I got Monastirskaya Izba cake, poppy seed and blueberry roll and cherry pyrozhok/pierog The pros Lovely atmosphere Great selection Great service Delicious poppy seed roll even though not very fresh The Cons The poppy seed roll, although delicious, was not fresh. Fresh poppy seed roll is soft and very aromatic. This was a day old. The cherry pierozhok wasn't good. The dough was very dense, unlike pierozhky dough is supposed be, very little filling and also not freshly made. Definitely the day before. The interior is very cute, lots of Ukrainian designs on the wall, and the overall atmosphere is great. It's located in a great spot downtown. The food, however, was a major disappointment to me, unfortunately. - The coffee was almost watered down. It seems like they don't calibrate their coffee machine so that it pulls the correct shots each time. - The "Cinnamon Apple Crepe" is very deceiving; it is just cinnamon apple jam. Therefore, it is so unbearably sweet. I thought it had actual fruit in it when I ordered. - The plum piroshki was something we were very excited about, but it was 90% dough and not warm. Major disappointment as well. - The quiche was ok, but the dough was soggy and not crispy as most quiches are. The food was sadly subpar, but the music they play was a little awkward as well. I assume they just play a random Spotify playlist and don't know what's playing, so I kind of get it. It was vibey until you listened to the lyrics. Coffee was smooth and delicious, I just got drip but they make specialty coffee/espresso also. Stopped by while on the way home, parking is limited which can be a problem if you have trouble getting around. That said, a lovely bakery with a nice warm inviting interior. The women working there were delightful and happy to give us a taste of this amazing grandmothers pie which had pear and something else and not a lot of sugar. Yummy. We got samples of lots of things and had a couple of the savory ones for dinner. All were very tasty although I thought the crust a bit thick on the piroshki. However the potato and mushroom filling was super good and would like to try the other flavors. I am writing this as I am waiting on my latte to be ready after waiting for over 20 minutes. The young lady at the register is not very pleasant, didn't even say hello, but did inform me that that the egg sandwich I wanted would be at least 30 minutes. So I declined. I got up about 15 minutes later and still waited to see if my coffee was ready and if I could add a food item to go, multiple of what seemed employees are just talking in the back, and the gentleman next to me asked how long it would take for him to be able to place an order. One of then women said she'd be there soon. I was then told that it's just one of those days as not one of the 5 women talking in the back got to making my coffee. It's unfortunate as I've been wanting to come in here several times (across the street from where I get my nails done). The place at first glance looks cute with a lot of appealing displays of baked goods. But today is the first and the last. Oh goodness if I could give a zero star unfortunately I would. The pie crust was so hard it took them 5-10 minutes to just cut one piece. I realized once we got the pie it was because the crust was so so bad We couldn't eat the pie so left it. If I had actually paid the 60.00 for an entire pie with crust like that I would have been incredibly upset. For an establishment with PIE in the name I would really recommend they learn how to make a pie. Really skip spending the money here. read more

Hello! I am here to say, "thumbs up both hands for Pie Style! I invited two friends, one from Federal Way, to have an early lunch at Pie Style. We were greeted warmly and tried to keep our eyes on lunch items before we gave in to dessert. I had a salmon piroshki and a small salad. They were both delicious and fresh with a generous serving of avocado slices on the salad. I took home some great scones. I'm getting hungry writing this. The atmosphere is lovely with music and stylish lighting. This is a good place to come alone with a book or talk to friends over coffee. The service was top notch. I have only one suggestion. Pie Style is a new Ukranian bakery in the downtown Auburn area. The interior is lovely - very open and bright space, with plenty of great seating and open-concept kitchen. They service not just Ukranian pastries and dishes but coffees too. I find their prices to be rather high for the amount of food I'm getting. Their cakes look amazing though and if I can justify the price it will be what I'm getting next. read more

She was patient in explaining all her savory and sweet bakery items. Poppyseed with blueberry roll - she just baked some and gave us one fresh out of the oven. Wow, this was so good! The roll was soft and sweet. The blueberry and poppyseed filling was so good. Honey Cake - the owner did say this was her specialty, "Super Sweet." This was delicious, but being the first time ever trying this. Yes, it was super sweet. Beef & Cheese Piroshky - I didn't really taste much cheese. But the ground beef was good. Pastries are always old tasting. I keep trying new things but so far, the only things I enjoy are the savory ones. Coffee is good, service is hit or miss. The language barrier is very difficult. She, the baker, said it's one of the best selling items...believe her because it's a best seller for a reason (absolutely, w/out a doubt, I stand w/conviction, it is delicious!!). We tried a piece of peach pie (they've got assorted whole pies), beef & chicken piroshki, apple strudel, and a slice of Monastery Hut. Added plus, we got there in time to also pick up a fresh, like steamin' fresh, white loaf of bread. The peach pie may be just a bit on the sweet side, just a bit but that didn't stop me from eating it in 3 bites. The Monastery Hut is exactly as defined on the website - a little tart, and a little sweet. It's a unique taste with a perfect blend and I wish I had it with a cup of mojo. The desserts were delicious. The cake was fluffy. The cupcake was so good I was sad we didn't get two. I paid $20 for 4 items which I think is a good price point. Found this place looking around online and I am glad I went! They are a super small shop located in Auburn and make great piroshkys. I will have to go back and try the rest of the flavors and baked goods because today (Saturday) at 11:00 the food was flying off the shelf and there was only limited flavors left already. When I got in at 11:00 all that was left for piroshkys was -Cabbage and Mushroom (vegan) MY FAVORITE ONE so far -Potato and Mushroom I think (last one) -Spicy Polish Sausage (last one) -Beef (last one taken by group before us) -Chicken & Cheese had just got done (waiting about 6mins for fresh ones) So if you want the full variety I would go during a weekday or earlier on the weekend! I definitely wanna go back and try more though. They are so soft and delicious. The Cabbage & Mushroom was my favorite probably followed by the potato one. The Chicken one was okay and I would eat it again but not my favorite. My roommate ate the Spicy Polish Sausage one and said he liked it a lot, each bite was not a huge punch but felt like someone putting some spicy sauce with each bite which he enjoyed. The owner is from Ukraine and a sweet woman. She told me some history about the cake and how they make it in Ukraine. I also decided to buy a potato piroshky that was very good as well. Very good seasoned. But back to the cake. This cake has sooooo many layers omg. It was a bit intimidating to try. The first bite....I didn't know what to think. Definitely not a typical cake, not a taste that I was used to which is what warranted the second bite lol I just kept taking bites because it was soooooo different but so darn good!!! Amazing Ukrainian bakery! Lots of options and new pastries to try. The shop was small and cozy, limited seating outside, but it happen to be a nice day when we visited. The lady (owner?) who helped us was informative and sweet when we visited. Gave us recommendations and what her family's favorites were and what was fresh out of the oven. I am so happy to have found this little bakery. Auburn doesn't have much to offer for great restaurants or delis or attractions. This place, with fresh baked breads and cakes is one of them! I wasn't expecting the crisp crunchy outer layer of the bread. I wasn't expecting the soft and hot inner layers either, but once the heated bread came out my nose knew something great was going to happen haha. Ok ok imma calm down now. But seriously, I ordered the salmon, apple, mushroom and potato and feta with basil and peppers bread roll and wow, I loved all of them! Loving all of them is difficult because new year new me starts with minimizing carbs but im proud to say that on the day i ate here that restriction went out the window!
