The pictures looked great and very enticing so we took a ride over here from Kent just to try it out. We bought the: 1. Honey Cake - Would be good with tea b/c it was a little dry and a bit too sweet. 2. Cherry tart - This was pretty good, but I prefer more crust to my filling 3. Cheese cake - If you are accustomed to NY style cheesecake and love cream cheese, this may not be for you. This caught me off guard. The filling was not very sweet and the texture was curd-like and airy. Perhaps this is the European style of cheesecake? 4. Raisin cupcake - Well we thought it was a cupcake b/c of the shape and the cream on top, but tuned out to be more of a sweet bread. Not bad. 5. Beef and cheese bun - Similar to baos/manapuas/piroshkis. It was alright. A little dry. Overall, although I do appreciate the handiwork of bakers and the time and effort that goes into hand baked goods, I just wasn't satisfied with the taste or textures. Hidden little shop, with delicious perogies. I got one of each of the savory ones and the one with the cabbage was definitely my favorite. Everything is freshly baked and you can even call something in and they will bake it for you! Sweetest ladies who went above and beyond to make sure i got what i wanted. Very expensive for the food we got. The honey cake was not that sweet, and the mocha was not sweet at all. We think the syrup or chocolate just sunk to the bottom. The pierogis were underwhelming and didn't have much filling. They were between five and ten dollars each which we thought was steep. I wouldn't go here again. This bakery is a small shop tucked away in a strip mall, easy to miss, and wedged between the laundromat and grocery store. I stopped in while waiting on laundry, met the business owner and found out they had only been open for two months. They opened a NEW small business during a pandemic ! Note: I ordered latte, and it appeared not with regular milk, but some soy or almond, idk, I don't like artificial milk taste, wish they asked me before making it if it's alright to replace regular milk with something else. read more

We found this place by accident, it is located on East Main (if you are taking M street, depending where you are coming from it is either the right or left, next to a teriyaki place in the same building as Auburn valley humane society thrift store). I am still exploring Auburn and was looking for a place that sells meat pies and savory desserts that isn't too sweet. We ordered the salmon, beef, and polish dog for our savories (and yes I can eat all of this! :-) the bread around each ingredient was soft and yummy. The apple was straight out of the oven so it was still very hot! It was sweet and had some spice to it. The key lime pie was not too sweet and it had the lime zing I've been craving. Over all I will come back here to order more to share with some friends. The owner recommends to give a 2 days window if you want to order a lot. I was looking forward to ordering their famous cheesecake but they didn't have it at the time, so I'm looking forward to coming back for it. If you're wanting to try some savory and sweets with your coffee and on the go this is your spot, come early so you can get more selections! read more

We stumbled on this place on our way to Gig Harbor. We don't know anything about Ukrainian food but mt husband loves pie so we decided to give it a go. It's a delightful tiny little shop. The owner was friendly and explained everything to us. She recommended the honey cake. It was delicious! We've never eaten anything like it! We also got a dessert with sour cherries and a cream filling. It was beautiful and delicious. We will be stopping there on the way home. So tried this out based on the reviews. Would be five stars but two things. Got the beef and cheese twice.... no cheese. Had 3 from 3 different batches. I feel they are small for the price as 2 don't fill me up. They are hand made so if your a light eater then may be good value to you The piroshki is good. If you like Kaleenka's (my favorite) from the fair they are similar, not flaky like the ones from Piroshky Piroshky. Bread is crisp on outside soft in middle. Again if not expecting cheese then the beefl is good. I didn't love the feta and peppers but that's just me. Needed salt? Tried several desserts. The monastery hut..... absolute deliciousness. Not to sweet, great textures..... reason why i went and will go back. Strawberry rhubarb bread was good flavor and dough was light, more like a bread than a cake, delicious. The cheesecake, didn't like it at first. Not the texture i'm use too. More light and fluffy. Blueberries on the bottom? By the time i was done though..... loved it. Just be aware it is different but good. Don't expect cheesecake factory style. Will get again because I appreciated the lightness when I was done. Have some type of strawberry crumb thing for dessert tonight. Excited. Go here for the desserts and you will not be disappointed. Her piroshki could be bigger. The owner was closing early on Labor Day Saturday, but she was nice enough to stay open for a few minutes longer so we could buy a few remaining piroshki. Every single item on the menu is so good and homemade. The two Ukranian ladies bake on the spot and even warm up your pastries. The inside of the store is spotless and there's lots of parking.
