    Tomato tart
    Alexis B.

I stopped by Atticus Bookstore Cafe with my husband and some friends for breakfast in New Haven a week or so ago when we were in town for a day. Our hotel was a few blocks away, and I loved the idea of a bookstore cafe. We ordered coffees and pastries or breakfast sandwiches. I had a tomato tart that was very delicious and an iced americano that was very good as well. And then I wandered around the bookshop for at least a half hour. No, it's not a huge bookshop. So I was surprised by just how great the selection of books and other gifts was: used books, new books, bookmarks, t-shirts, gifts... I picked up three books and a t-shirt and then I had to get out of there before I bought more books than I could take home on the train! The service in the cafe and in the bookstore were great. I just really enjoyed my visit to this little bookstore cafe!

A great place for books and casual food and drink. There is a separate area for the cafe however you can peruse the book store while having a coffee or other drink. I ordered an Americano coffee to go. The server was friendly. I held the coffee while looking at the cards. Unfortunately the coffee was extremely hot and when I took a sip it burnt my lips, the inside of my mouth and my esophagus on the way down. I'm writing this the day after and still have plenty of discomfort on the roof of my mouth from it. If the coffee spilled it could cause severe burns. This is an unsafe situation. I mentioned that the coffee was too hot to a worker there and she agreed that the coffee is too hot. Thats it.

This is a cute, cozy cafe in New Haven and I'd highly recommend checking this place out. It's lively with students studying, working, people meeting and talking. It's an authentic cafe experience, perfect for an autumnal morning. You can sip on your coffee and enjoy breakfast peacefully while looking at the colorful trees outside. The ambience is stellar with the bookstore inside giving it a bookish and studious feel. The service is also wonderful. Water is available too. The food is fresh and delicious. The French toast latte is heavenly. It has the perfect mix of cinnamon and spices without being too saccharine. The frittata egg sandwich is done well, with a piece of thick egg arugula and Swiss cheese. Though, personally, I wasn't a fan of the caramelized onions. The sandwiches are worth trying at least once to form your own opinions. The mixed berry rye bread was moist and delectable with a nice crunch from the oat streusel on top. Overall, I loved this cafe/bookstore!

    Breakfast menu

$7 for regular toast and a packet of jam. The matcha had a dark layer of green film atop but underneath it was not mixed well, had chunks. Lovely cafe and bookstore, with a welcoming vibe but some food items are not quality.

A fun little spot to grab a coffee and browse for a bit. Nestled in the heart of Yale, opened in 1975.

Atticus classic sandwich and Arnold Palmer

Great bookstore/cafe steps from Yale campus with plenty of room to sit and a friendly atmosphere. I ordered the Atticus classic sandwich an Arnold Palmer. Both were very good; though the sandwich may have been better with toasted bread- and be warned that the Dijon mustard is extremely pungent. The pastries on display also looked delicious and very tempting. Service was very quick and straightforward. Nice little spot to get a snack or read!

Atticus is split into a bookstore and a cafe. I stopped by and it was super busy but the wait went by fast. There's multiple tables where you can sit and chat. The crossiant was HUGE. Flavor wise it was a bit dry and lacking the flaky layers. The quiche was not bad. I wished the crust was baked a bit more. Overall, a great place to stop by for a quick snack and coffee. latte sub w oat milk (5.50) quiche ($9) crossiant (~$5)

A cute bookstore and coffee shop across the street from the Yale Art Gallery. The breakfast sandwich was good - fried egg, bacon, and arugula on a brioche bun. Friendly staff.

Cute little bookstore with a great staff. We had coffees in the afternoon and came back for breakfast the next morning. Lots of healthy options you can grab and go or enjoy while sitting there. French toast latte was delicious!

They used to have the best Mexican hot chocolate when I went to school there-- it was the first thing I have in CT that reminded me of my home. I don't see it on the menu and wanted to visit soon... do they still serve it?

The black bean soup was topped with diced onions and even came with sour cream that had cilantro folded into it.

Possible Futures is a bright, colorful, quirky bookstore in a little corner of edgewood. I came…read morehere for an album-release event hosted by my friends which Lauren, the owner, graciously supported. Walking around the store, I perused through all of the carefully curated book selection from culturally-savvy children's books to invigorating reads on advocacy and change-making. The store's environment is one of warmth which invites you in for a friendly cup of tea or one of their many events like a mahjong night I'm looking forward to attending. Once you make it, you'll want to stay and have a convo with the many regulars who swear by the magic of this store . Everything about this place embodies acceptance and welcome. Possible Futures is my new favorite bookstore in New Haven and I cannot recommend a place more. Bonus: Lookout for Sugar, the bookstore puppers!

I told the owner, who was holding a book club…read moremeeting, that I was happy about that because I had seen a picture of the dog while researching the store and I figured that the dog wouldn't be there anymore because it was a three year old picture. They all laughed. After that, I took a cursory look at the fiction section. Then I wanted to look at the nonfiction section, which was next to the book club. I observed them for a minute out of curiosity. The novel they were discussing seemed interesting. I then spent a good five or ten minutes skimming through a book I found interesting and looking up information about it online when the owner walked up to me and asked me to go to the other side of the store because she thought I was eavesdropping and worried it might make the others uncomfortable. I apologized and sat down in a chair for about half an hour while I waited for the meeting to end so that I could browse that section again, but I eventually had to leave because I ran out of time and needed to be elsewhere. The book selection looked good from a distance. Wish I could have checked it out. At least I got to pet a dog, though.
