Finding a place to park was miserable. I parked in Sally's Apizza small little lot. Despite the signs thank goodness I did not get towed! Every person we encountered in Ero Cafe was super friendly! I got a Vietnamese Coffee which was good but strong! I also got a cookie butter iced latte. Now that was Yummy! I used the Bischoff cookie on top to eat the whipped cream. The cup was smeared with cookie butter which made my day! For lunch I had a steak panini. The steak was a shaved steak. The cheese pull I wish I would have gotten a picture of. Along with the panini came a unique salad it was well chopped cucumbers, tomatoes, (another veggie or fruit was in there but I could not tell what is was) and a garlic oil. Im not a big veggie person but this salad was delicious. If someone else was driving or nicer weather for a walk I would for sure go back! read more

The experience was disappointing from start to finish. The staff came across as cold and unwelcoming, which set a negative tone right away. All of the food arrived cold, and our table was initially given the wrong order. After it had already been handled, the staff took it back and served it to another table, which raised serious concerns about hygiene. My cappuccino was also served cold, and the coffee itself was very acidic and not enjoyable. Instead of making a new one, they poured it into another cup and reheated it with the steaming wand--even though I had already taken a sip. That felt unsanitary and unprofessional. Overall, there were multiple issues that suggest poor food handling practices. I wouldn't return. read more

I was excited to try this cafe particularly because of their matchas. I ordered a passion fruit matcha which is different. The matcha itself was a bit more bitter and astringent than i'm used to and it didn't pair well with the passion fruit which was quite sour. So the drink was not my favorite. Perhaps other flavor combos are better, but I would prefer to go somewhere else for matcha. read more

Omg. I LOVE ero cafe. I wanted to try the banana bread matcha but they were sadly sold out (she said the syrup takes a couple hours to make), so the baristress recommended a cotton candy matcha.. sounded cray but I took a chance... IT WAS SO GOOD. next time I went they had a guava and cheese matcha????? Im like ok I love guava and cheese but as a matcha flavor is nuts. Once again was pleasantly surprised, it was so good, and so unique! My celiac friend had the gf chocolate muffin and it was SOOOOO good and moist. Everybody that works here is so sweet. Ordered the matcha flight: guava & cheese, banana, ube & strawberry. All were delicious but the guava & cheese and banana were both my favorites. Steak empanada was a good little bite to go along with it. They have other good little bites in the menu as well. Guava & cheese was so good I had to take it to go. Enjoyed another great experience today at Ero Cafe. I ordered the Iced Latte Flight with the Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Ube, Vietnamese, and Cookie Butter Lattes. All delicious, but my personal favorite was the Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I loved that the Cookie Butter came with an actual cookie on top. I went here after visiting Sally's nearby and I'm so glad I did! Not only is the cafe beautiful but they offer matcha flights, which was an instant yes for me. You get to pick four so I picked Blueberry, Ube, Strawberry and Passion Fruit. While they were all great, my favorite was the Passion Fruit - it was so good! I definitely recommend this cafe if you're looking to enjoy a beverage in a beautiful atmosphere! read more

Such a cutesy spot with a rustic vibe! I like the makeshift bike/napkin station near the entrance, super unique. I saw the collab with follow Elite Jamie for a Cherry Garcia hojicha latte so I had to stop in ASAP. I got the latte iced and it was so so delicious and almost reminded me of a Neapolitan milkshake. The raspberry danish was heaven! Warmed perfectly and so flaky. There's seating outside available with a cute grass patch. The service was quick but I wish it were a bit friendlier. #34 in my NEW ENGLAND & NY COFFEE SHOP SERIES Saw this place on Instagram and had to try their matcha flight! Super aesthetic flight, drinks, and interior. Overall, a great place to study and grab drinks! In terms of our matcha flight, it was a bit disappointing. Wish it had more matcha flavor. Overall, just tasted a bit watered down. But the coffees we got were very good, not overly sweet and strong! They also have other monthly specials and food items as well. Across the street from Wooster street entrance in the bottom of the new buildings/residences, this is a busy, but unique cafe. Parking, as most know in this area, is not easy to find. It's really more of a neighborhood place, which I'm sure is quite welcomed there. They have a good selection of matcha and hojicha along with the usual espresso/coffee drinks as well as a small menu of food items, most unique to the area. I ordered a strawberry matcha, a steak & cheese and a plantain empanada. The matcha was served in a real glass and layered as is typical, but it was difficult to mix with the flimsy straw and the first sip was all strawberry. The overall taste was a bit weak. The empanadas were small, but baked (I believe), which made for a healthier version than is typically available, and very good. When there's a chocolate chip cookie, I have to try it. Decently long waits for less than average cold brew and muffins. I ordered a Key Lime cold brew that absolutely no resemblance to a Key Lime in any capacity. I ordered a blueberry muffin, and the owner handed my wife a substitue blueberry bread, just assuming I would be ok with the substitute (without actually asking my preference). Not the best experience near Wooster street I've had (to say the least). read more

This cute little coffee shop is located in Wooster square just on the other side of Olive and Wooster apartments. The location is perfect, can be a great way to end your night after enjoying some newhaven pizza! They have a good amount of seating with larger tables good enough to sit to enjoy coffee or get some work done. The staff and owners are so kind in helping us order, and making sure we enjoyed our drinks. My friend and I both ordered the chai, and like the menu says "real chai, not the fake stuff you're used to". Stopped by this new little sweet Café on Olive Street right across from Sally. What a great new addition. I had the Ube cold foam white chocolate latte. The coffee was great. The people were wonderful. Truly loved the owners and staff. Love the general vibe of the shop have a little swing in the corner lots of comfy seating and a great design aesthetic. The speciality coffees are good, the atmosphere is nice. I'd recommend it for a quick drink. The food was not worth staying for- the salad was just a handful of bitter lettuce so not really a salad. The omelette only had one option for cheese, one type of bread and then my order came out wrong and not great :/ I don't know if the cafe is new and maybe they're still working out the kinks. Or it's just not for me, the other reviews are very different! read more

I ordered the Ube matcha latte and it was delicious! I also met the owner and she was so kind and hospitable. I love how they make their Ube in store and make it more "natural" versus the standard fake syrups. It's super cute on the inside and very clean. Their matcha is also ceremonial grade which if you're a matcha lover you know that's the best!Definitely a great spot to check out! read more

We arrived a bit early and were cheerfully greeted by Mike G, our server. The atmosphere was welcoming and relatively quiet, since their musical offering does not start as early as our 5:00-7:00 PM time slot on a Tuesday. We had asked for the waiter Christian because he had been mentioned in several of the Yelp reviews, but Mike proved that the service compliments should go to everyone. First, the tapas: We enjoyed all five of the tapas we chose. The "Calamares" were lightly battered and crispy. The Vinas salad was fresh, with tomatoes, cheese, corn, and croutons. The pork belly was delicious and more meaty than expected . The oyster mushrooms were presented with onion crisps. The baked birria empanada was stuffed with brisket style beef. Each of these "courses" was a unique delight to the palate, and for me and my partner, it was completely satisfying. In keeping with the spirit of a "wine bar," Vinas offered a flight of 4 wines in 3 ounce glasses, and after hearing about our food choices and wine preferences, Mike chose the wines for us, giving us a chance to taste some less familiar offerings. We had the Felino Malbec 2024 (Argentina), which became our favorite for its full-bodied and deep flavor. Our second wine was a unique Don Abel (private label) from Wallingford CT, made by one of the relatives of the owner, specially for Vinas. This one reminded us of the local wines one might receive in a B&B in the Loire Valley in France. The final two wines were both from Chile: Reserva Carmenere 2023 and Cabernet Sauvignon Marques de Casa Concha 2022. Both were excellent wines. It was great fun to have Mike choose the wines for us, and we really enjoyed the variety that the flight offerings gave to us. Of course, we had to try a dessert, and Mike recommended the Toffee Cake. We had heard that the owner claimed that some people cried with joy after eating it. Although we restrained ourselves, we had to agree that this was an extraordinary conclusion to a fabulous meal. Overall, this was a great experience for us, and we heartily recommend Vinas Wine Bar and Tapas for a relaxing and welcoming dinner. Some reviews I had read suggested that the portions were too small for the price. I have to disagree. My partner and I love food, and this was plenty. And the price was reasonable. Including tip and tax, we spent about $75 each.
