Flat white

A very wonderful study spot or place to relax for an afternoon. Poindexter is a gorgeous cafe hidden in a hotel lobby. All are welcome, you don't have to stay at the hotel, and they're quite generous with letting you linger for a bit. The space is beautiful with lots of chandeliers and a mix of wide open seating and a little nook, all of it decorated with many fun paintings. The coffee is quite good. I had a flat white last time and it was very good. Kinda pricey, but good quality plus I got to enjoy the shop's ambiance for a while. Also worth knowing, decent amount of outlets, kinda slow wifi.

Tucked inside the Graduate Hotel, Poindexter feels like a cozy retreat from the modern world. Between the wood-paneled charm, friendly staff, and smooth lattes, I practically walked out feeling like I'd earned an Ivy League degree, without the tuition! It's the kind of place that makes you feel as if you've been transported back to a simpler time.

Very cute New Haven spot inside the Graduate hotel with great wifi and seating options. Outlets are available which make it a great spot for catching up on some work.

STUNNING! The coffee is amazing and the place is beautiful! As a barista myself it is always great to find a place where they know how to do coffee. Definitely recommend!

Solid coffee! Nothing crazy going on here, but a good place to get a cup of coffee and a quaint ambiance.

I've become a creature of habit when ordering due to my deep rooted love of the Wild Alaskan Salmon Bowl....total swoon Thank God for friend dates! We sat there enjoying our time and their space for multiple bourse. The peaceful energy absolutely kept us there longer than we anticipated. Everyone ordered something different and the sampling did not let me down. Now, I have ordered other things before I became a loyalist and they were all realllyyyy good...I just love that freakin salmon bowl lol. When getting a salad I often get the goat cheese and apple salad since I'm a fan of fruit on salad. They have a great selection of smoothies that are so fresh. When ordering you have the option to build your own bowl, salad, smoothies, etc. and it's echoed in their store set-up. This was my first time being in the physical space (and it certainly won't be my last). What a warm, calm, and inviting space to be found in the middle of downtown New Haven. It is located across the street from the Shubert, so there is easy garage parking and green parking. I love this place. The people are equally kind and helpful. Don't think twice, this is a must stop for a great quick serve meal.

The place itself is kind of cute but the food is what really made me give this place a 2/5.

Came here because I needed to pick up something vegan for a work celebration with cake, and this…read morecame highly rated online! I walked in, briefly walked around the store area, which seemed plentiful with options, then went to the cafe area off to the side. There were many different baked goods on one side, with more cafeteria type food on the other side. I opted for a pistachio cupcake and a lemon cupcake. The person working quickly packaged it up for me and I was on my way. At around 4 pm on a weekday there were quite a few people there making it lively, but it wasn't a long wait. I tried the pistachio cupcake myself and texture was really great, nothing obvious it was vegan. My coworker had the lemon cupcake and loved it, said it was filled with lemon curd and a definite step up from Whole Foods vegan cupcakes. So I'll definitely be back here to grab as needed! In the future I'd love to try the meals.

In addition to being a very well stocked grocery store with plenty of organic fresh produce, a good selection of bulk nuts, beans, flour and such, and many boxed, canned and frozen offerings for the vegetarian and vegan diet, if you head to the second floor you'll find all of the herbs, vitamins, supplements and answers to your questions if you have them about such things. Head back downstairs and order a wonderful smoothie, sandwich, or something nutritious and delicious from the hot bar - all vegan or vegetarian. I love the tofu salad, the falafel, and the tempeh reuben - my favorite. After ordering turnaround and allow yourself to be tempted by one (two? of the various vegan and vegetarian desserts. I love the vegan blueberry lemon scones and the vegan Boston Cream Cake or cupcake. The smoothies are amazing! I enjoy the veggie juices, Brenda's Brew or Vulture. Atmosphere is very comfortable. Service is friendly, they do get busy so be patient - the food, drinks are worth the wait if there is one.
