Everything about the Phoenix Pastificio is 100\10. I discovered them on the TooGoodToGo app. They get major points for trying to refuse waste and truly hooking people up with incredibly delicious fresh pasta for 3.99. Like serious, I got at least 2.5 pounds of ravioli trimmings. I cut them up and portioned them out. I cooked 1/3 and had enough bolognese for a week, and I have two more bags in my freezer. It's such a hidden gem, you'd never know they supply grocery stores with fresh pasta from the outside. It's super beautiful and authentic Italian vibes inside and out. The man who helped me was SO kind. He answered my questions and gave me a cookie for free to try their baking. I will 100% be back to support them. I love them!

One of my favorite pasta proprietors now has a physical location just off or Hopkins St near many other wonderful local shops. The Phoenix Pastificio has the most delicious fresh pastas, including their unique Meyer lemon pasta, and delicious handmade raviolis.

Meyer Lemon

I got a fresh pasta at stonetown farmers market, and it taste delicious! I prepared half with a white sauce, and other half just with some butter and the lemon taste give it a delicious taste. The man who helped me to choose is was very kind. I definetely plan to go back get some more pasta!

On a random night when I was craving pasta, my husband took me out to try this spot that everyone…read moreseems to rave about. After finally trying it for myself, I can definitely see what all the hype is about. I kept it simple and ordered pasta with the white Alfredo sauce, and honestly it was one of the better pasta dishes I've had in a while. The sauce was creamy, rich, and really satisfying without feeling too heavy. Sometimes the simplest dishes end up being the most memorable. The portion sizes are pretty generous, and the prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get, which makes it even more worth it. Ambiance: Very much a college-town vibe with lots of students around, giving the place a lively and casual atmosphere. Staff: Quick-paced and efficient, but I never felt rushed while dining. Glad to say I found my go to for pasta and will for sure be back!

I got their pesto calzone for $15. Huge, but not very good (I got sick of it after a few bites) and took over 20min for a takeout place. The pesto was oily and a bit bland. Chicken and the thick dough tasted cold and very dry. Ambiance is not nice to sit at, feels like an indoor taco truck. This place probably isn't in my top 5 for the area because its not too good and it takes a long time, but if someone wanted to eat here I wouldn't argue against it.

We…read morecame here after class one day; even with our last-minute planning, we were able to secure a table for the six of us that evening. We shared a plate of the tossed green salad and crispy Brussels sprouts, in addition to two pizzas - Fun-Gi and the Spicy Tomato. The crispy Brussels sprouts stole the show - the deep-frying created a smoky flavor and melt-in-your-mouth texture that was equally loved by vegetarians and non-vegetarians in the group. The tossed salad was decent; the lettuce was heavily coated with oily dressing, which I think could have used more acidity. The Fun-Gi pizza was our favorite of the two pies - the hint of truffle oil and rosemary took this mushroom pizza to the next level. I also loved the light and airy crust, which had the perfect amount of crispiness. I wasn't as much of a fan of the Spicy Tomato pizza; while I really liked the unexpected sweetness from the tapenade, the cashew cream drizzle seemed out-of-place. The ambiance of the restaurant was whimsical and warm, providing the perfect backdrop for my friends to linger over our meal. The outdoor seating also looked very charming, and I imagine it would be nice to dine here on a warm, summer evening.

Great selection of gourmet goodies-- I regular go in for snacks, cooking sauces from around the world, ice cream, canned drinks, honey & condiments. Appreciate they have plenty of vegan options. They also have a good selection of wines. The owners & staff are super friendly. They love to chat & answer any questions you have. It's a small but mighty space. Starting with an arresting blow-up of Italian movie star Monica Vitti behind the checkout, it's a visually pleasing emporium because it's not overcrowded with idiosyncratic products. The wine collection is particularly interesting with labels unknown to me. I've been tempted by the delectables in the Grab & Go section, but I've demurred for the sake of discretion. In fact, having almost no knowledge of any of these products, I only recently bought something here because I want to support them. I got a box of Rooibos tea and a jar of Hawaiian masala (Photo 10). I look forward to buying more in the future, though one thought I had was that this store would benefit from samples. On a previous visit, there was a bakery pop-up in front (Photo 8), and I think more of that activity could encourage more in-store traffic. It'll be interesting to see how this business evolves.
