The restaurant and the food is very cute and picturesque. However, the service was severely lacking considering there was little to no customers. Took forever to get our food and in addition to that after ordering the first time waiter had to come back to tell us that there was "no waffle mix" so 2/3 of us had to re check the menu in order to order new items. Had trouble with billing as well was charged extra for the Belgian waffles that were never given to us because they didn't have them in stock and was also charged extra for two additional drink that's were never brought to the table and never ordered.
The drinks were awesome! The food was very tasty, and they had anything and everything our group could have wanted. Such an enjoyable Father's Day brunch! Small point...maybe turn the music down just a smidgen, a little hard to hear the waitress.
I've heard a lot of good things about this place but was let down. Maybe it's the location? But I will start with the good. You can order by scanning a QR and are able to flip a little card on the table to get your waiters attention so that was nice for people who don't want to wait long. The atmosphere was chill and fun. There was an upstairs maybe that's where all the pics I've seen are from because the bottom was nothing crazy just a basic set up, maybe some bright coloring. It is Tiny inside the bottom floor also so I can't say for upstairs. They did make great looking fun drinks. We popped in for dinner so I ordered a BYO cheeseburger and it came out wrong. The simplest thing, cheese, on a cheeseburger with onion, both came without. Also they weren't that flavorful, or anything special about them at all. Sadly the fries kind of sucked also. The Mac and cheese was good, it kind of tasted like a box brand but it was still the best thing we had haha

Which is fine but the service was not doing their part. They were nice though and the manager was attentive a bit as well. So maybe they just opened. The food was okay. Nothing exciting and also our order was wrong. The eggs didn't have cheese in them and our side of guacamole was missing. No butter for the bread is an odd accident. Asked for that afterwards. The main concern we had were the explicit words all over the brick pillars in the main entry bar area. Not a family friendly place.
Pretty disappointed. Ordered scrambled eggs and so obviously they fried the egg and then just ripped it up. Fruit looked kinda meh. Drinks were fine. Pancakes were good but I ordered chocolate chip and they just kinda came on top. Edible, but that's a low bar. But still edible, so if you have no other options then its okay

When it came out it just looked messy and a little lackluster. The drink also just tasted like a regular coffee with piece of walnut tossed into the drink. I got the nashville hot chicken burger which was also a disappointment. The entire burger just tasted like pickled cabbage and the chicken patty was thin and tasted nothing like nashville hot chicken. It was just a tiny chicken patty that was smeared in hot sauce. I was also confused about the seating situation. I didn't have a reservation and accepted bar seating for a party of two. But when we sat down, up until we finished eating, there were so many tables in the restaurant that were empty. Not sure why we couldn't sit a regular table. Maybe people just didnt show up to their reservation.
Very fun for your classic over the top bottomless brunch with friends. It's loud so you can bring little kids too. Service wasn't smooth but they were fairly new when we went so I'm sure better now. Food was good and the bottomless brunch deal is good. Lots of fun things on the menu like cookies and cream pancakes and loaded fries. Also fun photo ops around and they had a dj on Saturday.
My niece was in NH and she wanted to meet for lunch. I suggested "The Pace 2B." It was a little after 12pm, so we met up and went inside and the first thing I saw two skeletons and one yellow duck sitting on the bench across from hostess station. To make a long story short, the lattes were not great, you need to ask for sweetener. The espresso shot was drip coffee. I ordered a garden salad with Italian dressing, it was okay until I saw the lettuce was brown. I also ordered the mad macaroni and cheese burger with bacon and all the fixings. When it came out it look popping but as I looked at it, the burger was dry and cheese and Mac was cold like the burger. I was ready to munch that burger down. So the whole meal was a wash! My niece asked for the manager and she came out straight faced no apologies and let my niece tell our situation. She listened and just said, " you all are go and thank you. I thought she would offer us something else on the menu. We were not ready to leave but, okay! I would have love to stayed and tried something else but I think I'm good for now. Very nice place inside and upstairs must be where they hold their events. The outside needs to be cleaned and the vines hanging on the outside needs to be fixed. This place has a lot of potential just the right management or restaurant consultant to show them the way. The server that was being trained was the best, please tip her well!

When ordering it was required to pick an alcohol and he chose Jameson. For $21.00 it was a small drink. With both types of alcohol it was at least strong. The presentation of my Iced Hazelnut Latte was beautiful. It was funny to us that La La Latte was written on my tray as my nieces and nephews call me LaLa. The food options sound really good so we hope to get back to New Haven soon to try the food.
This Angry Pepper does not give a lot of 6 stars so here we go... The two most basic things which is coughing, and the bread were executed perfectly. The presentation of the copy was really nice. And that Italian bread was perfectly toasted with just the right amount of butter. I normally don't finish my bread, but it was unbelievable.!! The presentation of the omelette with the nice greens on top was such a nice touch. The ambience was very nice. The music was a little loud, but that's OK. It woke me up for a Sunday morning. I will definitely come back. If you are feeling a little religious, and want to thank God for a great breakfast just walk across the street to the church which is also very beautiful. - there you go 2 reviews in 1. --- "so states the Angry Pepper!!"
The Place 2 Be is a trendy restaurant with two floors. They have drinks with little yellow ducks floating on top, or the toppings drizzled along the outside of your glass or cup. They are all about the presentation. You don't have to wait for someone to take your order because you scan on a QR code to order, and if you want service you hold up a card. We ordered a build your own omelette with cheddar cheese, onions, peppers, and spinach. Came with home fries, and wheat toast. Churro French Toast was challah bread duster with cinnamon sugar, topped with churro buttercream, white and milk chocolate drizzle,and dulce de leche drizzle. The omelette was decent, but the Churro French Toast was way too sweet. They don't serve regular coffee so the closest thing is a Americano consisting of shot of espresso with hot water, and they don't have decaf coffee.
The vibes were immaculate and the staff was great! I do recommend going online and adding yourself to the wait list because when we got there they said almost a two hour wait - insane! However, I do think it is worth it for the experience. Once we got there we were greeted by the lovely staff and a dj booth. Not sure if the dj is an everyday thing or we just got lucky but they played great music and got everyone excited for the boozy brunch ahead. The waiters and waitresses were very attentive and danced and hyped up everyone there. Bottomless refills also came fast! The food was also very delicious! Could recommend almost anything on their menu. Like any other Place 2 Be location, don't forget to take pictures before leaving!

Stopped in for lunch while in New Haven. We got the California burger with fries and the southern quesadilla. The burger was tasty and packed with lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole and sunny side egg. The fries were terrible. The quesadilla was filled with sausage, bacon eggs and jalapenos, it was ok. The server was very nice. I think this place is for the drinks. Many of the drinks come with little rubber ducks in them. read more

What a fun brunch spot! The food, the drinks, the music all lend to a fun, playful vibe. The servers were eager to help, all one has to do is flip the sign to "come over and check up on it." Located right in the shops at Yale, this establishment encourages you to play with your food! read more

My fiancé and I enjoyed a nice brunch on the patio here at Place 2 Be! The strawberry shake was decadent, and we always love to get an order of the breakfast nachos when we brunch here. Their New Haven location might just be the most stunning one yet! Great vibes on the patio - it was nice to be elevated on the second floor away from the street, and there was plenty of shade. Before dining at The Place 2 Be, I often saw people post about their super Instagram-worthy food and drinks, and figured I'd try it out. Though they have multiple locations, including Hartford and West Hartford, the New Haven location is closest to where I live. So I made a reservation for a Saturday night to have dinner there. The inside of the building was pretty cool/hip. They have funny signs around like a neon one that says "Drink My Bathwater," which is located above a bathtub filled with plastic balls that you can take pictures in front of, and the women's and men's bathrooms say "WAP" and "DRIP DRIP" respectively. You view the menu and place your order via a QR code on the table, and the servers only come over to deliver your food and drinks, or if you need something. For a drink, I ordered the Apple Cider Mimosa, which is their current seasonal cocktail. It was Prosecco mixed with apple cider, rimmed with caramel sauce and sugar drip. While the presentation was amazing, it just tasted okay. It was mostly Prosecco with not much apple cider, and also a little warm. For my appetizer, I ordered the Gold Mine Nachos. The menu described this as "Nacho wedges topped with chopped steak, cheese sauce, pico de gallo, jalapeños, and pickled onions" drizzled with sour cream and edible gold. While it sounded delicious, and also looked delicious, I found out that "Nacho wedges" were not actual tortilla chips, but instead what seemed to be undercooked potato wedges. I was really disappointed because I was looking forward to actual nacho chips, and I didn't like the potato wedges at all. For my main meal, I ordered the Cowboy Burger, which included cheddar cheese, sautéed onions, bacon, and barbecue sauce, topped with an onion ring, with a side of fries. The burger and fries were pretty good! Lastly, I ordered a Chocolate Milkshake for dessert, which was HUGE and super chocolatey. It was really good, but I couldn't drink it all. The waitress was friendly and attentive, and my food came out pretty quickly. Overall not a bad experience, but as the 3-star rating indicates, it was just "okay." While the presentation was 10/10, the taste and quality of the food was lacking, and I had really expected better based on the social media posts I had seen beforehand. read more

Popped in here with my family for breakfast after spending the night at the Omni. I had read a few not-so-great reviews, but now have to think those people are dumb as stumps. Was there a bit of a wait for our food? Sure. Guess what: you don't have to cook your own breakfast today. Maybe just wait a minute and drink your coffee. Have to say, this place was a BLAST. Fantastic service, massively creative and broad menu, great bar service, wonderful and friendly staff... we all enjoyed it. The visuals around the restaurant were really interesting (don't miss the tub!). The ordering is unique in that it's all done in an app, but the ability to split a single bill across the table is quite nice. Very cool. I had a delicious coffee + espresso, and the presentation was phenomenal (also great coffee to boot). My daughter won the best ordering award for her mouth-watering churro French toast. Can't wait to return, especially when it's warm enough to dine outside, as they have a really nice patio as well. read more
I had always wanted to try The Place 2 Be and was so excited when I saw that they opened one in New Haven!! I absolutely loved the atmosphere, the service was pretty good, and the food was really tasty! I liked my mimosa as well! I will definitely be returning with friends this summer! I recently placed a door dash order with this restaurant and was HIGHLY dissatisfied. Here's a list of my issues: -Missing items: I was missing quite a few items from my order. Keep in mind this was close to a 40 dollar order -Quality of the food: For reference I ordered a steak and egg quesadilla and a breakfast burrito. They were both EXTREMELY oily. I've added pictures for reference. For an order this price i just wish the food was worth it. Unfortunately this time around it wasn't. read more
We really liked this place! You definitely want to go on their website and make reservations so when you get in you get seated. We ran into a couple who just walked off the street and were told it would be at least an hour wait. The hostess and waitress were quick to get us seated and explained the concept of ordering. Essentially their is no waits to take your order. You click on the QR code and makes your order and eventually it is delivered to you when ready. The concept was easy to figure out and not too difficult. The restaurant has two floors of dining, we sat at the first floor in some high top tables, they also have a bar area where one can also eat. It was a really cool vine, we had a great view being seated by the windows. For our meals my girlfriend wanted brunch so she had the morning rooster, which was chicken and waffles. I had the bacon cheeseburger with sweet potato fries. We loved both our meals. The portions were enormous and they both tasted so good. The menu is filled with all kinds of extra sugary treats but as I am trying to avoid any more sugar than I need to, it was a hard pass for me. But if you E interested to see the amazing sugary delights just take a look at the many photos and you will get it. Ultimately, we enjoyed our experience and will definitely come back. read more
My wife had wanted to to come here forever, so finally we made it here for Mother's Day brunch. We'd originally planned on going to West Hartford, but at the last minute changed up and went to New Haven. I'm giving it 4 stars, but overall the experience was kind of weird and mixed. The food was all fairly decent. You're coming here to eat so this has to be the most important thing right?Photos below of everything we ordered, with the Cookies and Cream pancakes being the star of everything. Foodwise the only comments we had was the breakfast nachos needed a LOT more cheese on them and I added a side of hot sauce because they needed something bold to pop the flavor. And the waffles in the chicken and waffles were very soft, would have been nice for them to have a bit of texture and crunch. Price wise it seemed fair for the experience you're going for though no free refills on coffee and to add alcohol to a beverage was very expensive. I get that this is a trendy brunch spot catering to the social media crowd, which I definitely am not and if I was less open minded I'd have been more frustrated with. No online reservations, but you can add to the waitlist before you get there. Wasn't necessary for us because we went in before 9 on a Sunday and it was fairly empty. We have a 10 month old and they had no high chairs. There were no other kids there when we showed up, they just hadn't gotten any high chairs yet. Fine if you'd only been open for a week or two but after a few months? Weird. All the ordering is done online. Ok you can easily update, it's contactless, no issues with servers inputting your order wrong into the system. I usually like to look what they have before I dine somewhere but this wasn't possible here. I almost took a screen grab video to try and post on here but couldn't. But there seemed to be other people in the restaurant getting things (particularly beverages) that we had no idea how to order or find on the menu. And because there were large carafes of water on the table the wait staff barely came around. Weird. When we were sat and explained how the ordering worked they explained no matter what you ordered it came out when it was ready. So one of our meals came out way before the others. I'd have saved my coffee to go with my meal, but it came out so far before my food I put in an order for a second cup (not free) so that I could have one with breakfast (fortunately it did come out with the food). Idk maybe they think it's part of the charm, but I call it more weirdness. Overall my review may seem negative, but it's really not. It's just trying to set expectations for other people so they are aware going into it. We rarely go out for brunch (maybe once every year or two) but there were tons more on this menu we wanted to try and would absolutely go back. read more
This is a place to go for the vibes, not necessarily the food, and definitely not for a group outing. Their Toast Tab system means that the food comes out whenever it's ready but in reality that means that by the time the last person gets their food, the first person might have already finished..even in a party of two. After I'd eaten here twice, this place has been review bombed on Facebook because of complaints from a former employee which makes me wary of returning. But I will say that personally, I think my food experiences have all been fine. This is just not a place you can wait for everyone's food to come before digging in. read more

The owner was very rude! It was a group of us waiting off on the side and she said "you guys can't stand there you can either move or go shopping or something while you wait". Keep in mind she only said that to the group of black paying costumers. The place is really nice but the customer service was absolutely disgusting. We were told our waiting time was an 1hr and 30mins and after I talked to the owner about how rude her comment was, she was no apologetic and very defensive. I told her I would wait the remainder of the 25mins and somehow our wait time kept being pushed back because "the tables aren't cleaned yet". After waiting for over 1hour & 45min we decided to leave. The overall experience was terrible because of how the owners run their business and speak to their costumers. Even the way the owners was speaking to there employees was in a disgusting condescending tone. Wouldn't recommend! read more
The ordering process was incredibly frustrating, as everyone was expected to order on one phone, on a website that malfunctioned often and was difficult to use. Though the Oreo Pancakes appeared to be packed with Oreos, it was really only the top pancake that was decorated. Though, the pancakes were very fluffy. The Cinnamon Churro French Toast was my favorite item, toasted golden but still fluffy on the inside. Although the bottom layers didn't have the same level of toppings and sauces as the top layer, they were still delicious and sugary. However, the Nutella latte was a disaster. It was served with chocolate around the rim, and drizzled all over the plate, adding nothing to the drink but a mess on the table. Although tasty, it was pretty much a catastrophe. While our food took a considerable amount of time to arrive and was rather expensive, I was impressed by the trendy, contemporary decor. read more

My Queen and I arrived at this restaurant for breakfast, and the staff/management was extremely welcoming. We definitely like the decor and vibe at this place. My Queen ordered the french toast and turkey bacon, I decided to have the fried hard egg whites with homes fries. My Queen was extremely pleased with her meal, but my meal was okay at best. The fried hard egg whites were okay, and the home fries were less than okay. They added small diced red and green peppers to the home fries, which is new to me. Overall, awesome service, and my Queen was happy!!! read more
The Place 2 Be NEVER disappoints. I've been a huge fan of their Hartford and West Hartford location so I had to come check-out the New Haven location. Let's just say - it was GLAMOROUS. Place 2 Be New Haven has 2 floors and it's beautifully decorated with a bar located on each floor. The interior was IT. It had the signature P2B yellow, tons of rubber ducks everywhere, and the gorgeous vines wrapped around the columns and walls! We ordered bottomless belinis, their new Southern benedict, Greek omelet, fruity pebbles latte, and Americano. The food is always consistent and fun. I loved how perfectly poached my eggs are and found it to be a fun twist on eggs benedict! During our brunch, the fire alarm went off and I was so amazed by how professional the team was and how well they handled getting us all out for safety. Bravo to the team for great communication and keeping us updated about everything. My partner and I checked-out while we were waiting outside but we could've stayed there for HOURS to enjoy the vibes! It's a great location and so fun! I don't think this is the place 2 be... the atmosphere was cool but just too much. The music was so loud I couldn't even hear the person across my table. The way to order food is just simply annoying. You have to scan the QR code in front of you which is fine but you never actually talk to your waiter. I personally really like talking to the waiter and making connections which is why I find reason to tip them. Here you just do everything yourself and still have to give them a tip. Also the phone service in the restaurant is awful which is also fine but at least have public WiFi for your customers so I can order my food. The wait for the food was unfortunately over an hour long, thankfully I had my gf to keep me sane while waiting. (I went to eat at 12:30). When we got the food it was actually really good! Friends and I decided to give this new restaurant in New Haven a try on a Sunday morning. Arrived at 9 am before the crowd and were immediately seated. There are no menus. You order and pay for your food via your phone. I suppose we could have put our orders together, but not sure it would have given us the option of putting in 3 payments, so we each placed our own order. I am guessing that could be an issue with food coming to the table at the same time for everyone, but it wasn't an issue since it wasn't busy. Food options can be likened to the Sugar Factory at Foxwoods. You can choose from breakfast options or lunch/dinner. Large drink menu, but our mimosas and bellini's that you select the flavor of, were not great. We couldn't decide what to order so we each ordered an entree and then shared chicken and waffle sliders. I wish they put the syrup on the side instead of drizzling some on because it made the waffles soggy. We all agreed this was just an ok dish and I was glad I didn't choose it as my main entree. My main entree was the Classic Benny with seasoned home fries. It was good, but not great. My friend ordered the breakfast nachos that she liked very much (best thing we ordered) as well as Oreo pancakes. My other friend ordered the Churro French toast with home fries. Both these dishes were sweet and filling. We will visit again and bring our teenage daughters, as I suspect they will enjoy it. By the time we were done eating a line had formed at the door to get in. With their location in the heart of Yale I'd suspect they will do well. read more
