Visited this place for a birthday dinner and found a nice happening spot. Got there a little after 5 and there were not many people, by the time we left after 6 the place was packed. Had the special of the day which featured three pan seared scallops and coconut crusted prawns. Scallops were a little on the small size, but for the price of the meal it was well worth it. Prawns were nice and big and cooked perfectly. Everything sat on a bed of wilted spinach topped with a tasty homemade pesto. I had a cup of Thai chicken & rice soup for an appetizer and it was amazing. Lots of flavor and spicy heat. Great to see a small business doing well. I have heard lots of positive things about this restaurant. My husband and I have been once before they changed owners, and now, one other time since they now offer Indian dishes. I have had Indian food but not at a restaurant. I stuck to what I'm familiar with, butter chicken. I chose medium spice level, which was perfect. I'd say if you never had Indian cuisine, try the butter chicken. It's the most popular dish. It was delicious and on point. I think we will be back and try other dishes. Indian Dishes come with what they call naan, it is nothing like naan. Tastes and looks like pizza crust, even has the oven marks on the bottom. Indian flavors are on point, but he doesn't use traditional coconut milk, just heavy cream. TBH it's like he's gone cheap and is trying to save money. We probably won't be back sadly. read more

I recently visited, and was served a frozen patty for the veggie burger. The samosas seem like they came frozen and heated up in the oven or something. They were like 85% dough and hardly anything inside. The nam bread was exceedingly doughy, seeming like it came out of a package. I hardly ever leave reviews on anything, but this is such negative experience that I felt like I would be doing a disservice to my fellow human beings. If I didn't review this restaurant here. If I could, I'd give it 0.2 stars out of five. If you come here for a drink, that's probably your best move. I'd highly recommend finding a different place for your food though. read more

When I think of fine dining, I don't normally think of Enumclaw. I was pleasantly surprised to stop into this eatery and find fine city dining in a tiny little town. I had the baked cod that was on special and my husband has the salmon Niçoise salad. The cod was buttery, creamy, with the right balance of a fishy taste and a sauce that compliments the meal. For sides, I got steamed carrots and wild rice. My husband's salmon was just a touch over cooked but still delicious with a wonderful pesto sauce and delicious vinaigrette dresses that balances with the creamy sauce on the salmon. As I sit at the window taking in the ambiance of small town Enumclaw, I hear the employees greet each new guest as if they're family. This place is absolutely a must visit. Very impressed on our first visit tonight for dinner. The restaurant has a lot of charm inside and the staff were all smiles and so friendly. I ordered the special, pesto ravioli with Chicken and asparagus and my wife ordered the smoked shrimp. The food tasted better than any Italian I've had in years locally. The burger looked appetizing, but the barbeque aoeli tasted overpowering or the beef burger was under seasoned, I'm going to go with beef under seasoned, because I can't fault a barbecue sauce for being a little sweet. I tasted the bacon in the stuffed burger and that did nothing to enhance the taste of the burger. I made a reservation to have dinner with my mother for a special occasion on 9/9. It's a Friday, so I get that our local restaurants can get busy. When we arrived for our reservation, there were a couple of large parties (6-8 tops) and a few smaller 2-top tables. When we walked in, there were a couple ahead of us picking up a to-go order. While the gal up front was busy taking care of them, another server passed by us several times with no greeting, no acknowledgement. We waited approx. 15 minutes, and during that time, the lady up front was obviously being inundated with phone to-go orders. So we waited. And waited. There were no available tables to be sat at, so we offered to sit at the bar table facing Griffin Ave. We were fine with that, because it's nice to people-watch and enjoy the sun setting. We had menus in hand for a good long time before our waitress came over for drink orders. I ordered a glass of red. Water and wine came promptly. We ordered an appetizer of clams, and also placed our entree orders at the same time. I ordered the NY strip, and my mother ordered the chicken breast with cream and mushrooms. Fast-forward 30 minutes. Our appetizers hadn't arrived. No one had checked in with us, but they were very attentive to the larger groups seated in the back of the restaurant. When our clams arrived, they were sitting in a lovely pool of clam jus (with the jus all over the lip of the bowl, it looked unsightly), and no bread to soak up the broth. There were 4 un-opened clams which were inedible. We were given one small gratin dish with a dried-out lemon wedge for our shells. When the waitress brought out the clams, we were given apologies for the wait. I'm pretty easy-going, I have worked back-of-house for 2 decades and I get that things happen. What I *don't* get - We were never checked in on. We waited an additional 30 minutes for our entrees. We didn't get water refills. Our silverware for our dishes was forgotten. The owner (Amy) herself ran our food out to us. I could see her in the kitchen busting her a$$ and there was no reason she should have had to do that. After Amy had brought our entrees out, suddenly we seemed to matter. We were literally ready to just pay for the clams and glass of wine and leave to another location as it was 8 PM. Waitstaff offered to bring steak knives (for... the steak... because I didn't have one), and I asked for another glass of wine. Steak knives were eventually brought out, but another 15 minutes rolled around and I didn't receive the wine. FOH staff were eager to remove our half-finished entrees while we were still obviously enjoying the food and chatting. During this attempt to remove our plates, I asked about the glass of wine I had ordered. Got a side-eye and the glass of wine on the house, so thank you for that. I wouldn't mind paying, but things were getting pretty ridiculous at this point. My review is STRICTLY for the front-of-house staff. I don't know what we did to feel ostracized from your attention-span (I have a lot of tattoos? I don't know), but it really put a damper on what was to be a nice occasion with my mom. I know that this restaurant was put under a lot of fire for the vax-card days, and I think that Amy is an incredible chef and has amazing food, and is so passionate about her business. I want to support that. I *get* that restaurants are severely short-staffed these days. However, from my observations, there were no reasons why any of the above should have happened. I will give this place another chance, maybe mid-week. The food was delicious, but the lack of service really left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

So happy we found found G & W! Hands down this was the best bacon cheeseburger we've had in like forever! It was a fresh hand formed burger, not one of those nasty frozen pre-formed patties. So juicy and seasoned perfectly. Attention to detail with the sauce and arugula and toasted bun. We had the mushroom soup and a healthy side salad with homemade poppyseed dressing leaving us wanting seconds, lol. Since it was our cheat day, we are so glad we indulged on their vanilla buttermilk ice cream and lemon bar for dessert. Went there last night and although it's cute and quaint and the waitress was nice and the food was tasty. It took a long time to get our food. It was not busy. The main heater was broken so they put little heaters at each end to which was no help . It was freezing. I stayed bundled in my coat, scarf, hat . I had mentioned it several times. They did turn a heater from across the room outward more and I said maybe they could move it a little closer. Nope they couldn't do that wouldn't be fair to others. Then a couple came in ,were seated close to the heat source and were allowed move and turn it directly on them, taking away from everyone else. They only got desert and we had meals. That was the last straw, it was way to cold to enjoy the meal . We had to box it up and go home. I think they should have had a sign in door letting people know the heat isn't working but if you don't mind the chill come on in. read more

Ate here again with my wife in mid-March 2018, this time for my birthday -- another great meal and experience. We had the fresh potato chips, corn chowder, brussels sprouts, and salmon Niçoise salad. So delicious!! They even brought me fresh strawberries instead of the ice cream in a shot glass cause I'm on a diet!! Love this place!! Ranks up there with great restaurants in Seattle or Tacoma. Went to the street festival in Enumclaw last Friday and ran into this nice Cafe. Only outdoor dining due to Covid, but they supplied heaters which made it nice. Service and food was very good and the wine prices are awesome. I went for the pork chop, one of their signature dishes and it was VERY good, highly recommend. Such a great little place! Went based on yelp reviews and after looking online at the menu. Online search said they didn't open until 3:30 (on a Saturday). Glad I called to double check because they really opened at 12:00. Portions were huge for the wraps and sandwiches. We got the fig/ goat cheese appetizer. That was the best. Absolutely delicious!!!
