So about 3-4 years ago, we began having a problem with German Cockroaches. They were infesting our…read morekitchen and it was slowly spreading to the dining room and our guest bathroom. We keep a fairly clean house and we couldn't for the life of us figure out where it was coming from and why we had it. We wanted a solution, but didn't want to pay a long-term monthly contract for a place to keep coming out over and over again. We weren't made of money afterall! We tried battling it ourselves for about a year. We tried evacuating the house and "Bug bombing" it.. followed by roach traps everywhere. Nothing worked long term. So about 18 months ago I had my wife call around and she came across Ocal. They answered all of our questions and offered both one-time and subscription pest services. Gabe came out and inspected what was going on. Upon inspection, he informed us that the infestation probably was due to a piece of furniture or something that was brought in externally years ago that had bugs in it. He originally quoted us a price of $325.. with the possibility of $375 if the infestation was big enough. As it turns out, he charged us $375...which I felt was a fair price...if it worked. He used a particular kind of food bait and secreted it in all the problem areas we had pointed out to him. He stated that it would take approx 3 treatments, 2 weeks apart; and gave a 90 day guarantee with additional visits for free during that time if needed. The results, even after just the first treatment, were astounding. Merely a week after the first treatment we saw a vast reduction in activity. After the 3rd treatment was done, we asked him to come out one additional time because we thought we noticed some activity. Last summer was the true test of if it worked or not, as insect activity tends to increase in warm weather. I'm happy to say we were BUG FREE and have been since then. Such a relief! I must admit, Gabe was pretty confident that his treatments would work; and I was a bit skeptical. But he really came through for us. I highly recommend Ocal Pest Control. They were friendly and professional and took care of our problem as promised, and there prices were very reasonable. It doesn't get any better than that!

The pigeons had decided that our panels would make a great home. There was a ton of bird poop that had built up over the years and it was falling into our back yard in sheets. The price they quoted us was completely reasonable and the work they did is top notch. They were able to schedule the job within 2 weeks of giving us the quote. The job took about 3 days because there was a nest with little baby birds in it, so Ecoskan had to come back a couple of times. Once the birds vacated the property, the company was able to finish up. Their customer service is also top notch. Heather was our contact person and she was always very prompt in getting back to us when we had a question about scheduling or billing or whatever. Efforts by Hatch Pest Solutions to exclude mice and chipmunks from my cabin in the woods appear to…read morebe performative at best. After sending me a message on the phone that they found a number of dead mice and dead chipmunks last week, on the third billed visit, with no mention of exclusions, the VP of Operations, Lisa, now claims that they have sealed up the outside of the house. I haven't confirmed this because it takes two hours to drive up there. On the next visit, they plan to sanitize. My husband now tells me that Hatch employees who came out for the estimate said there's a monthly Hatch customer in the forest nearby. They said they sanitize using Pine Sol. They didn't bother to inspect the space underneath the cabin. I've now had the very unpleasant experience of researching what it actually takes to exclude mice and chipmunks from a pier and beam cabin. Rodent borne pathogens require industrial enzymatic neutralizers, not scented household cleaners. The urine of mice and chipmunks can be detected by other mice and chipmunks from hundreds of yards away, acting as a beacon for proven habitats such as my cabin. Chipmunks are great diggers and have to be excluded using industrial grade steel hardware trenched underground. If exclusions were done correctly, I won't be a monthly customer for Hatch, which is probably really their goal.
