I just drove 30 miles to come here on a recommendation from a friend because I love pie and because I do all my baking from scratch. Here is what I saw. A women rolling out dough who was extremely pleasant to talk with, some cut pies in the case looking a little tired and because it was a day during the middle of the week, the selection was not as it would be on a weekend. I ended up ordering the strawberry rhubarb which I think had a little too much thickener in it as it stood a little too firm and was also extremely tart. Yes, I expect rhubarb strawberry pie to be tart but I ended up putting half a pack of sugar on top of the crust. None of the crusts on the pies were very brown, and although totally baked through, I myself would have preferred a little bit more color. The place is cozy and you can watch the women putting the pies together. There are also two tables by which to eat a piece of pie. But what actually bothered me more than my piece of pie is you have a pie shop that advertises premium pies and the crusts are made with Krusteaz pie crust mix. I truly couldn't believe what I was seeing. If you're going to have a pie shop, make the dough from scratch. There are many people who wouldn't know the difference or probably don't even care and think these pies are to die for. They're good, but I don't think I would make a trip back anytime soon, if at all. Disappointing... read more

Quality has REALLY gone downhill; pies hardly seemed baked with pale, doughy crust. Such a disappointment to see this local gem fall so far.

The pies are fantastic. I don't even usually like pie but their crust is so divine and light and crispy it has given me a different impression. The pies are quite large and thick. Normally they sold slices as well as whole pies but temporarily during pandemic shutdown they only were selling whole pies last week. (More than i needed but I froze half and it thawed out well) They have both dessert and dinner pies like Shepard's pie- curry pie- chicken pot pie. I've only had the fruit and cream pies so far. Sometimes I wish they had more basic fruit pies - some of them like apple and blueberry have a layer of cream at the bottom and crunchy streusel on top which is delicious but very sweet so do check if you want just a fruit pie. The mixed berry is all fruit. Tiny little storefront in old town. Worth a visit if passing through enumclaw or as a repeat customer. read more

I'm very selective about pie, since I myself make really good pies. I was walking by this place yesterday and decided to buy a Black Forest Lush pie. Sheer heaven! Delicious. It had a layer of cream cheese whipped with cream, then homemade cherry filling, then chocolate filling, then whipped cream. It was presented quite prettily and presliced. It was amazing. They have a reader board letting people know what whole pies are available. They akso have savory pies. I plan to go back. read more

Well, let's just say we were disappointed....Took one bite of the coconut cream and immediately threw the pie in the garbage...Went to QFC and bought a lemon tart which was delicious. We make it a rule to support our local Mom and Pop's, however, at $5 a slice, I'm not willing to give it another chance. This place used to be awesome and we would order pie instead of getting a birthday cake for my hubby. This year we went with his favorite, apple pie. How do you mess that up? Well, Pie Goddess figured it out. First of all, the top crust crimping was not uniform (considering I'm paying $29 for a pie) and the vent slits were in a circle... that wasn't even centered. Only the edge had any hint of browning--the rest of the crust was reminiscent of my pasty white thighs. The middle of the pie was sunken in rather than domed (keep in mind they couldn't even get it to be flat). There is a simple reason why... the filling has no discernible chunks and is exactly like eating cinnamon applesauce. Not even exaggerating. On top of that, the crust is so thin that it's hard to tell if it's even flaky. Yep. It's pretty much one thin flake. I would have been better off buying Treetop applesauce and saltines. Incredibly disappointing change in quality! Won't be going back again. read more

The pie goddess pies are on on my guilty pleasures. After seeing a profile piece on pie goddess years ago on rv we have it a chance and were thrilled with the product. After way too many pies, we took a little break to relieve pressure on our waistlines. When we heard that the shop had changed owners, we were apprehensive when we decided to pick up a pie for out of town guests..... We couldn't have been more pleased to find the new owners have improved on an already great offering. The pies themselves are wonderful. Still true to the original owners model, but with much better inventory. In the past, arriving after 3pm usually left me picking over the final leftovers in my search for dessert. The last two times there the selection was still great and I could get exactly the pies I was craving. The pies themselves are a little pricey in my opinion, but they make fantastic pies. I ordered 3 desserts for Thanksgiving after this bakery was highly recommended to me. When I called, I asked the gal if they sold a cheesecake. I know this is the PIE goddess, but lots of specialty bakers will branch out now and then. The gal told me they offered a salted pecan cheesecake. So I pictured a cheesecake, topped with pecans and salted caramel. I also ordered a pecan pie and dutch apple. When I arrived I asked if there were any extra pumpkin pies as I had forgotten to order one, they said yes. At $28 a pie, I have certain expectations. One of which, is they make the thing from scratch. But after I had checked out I noticed on the back counter a big box of Kruteez pie crust mix. Not excited about that, but trying to stay optimistic. After I got to my car I got to looking at the pies, as they had been boxed up when handed to me in the store. No cheesecake. It looked like they had given me two pecan pies. I took the supposed mismarked box back into the store and kindly let them know I was given a mismarked box, no big deal, it happens. But a gal tells me that no, it's a pie with cheesecake in the middle. Not at all what I was expecting. They didn't apologize or anything, but sort of played it off like "duh it's a pie". I was honestly really upset, but didn't feel like I had any options except to take it back to my car at that point. So we get to serving the pies on Thanksgiving. The pecan pie was fine. Not *great* but fine. Not worth $28. The "cheesecake" one was even less worth it. A VERY thin layer of cheesecake filling, and it did not taste like salted caramel at all. It was basically a repeat of the pecan pie. The pumpkin pie was very "meh", as one other reviewer said, it was like squash and eggs. And was a bit burned on top. The Dutch apple looked the most promising but was exceedingly overseasoned, it just tasted like cinnamon and nutmeg, the apple was totally overshadowed, and had a soggy bottom. We saved it by warming it up and heaping it with whipped cream. TLDR: All in all I paid over $120 (because, yes I tipped not knowing how disappointing it was going to taste) and drove an hour each way for 4 disappointing pies. I always want to support small businesses and had hoped to be able to recommend this one, but I just can't. read more

I'm sooooo disappointed. We've gone to Pie Goddess for years for our Thanksgiving pie. Something's wrong in 2021: I called to reserve a pie to pick up on Tuesday, since Wednesday was full. I had given the woman my name and phone number, but I have to wonder where she wrote it down, because they had no record of my reservation when I showed up at the appointed time on Tuesday. I thought I was leaving pie-less, but they scrounged up an "extra" one, which was a little burned on the top, but otherwise looked okay. We just sliced it and served it, but it's going right in the trash. I don't like an overly-sweet pie, but pie needs SOME sugar ... this pumpkin filling has NONE! It tastes like what it is: squash and eggs -- yuk. $28.00 down the drain. What has happened to Pie Goddess? Who's asleep at the wheel? Never again. read more

I've been driving down Griffin for a couple of weeks now, watching this place go up, wondering what'd it'd turn into. Wondering why the Pie Goddess sign on the side of Cafe Panini had come down, thinking maybe the woman died or something and that was the end of the Pie Goddess before I got around to eating at Cafe Panini--something I wasn't interested in doing except I'd heard these things about their pies... No more. I saw the sign go up, waited until the lights went on, and today--I saw a woman cutting pie and two very anxious people waiting at the counter. I mean...what do you need except for two cases of pie? No coffee, no drinks, although the woman says they plan on doing coffee later, no nothing except for what's got to be the world's best pie. And I was a skeptic--nobody can be so fabulous. But I'd been hearing word on Yelp that it was worth the trip to Cafe Panini just for pie. Hey--it's worth the trip to "Enumclaw" for pie. From Bothell. The woman behind the counter was so nice, she was fitting ten pieces of "different" pies into a pie tin for a little old lady who wanted a sampler. Twenty dollars. I kid you not. Twenty two dollars with tax. You can bet I got the sampler. Mixed berry, coconut creme, banana creme, chocolate creme, peanut butter creme, lemon creme, apple, pecan, chocolate chip, yes I felt like a pig. But a happy pig. You get to choose whatever you want. Ten pieces. Good deal. The woman (who has the patience of a saint and the talkiness of a born gossip) told me the owner will try to make any pie you can think of if you call and talk to her, and that they already had pie reservations for Thanksgiving. I know I always get the six dollar Costco pumpkin pie special, but....maybe it's time for a change. The mixed berry is so good, tart--incredible flavor, perfect flaky homemade crust. The coconut creme...oh my God. Perfect custard, lots of coconut, just the right amount of whipped creme to make it stand up straight. Nice. Very nice. I have lots of pie left. Family wanted to do something special as a surprise for Father's Day but sugar/carbs recently became a no no. When asked if they had anything sugar free or no added sugar, unlike other shops around they did not say no, but just asked for a little time to see what they could come up with. What they came up with was a spectacular peach and raspberry pie that was not only low sugar, it was delicious! Thank you!!! I stopped here for lunch after a hot ride broken by lots of roadwork on Hwy. 410. This tiny shop on the corner has space for a small table inside and two more on the sidewalk. It is mostly for take-outs with many different kinds of pies including chicken pot pie. The lunch menu is very limited. I had a very good small pasta salad with cucumbers, olives and pine nuts. The pie was superb: an apple pice that was spicy and not too sweet with perfect crust and firm apple slices. read more

We got a variety, chocolate Lush, lemon (lacked lemon flavor), peanut butter finger (could use more flavor than sweet), we enjoyed the apple pie (not sure what was on top but it was tasty), and the butterscotch (think it had pecans on the crust but could have more butterscotch flavor) over all think my husband enjoyed it but we will keep looking for a pie spot. read more

Oh my God, I can't believe she's not five star across the board. We had three pies at random, the Oreo, the apple crunch, and the toll House cookie. I got a banana cream pie in March, and I appreciated that they were accommodating (they didn't have one, but they made me one and I just had to return in a half hour to pick it up), but sadly the pie was tasteless. It needed sugar and something to give it banana flavor (banana extract or something). Good texture and attractive presentation, but the taste was very disappointing. read more

With working from home and staying in for so long now we just needed a road trip, so we went from Sammamish to Puyallup, stopping for Dutch Bros Coffee, then back via Buckley and Enumclaw. The Pie Goddess caught our eye and we love pie so we stopped by. There is a great variety of pies, making it hard to decide, but we ended up with 3 slices: Peach/Raspberry, Butterfinger, and Cherry. All were delicious. The staff were quick, friendly, and with good safety practices. Too bad they are an hour away, but we will be back to try other flavors. read more

We've been fans of the Pie Goddess for at least a couple of decades. We've moved from the Renton Highlands to downtown Seattle, and are now living in Maple Valley. Being an easier drive from Maple Valley, we expect to worship at the altar of the Pie Goddess more often. The dessert pies range from very good (fruit pies) to downright sinful (coconut cream). I sometimes think I should feel guilty after eating a slice, and do penance for my indulgence -- perhaps eating at McDonalds. The only savory pie of hers that we've eaten was the chicken pot pie. Other than being a bit too salty, it was excellent. I'm told that they offer 51 different pies, so there's a rotating menu. You might want to call ahead to insure that your favorite one is available. Plan on a take-out, as the dining area is miniscule (two tiny tables). It was nicer when they shared space with a panini restaurant, because lots of seating space was available (which might explain why the restaurant closed). Her pies are sometimes used as "bait" for charity auctions. We were told that one fetched $1700, while another brought $1200. That's some serious pie! read more
