Love this place! Lots of native plants that can't be found anywhere else, and loved talking to the owner, Don. A fun place to go visit.

It was great to hear that they had personal experience with using the products in stock. I have had great success repotting! Their indoor gardening area is a huge greenhouse and there are different plants being offered for sale every time I've visited. I had my eye on a plant and was on the fence about buying...and the next time I visited they were all sold out! They do restock, but this nursery is popular so if you're undecided just buy the plant :) They have a small cafe area which I haven't tried yet, but looks fairly popular with people bringing their dogs to hang out too. There are quite a lot of events and classes related to gardening on their website. One that I'll probably be going to is the rotating tool sharpening by Northwest Sharpening Services - quite cheap at $4 per tool.

Went to the help desk, asked about specific plants. The staff person just pointed and said, "go in there" to the greenhouse. Went there, was told, we just sell houseplants in here, go outside through the automatic doors". Went outside, no one, not one person out there. We walked around for a bit, still no one. Gave up and decided we could find help online and at another nursery. The coffee shop. Great idea, poorly managed. Saw some senior group had taken all but two tables and a couple of chairs for their get together. I found two chairs against the wall for my mom and I, but no tables. Made our order, sandwich and egg bites- they are brought in prepackaged from an outside company. I had to walk back and forth from my chair to the coffee counter to check on our drinks and warmed up sandwiches. After 20 minutes, have one drink and cold sandwiches. Had to go back since they forgot a drink. We ate a few bites of our sandwiches- threw away the rest. No more interest in getting the order right. Also saw one of the staff people counting out cash onto the counter next to the coffee machine. Cash and coin I believe should not be placed on counter space next to food or drink prep?

I had a tiny back yard, cute and neat, but not very useful. I saw the reviews here and elsewhere…read moreand was impressed by the positive feedback given to Jumanji. I met with Jumanji and told her that I'd like to create a seating area, I needed privacy from my neighbors, and I like a riot of color, mostly purple/lavender, fuschia, white and chartreuse or gray. That's just about it. With that little bit of direction she turned my humble yard into a fairy tail garden. It's like a Monet painting! When my partner saw it he responded, "Wow!" Even my son, who, as a teenage boy, isn't the most effusive (unless you want to talk video games), commented, "The back yard looks really cool!" Jumanji gave my little yard the artist's touch. It is perfect. Jumanji's rates are reasonable and she will come back for regular maintenance, which means she will continue to watch her handy work develop and will take more care than most. Now all I need is a table and bench or chairs so I and a couple of my friends can enjoy the beauty and serenity that is my secret garden.

Connecting with Oliana Gardening was superbly serendipitous. As an interior designer and landlord,…read moremy gardens need to be both aesthetic and highly functional, and preferably mostly native. I needed a landscaping establishment that was reliable, trustworthy, knowledgeable about natives, the right price, able to do both maintenance and renovations, and, this was a biggie, artistically trained. Oliana Gardening is meeting all these needs beautifully. Reliable and trustworthy means appointments are kept, communication is good, work gets finished, and my property gets cleaned and locked up as it should be. Being able to trust Oliana Gardening as I do makes my life so much easier. Jumanji really knows her native plants, and helped me figured out a scheme for a sunny front garden that I was failing miserably with on my own. I'd spoken to other people about natives before, but they either couldn't imagine an entirely native garden, or were so natives-oriented they seemed to sniff at my aesthetic needs. Jumanji supports my dual and sometimes conflicting requirements. For example, while it's stressful on sword ferns to completely cut their old fronds, we're compromising with selective trimming. The fact that Jumanji does both installations and maintenance is especially helpful because every act of maintenance from pruning to carefully placing excess leaves in the right spot all leads toward the overall garden vision. She's not going to damage anything from ignorance or mess up what is working well like my clean gravel drive by getting dirt all over it as one "gardener" did. More, Jumanji keeps teaching me new things about gardening, which makes the process fun. To me, Jumanji's greatest asset, is that is also an artist. Many companies have great plant knowledge or construction abilities, but their gardens often lack unity or artistry. I absolutely love collaborating with Oliana Gardening as one creative with another. Jumanji understands the creative process, creative angst, and "can we move it again?" Jumanji also has other equally talented colleagues, so when I wanted a border between my plants and gravel, she brought in an artist friend who can weld. Together they created a beautiful steel border and craftily installed it among carefully placed rocks to make everything look level and balanced. Last, Oliana Gardening understands my garden ambitions aren't backed by a big budget so existing plants, rocks, leaves etc. have been used to their utmost. To offset costs, we'll figure out things I can do myself, we'll work together for a bit (such as when she wrapped one of my trees with holiday lights and installed some new large rocks), or spread work out over several months. My garden has really come together since working with Oliana Gardening, and I look forward to working with the company long into the future.

After gathering way too much info and comparing, we called Cascade Gardens. George Gearhart was easy to talk to, answered a miriad of questions, then gave us a great deal on two 15 gallon Fargesia Robustas that were already 10-12' tall. There may be bigger outfits in the area but no one knew as much or had as beautiful bamboo specimins as George at Cascade. As the real estate broker, SeattleViewHomes.com I collect A+ vendors, subcontractors, tradesmen and techs. George is the latest top of the list of vendor I will refer my clients to.

I didn't want the standard arrangements that you see so often at funerals and COLs. Liz was exited to create something unique and personal for us. My mom loved Hawaii and loved the Pacific Northwest, so I asked for tropical arrangements, PNW arrangements, and a large display that included both. Liz did that exceedingly well! She even included horsetails with the PNW look, something that is very unique and not typically part of any arrangements that I have seen. I appreciated being able to talk to her on the phone when needed, as well as the quick response I got an emails. On the day of the event, we were short one arrangement, so her team put together an additional arrangement on the spot. The final bill surprised me! I thought we would be paying much more than the final amount turned out to be.
