloomy, just go! You don't need to buy anything. The grow lights and the beautiful plants, stacked all around and hanging from the ceilings, will give you a lift. read more

- good supply of plants! - We came here on Sat, and there were roughly 10 ppl in the store. There are plenty of succulents, good ampunt of air plants, and a bunch of other plants. Their plants have a variety of sizes, but there are more smaller ones than big ones. The succulent are around $6 for a medium size one, there are some for $3. The smallest air plants are $1.5, and other ones are usually in the range of $6 to $42. The succulents here look healthy, and many of them have flower buds. They are, however, twice as expensive than the ones in home depot. They also have some decorative pots that look quite amazing. I would stop by here if i am looking for a specific plant or succulent, probably after visiting home depot first xD. read more

I went here with a friend and having lived in this area my whole life, I had never known about it! It was so cute and surprisingly bigger than I was expecting! My friend got a huge lily palm (or something along those lines haha) and it was surprisingly well priced for the size. They had a great assortment of plants and pots. I feel like pots are usually way overpriced for what they are but these were actually decently priced! I picked up two off white "roughly" (basically an unfinished look, not shiny) square pots- totally $35 for two which was really a good value! Would definitely recommend and return here. read more

This is one of the cutest plant stores that I've been to. While shopping around fremont during the Sunday Flea Market, I came across this store and decided to take a look inside. It is absolutely amazing inside here and they have a lot of variety of indoor and outdoor plants at a great price. The employees were incredibly helpful in addressing any questions I had regarding future care of the plants, different types of plants, and also helpful insight into which plants had similar instructions. Included with the variety of plants are pottery and decor. I noticed that they sell detailed pottery such as glass air plant bowls as well as ceramic painted pots at different sizes. Parking is incredibly easy to find and bountiful as Freemont provides 2-hour street parking. I bought my first grow-light from the SS back when they were in upper Fremont. Lots has changed since then. Anyway, I got replacement bulbs and a nice succulent on this trip. I LOVE IT HERE! This is hands down my favorite place to buy Tillandsia, Cacti and Succulents. The staff are friendly and actually knowledgeable. You can tell they love their job and have a true passion for flora. Their inventory is abundant and they have a great array of different breeds and species. Their selection of pots and decorative holders and things are wonderful too. There is just so much to see. And the best part is that they are so reasonably priced! Like, surprisingly so. They're in Fremont and they look all boutique-ish and artsy but then everything is so moderately to low priced. It's so great. I'm happy again just thinking about it. Yay. I've been in this place several times over the years and it's always pleasant experience. They have a extensive variety of house plants including carnivores and air plants. I'm not sure how they jam it all into the space. Like someone else said it is probably bigger than it appears from the outside. Everything is reasonably priced. Staff is always helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Gentleman went out of his way yesterday to help me find just the right piece of pumice for my pings. I always leave here happy. I had to wait here for a few minutes to enter as they strictly limit the number of shoppers due to Covid. I was impressed with the selection and the healthy of the plants. It's a really fun shop and would love to be able to spend more time here in the future. The customer service was really excellent. I *really* enjoyed my time in this massive plant shop/ plant supply shop! If you're into succulents, cacti, and carnivorous plants, this is your dream land. That's not to say that there isn't a HUGE variety of other wonderful plants to choose from. But their selection of those types of plants are just bigger than I've seen elsewhere--with lots of rare and interesting selections. As far as their other plants, they have clearly marked sections for low light plants, which is really nice for plant-parent newbs. I'm somewhere in the middle now with my plant experience and expertise, but I still appreciated the clear organization. The middle of the floor is then filled with all types of crawling plants, trees, and everything in between. And the prices were pretty dang reasonable. Maybe the most reasonable in Fremont, as far as plant shops go. Their large Polly plants were less expensive than much smaller ones at both the other Fremont shops. The walls are covered with lots of pots. However, although I appreciated the vast selection, there were a lot of repeats and very few I actually really liked for my house. But I really think that's just my pickiness and specific color needs. There was one pot with a stand that was less than half the price as the same pot at another Fremont plant shop. I also really liked the wall of soil and other materials for specialty plant needs. And the back section is packed with plant and gardening supplies galore. Everything is spread out here since they have more space, so it's easier to browse and find things. And the service was KILLER. I mean, so good... so knowledgeable. I felt like the gentlemen who helped us really wanted to be there and really care about the success of our plant purchases. Great nursery's with a wide selection of houseplants. I like that they don't follow you around too much and just let you explore the shop on your own. There's in indoor and outdoor section, so there's a lot to look at! The prices are ok, and the zz plant I got there is growing quickly (for a zz plant).
