Fabulous selection of plants from your most common finds to rare plants and hybrids I haven't seen in any other shop around. Plants were all in immaculate condition, and I didn't see so much as a fungus gnat inside. Ended up taking home a beautifully variegated caramel marble and will definitely be returning for a couple others on my list. We were the only ones in the shop, and the owner was super nice and asked us to let him know if we had any questions, but also hands off which we appreciated (I took a good three laps around the shop, haha). I stop by once every 2 weeks (sometimes more!) to get some new additions to my growing plant collection! I love the variety and frequent rotation of new plants coming in! The owner and his dog are super friendly and welcoming too. There are plants for anyones budget and tons of plant care items too. Owner is super knowledgable and happy to answer any plant questions. Absolutely love this plant shop. Joe gets so many different varieties in the shop it boggles my mind. I just moved down the street and I will be coming in a lot more than I'd like to admit in the coming weeks. The staff is so friendly and will help you with any questions you have. This place has it all! Large variety of plants, cute pots, a friendly dog, and even a ~unique~ Polaroid wall. I purchased two plants and they are thriving a few weeks later. I didn't see a single fly or pest in the store, which is honestly a first for a plant store. I'd highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a unique plant at a reasonable price. They had so many varieties and species I'd never even heard of before. I will be going back. 30% off this weekend! I just got some crazy deals. & both of my dream plants, a philodendron Strawberry Shake, and a replacement Monstera Albo. The variegation was pretty incredible. They even had a mini anthurium clarinervium for $16! I almost bought it just because of the price, but I needed to chill a tad. Definitely recommend checking this spot out, they're right off Stone and 46th. I think at the moment the yelp address is incorrect. The attractiveness pf the plants was overshadowed by the RUDENESS of the owner. We were just in there and asked to use the restroom. He literally said, "Are you buying something? We don't let any random person use the restroom." We had picked out several items to buy but in light of this chose to walk out, amazed and shocked at his lack of hospitality. There aren't too many plant specialty shops in WA that specialize in cactuses and succulents, but Seattle Plant Daddy is one of them and I'm glad they're around. The shop isn't a giant greenhouse like Sky Nursery, but it does have a good selection of high quality plants that you won't find anywhere else. Joe, the owner, is a very knowledgeable person who travels the world (particularly in Japan) to find rare hybrids and cultivars. That being said, the prices are a bit higher than other shops. However, the quality is there and if you want something unique, Seattle Plant Daddy is the best place to get it from. I picked up a few Japanese haworthia hybrids that are doing great and was lucky enough to learn the same day they had a sale (notified through their instagram account). I would definitely follow their Instagram account, as the store is pretty active with posts and story updates. If you want something specific, you can certainly ask Joe if he's going to get that plant in the future. I'm thankful to have this store in Seattle and look forward to picking up more rare finds in the future. read more

I came here after a friends recommendation and was really excited to visit! That quickly went downhill after entering the store. I initially came in since I'm new to plants and didn't know what to buy. I went to the counter asking for help and was told if I wanted help, I needed to buy something. As if I just came in to ask for help and wasn't going to purchase something? Not only was it a sassy comment, it was rude and off putting as a potential customer. Found this little private plant nursery. Very clean and owner was very friendly-helpful. I couldn't make up my mind because all of his plants were so pretty and well kept. If your looking for a lot of variety of plants then this nursery might not give you all the options you're looking for. But descent selections. Will definitely be back. read more

I stopped by recently while walking around in the area. The shop itself is great. The plants are well taken care of and they're very organized and clean. Prices vary but I would say this shop is more on the expensive side. One thing though, while I was looking around I noticed a wall with many Polaroids of what looked like "nudes" of women. Not completely naked pictures but definitely explicit and I just thought that was sooo weird. I just cant imagine if a family with children walked in there.. I think there should be some type of warning before entering the store or even the little area where those pictures are? It was very odd to me, my boyfriend as well. The plants are great and all but that really threw me off and I won't be shopping there anymore because I really don't support that type of stuff while I'm out just trying to buy a plant or two. just my two cents. read more

one of the more organize and well kept plant nursery you'll see in the area! And this area has about 5 plant nurseries! The prices can be reasonable depending on which plant you choose. The plants are very very well kept compared to some other plant nurseries I've been. Is hard to do when this type of store needs to kept very humid. And I've been to 8 nurseries lately . Is not very busy cuz you gotta know is there to find it. So is like a hidden gem. Is very delightful to spend time in the shop. For such a small place this shop has an EXCELLENT selection. From very common plants to rare ones, everything is in great shape and priced really well. I've been following the store on Instagram and finally ordered some plants a month ago and went in and picked them up. I've been so happy with them I decided to go back for me. Everything I've purchased has been healthy and thriving without issues. I've encountered 2 employees, including the owner, and both are kind and helpful. Joe, the owner, was knowledgeable and kind. The shop is small, yes, but it's so full of plants that I looked over the same racks multiple times to make sure I had seen it all. We asked basic questions which helped launch thoughtful conversation. Joe excitedly showed us specific specimens that we might have missed. He gets some plants from Florida, much like other shops around here, but his always seem to fare better than others. Price wise, it's on par with what you'll find in Seattle. Some plants are cheaper than others and vise versa, but that's just how the plant game goes. Definitely stop in if you're in the area. read more

Okay, so this was one of the indoor plants store I was really excited about checking out when I started collecting plants again. It took a while to find the place since the info on Yelp hasn't been updated yet even though they moved to a new location over a year ago. Anyway, the place itself was nice, much bigger than it looks from the outside. In the front you see some beautiful and impressive rare plants. Great selection that ranges from the more common beginner plants all the way to some really rare and expensive ones. I'm mostly interested in philodendron and Alocasia so I was focused on those types of plants. They did have a great selection of those and even found several rare ones that I was really interested and have been searching for a while. Despite really wanting a couple of these rare philodendron, I decided to walk away... no, it has nothing to do with the price as they were reasonable and what you would expect for those species, and the plants looked good. It was something else that gave me a pause : gnats! Yeah, the place had so many gnats flying around! Every time I held up a plant a whole swarm of them will take off , it's like fruit flies in the summer! It was like that for most of the shelves, especially for the Alocasia and philodendron ones. Now you may say that gnats are harmless, perhaps but I really have no idea what kind they are AND I really don't want to bring home any of them back to my home and contaminate my collection! So, I got out of there quickly and didn't get a couple of the plants I was hoping to get, one of them was a philodendron tortum which was hard to walk away from. I hope that I was just there at a bad time for gnats and that the employees will at least try to control or even inform customers about them. I will go back again and perhaps give them one more try, but for now, I was not impressed. read more

Wow. I went in here just to browse and check it out and I was very taken back by the customer service. Talk about snobby. Selling plants is supposed to be inclusive and encouraging, not trying to put people down for their lack of experience or knowledge. Also, everything in there is WILDLY over priced. This plant shop is a wonderland of well taken care of collector plants! I came in for just 1 thing and got much more than I bargained for! Owner def knows what he's doing and cares for his plants. Marvin the pup is also a sweetheart plant guard dog. Left with an epiprenum pinnatum (cebu blue), a gorgeous well priced whale fin, and a scindapsus pictus silver splash (tempted to go back soon for more). Everything in there is overpriced, like I got my variegated epipremnum pinnatum for $15 and the one in the store was $48 and half the size of mine. Plus I asked a simple question to the associate and he expected me to buy something before he answered. Me and my girlfriend went today , the door was open so we assumed the place was open for business, so we started looking at plants , couple minutes later the owner came up to us and said "oh we are closed " We were like sorry we saw the door open so we assumed that its open , he was rude and had a nasty attitude towards us " with a smart butt answer he said " well our hours on the door !
