Everything about the Phoenix Pastificio is 100\10. I discovered them on the TooGoodToGo app. They get major points for trying to refuse waste and truly hooking people up with incredibly delicious fresh pasta for 3.99. Like serious, I got at least 2.5 pounds of ravioli trimmings. I cut them up and portioned them out. I cooked 1/3 and had enough bolognese for a week, and I have two more bags in my freezer. It's such a hidden gem, you'd never know they supply grocery stores with fresh pasta from the outside. It's super beautiful and authentic Italian vibes inside and out. The man who helped me was SO kind. He answered my questions and gave me a cookie for free to try their baking. I will 100% be back to support them. I love them!

One of my favorite pasta proprietors now has a physical location just off or Hopkins St near many other wonderful local shops. The Phoenix Pastificio has the most delicious fresh pastas, including their unique Meyer lemon pasta, and delicious handmade raviolis.

I got a fresh pasta at stonetown farmers market, and it taste delicious! I prepared half with a white sauce, and other half just with some butter and the lemon taste give it a delicious taste. The man who helped me to choose is was very kind. I definetely plan to go back get some more pasta!

It's a good place for a laid-back atmosphere. The restaurant is fast casual. When you enter, you can look at the menu and place your order. It's pretty much self-serve aside from them bringing your food. With that said, the limited interactions we had were pretty mediocre. What's fun is that it's a build-your-own spot. You choose your own pasta and sauce. They also have items such as sandwiches and salads. My best friend and I got the same thing--Rigatoni with Bolognese. I opted for no cheese on top. The pasta was al dente, but I definitely wish there had been a bit more sauce on the meat. The portion was decent for the price, but I do feel like I could make this at home. So if I come back, I'd opt for something else. The Italian Homemade Company has a few locations throughout the Bay Area. This one-off College Ave. is great for a quick pasta pick-me-up. You can find street parking in the area.

The food came out quickly since there was no other customers ahead of us. I enjoyed the pappardelle noodles length and firmness. Each bite had a good chew to it. The lamb ragu was very lamb forward. It was the right amount of ground lamb to carrots in the ragu sauce. My son enjoyed the meatballs and the flat bread that came with it. He mostly ate the bread, dipping it in the marinara sauce. The size of each meatballs were like a good scope size ice cream. This was a good lunch to a relaxing day of shopping with my son.

We found it very tasty, but paying over $25 for this on DoorDash--certainly not worth the price even though we really enjoyed it. The spicy chicken parm sandwiches were not good. The chicken breast was flabby, and came across like it was one of those frozen cooked Tyson jobs. I would be very surprised if they actually breaded chicken breast, fried it, and made the sandwich with that. It was mushy, and the breading was like paste on the chicken. Pretty awful. They charge extra for sauce, which is a little much, given that we paid $21 for each sandwich. But we figured out pretty quickly why they do this: there was hardly any sauce on the sandwiches. And precious little cheese. We each ate half of our sandwich and figured we doctor the leftovers up the next day with a jar of Rao's and a bag of shredded Italian cheese. That helped, but nothing could save that chicken. The meatballs. We paid $15 for four, and we had high hopes, but they were so mushy that they fell apart in the sauce, and I couldn't tell what was sauce and what was meatballs. The only flavor that came across was fennel. Why any meatball should be so fennel-forward strikes me as bizarre. We got what we thought were pretty basic things, and they were fails. If an Italian place can't make a decent chicken parm sandwich nor a decent meatball, that says something. If you go, try the pinsa.

For our drinks, I had the Moonlight Blossom, my aunt had a glass of red wine, and my mom had a cucumber mint spritzer (mocktail as she was the DD). The moonlight blossom tasted similar to cherry limeade. The entrees we had were the mussels, veggie burger, and the chef's market pizza. The mussels themselves were tasty and appreciated that they were able to leave out the chorizo. However, I wish that they brought a spoon and there was more broth. I tried some of my mom's veggie burger and the red color from the beets made it stand out from the usual veggie burger. The fries tasted homemade. I had a slice of the pizza and while I like the ingredients themselves, the combination just didn't do it for me. The crust was good though! We also shared a green goddess salad, which was tasty. The desserts looked amazing but we had no room! Service was friendly and our waitress made good recommendations. Can park on the side streets or the garage. Restaurant was not noisy. Would come back to try other items, especially dessert.

I got the vegan spicy tomato pizza and my friend got the shakshouka. We also got some herbal tea to go on the side. The tea came out pretty quickly and tasted great. The food also came out pretty quickly. The presentation of the pizza was top notch and I could not wait to dig in. The portion size was adequate. The vegan cheese was yummy and the spice level of the pizza was just right. The pizza was packed with flavor and thin crust! My friend liked the shakshouka too. He said it was flavorful and tasted great! Over all, we loved this restaurant. The ambiance is very welcoming and they have farm to table concept. Starting with an arresting blow-up of Italian movie star Monica Vitti behind the checkout, it's a visually pleasing emporium because it's not overcrowded with idiosyncratic products. The wine collection is particularly interesting with labels unknown to me. I've been tempted by the delectables in the Grab & Go section, but I've demurred for the sake of discretion. In fact, having almost no knowledge of any of these products, I only recently bought something here because I want to support them. I got a box of Rooibos tea and a jar of Hawaiian masala (Photo 10). I look forward to buying more in the future, though one thought I had was that this store would benefit from samples. On a previous visit, there was a bakery pop-up in front (Photo 8), and I think more of that activity could encourage more in-store traffic. It'll be interesting to see how this business evolves.
