David explained everything and guided me through the steps and the type of material they use for rodent exclusion - wire mesh and concrete. The other places use wire mesh and foam. My rodent was able to chew on several things so I knew the foam wouldn't cut it. They came out and worked on my house ​for over 5 hours. David walked around with his team and showed them areas and they dispersed and took care of various areas of the home. My friend and I also showed them areas and they also took care of them. David and his team didn't appear to mind that we asked them to check certain areas. In the end, David also double checked the areas from his initial review to assure they were taken care of. They were a great team that worked well together and had great smiles. They also vacuumed and did several sanitation sprays in the crawl spaces and wherever I saw the rat. The price was high according to others that I spoke with but I am happy so far from what I saw and experienced. It gave me peace of mind. The charge did not increase based on how many or how big were the holes. So no surprise charges. One company told me the holes they block range from $20 to $100 per hole depending on the size and material they use. David and his team also photograph before and after pictures which was helpful and you can ask to see them too. Hopefully the rodent or rodents will be gone. There will be someone coming to check every couple of weeks and sanitize each time they check. Again, David and his team did a great job and they respected us, the customers and each other. They explained when asked and were kind and respectful. I say, do your research, ask around but definitely give Ocal a consideration as one of your estimators. After sending me a message on the phone that they found a number of dead mice and dead chipmunks last week, on the third billed visit, with no mention of exclusions, the VP of Operations, Lisa, now claims that they have sealed up the outside of the house. I haven't confirmed this because it takes two hours to drive up there. On the next visit, they plan to sanitize. My husband now tells me that Hatch employees who came out for the estimate said there's a monthly Hatch customer in the forest nearby. They said they sanitize using Pine Sol. They didn't bother to inspect the space underneath the cabin. I've now had the very unpleasant experience of researching what it actually takes to exclude mice and chipmunks from a pier and beam cabin. Rodent borne pathogens require industrial enzymatic neutralizers, not scented household cleaners. The urine of mice and chipmunks can be detected by other mice and chipmunks from hundreds of yards away, acting as a beacon for proven habitats such as my cabin. Chipmunks are great diggers and have to be excluded using industrial grade steel hardware trenched underground. If exclusions were done correctly, I won't be a monthly customer for Hatch, which is probably really their goal.

They were out here within a day or so, confirmed it was a gopher, and set up traps to capture the gopher. Sure enough a few days later when they came back the gopher was in the trap! They didn't stop there, their quality of work was admirable because they came back a few times after to ensure nothing else got in the trap and the gophers were truly gone. THAT is what gave me peace of mind and I would trust them again to deal with any rodent issues going forward.
