Come and Take It Burger and Fried Pickles
    Ashley L.

Went to have some drinks at Vida Lee and found this yummy food truck here. I asked for the spicy burger he had and he recommended me the come and take it burger and recommend the fried pickles to go with it. I got to say it was a great recommendation I would go back to get it again. Plus the customer service was great he was very friend in which I found out he was from pretty much where I was from so it was nice to meet him!

This food truck is fine. It's middling. When a place has a focus on burgers I defer to how they cook it standard to start as I expect them to know best. The truck itself looks really cool and I love the Thicket Food park location. They're the only burger spot in the park and I had high expectations after having had the other food like the hotdogs, coffee, and breakfast trucks. We decided to pop over and go specifically to the Perfect Bite to, well, get some perfection burgers to bite into. Overall, the experience was fine. The employees were super friendly and approachable. The food took about 15 minutes because it's all cooked fresh and that's to be expected. So let's break it down. Starting with sides. The fries were cooked perfectly. Crispy and light exterior with a fluffy warm interior. Everything you could want. The chips were H-E-B brand salted chips right from the bag to the tray. Easy, simple, nothing special but just what you'd want. The burgers. Overall the flavors were on point. The bacon was nice and a lip smoky. The egg thought was cooked in a perfect circle form a la Starbucks or McDonald's style. Either in a ring on a flattop or microwaved. Not sure. Somehow when it was handed to us the yolk was still runny but by the time we sat down and got to the middle of the burger it was cooked through. The buns had a hefty char on the top but didn't impart that taste and were incredibly good. I don't think they make them so I'd love to find the brand so I can start using them at home! So, that leaves us with the meat. The star of the burger show. Sadly, while with flavor, it was over cooked and a lil dry. I think the spot has potential and with the thickness of that patty id love to try it again and ask for a done-ness level of rarer to see what this burger can really be! But for now as it comes, it left me not excited nor truly disappointed.

Brodie burger with bacon and fries, , $18.25 before tip. Very uhhhhhhh not good.

Maybe the dude was having problems with his equipment, which is why it took 45 mins without a line, but the food was just not good. Overcooked (and/or previously frozen?) burger with bacon and fries: $18.25 before tip. The fries were fresh, so I'm guessing the dude cooked the burger and had it sitting there getting cold while he made the fries. Italian sandwich sucked too, but it was at least hilarious. Nice quality bread, but something a little more generous than a 9:1 bread-to-meat ratio would've been appreciated.

Not a mushroom Swiss, but it's definitely a burger.

I just ordered from this place for the first time. The guy got my order wrong in a big way. What I ordered was a mushroom swiss with grilled mushroom and onion and chipotle Mayo. What I got was a $14 burger with cheddar on a dry bun. No mushroom, no onion. He was new he said, and he caught the cheddar mistake before playing the food, but I didn't realize he missed the entire half of the burger I was expecting. Plus, the fries weren't cooked enough- I popped those bad boys into an air fryer as soon as I got home. My husbands burger at least had the bacon and Swiss cheese he wanted, but there was no chipotle Mayo either. Poor guy was a little flustered so I feel bad he was new and having to handle everything all by himself, but also not happy to spend money on something and not get what I asked for too. The bun is very buttery, burger patty a little dry. Good quality cheddar though. I'm pretty bummed I paid $35 for what I got.

This is my first review of 2021, and I'm excited to start this year on a high note, with a 5 star review! I'm going to tell you how badass The Perfect Bite is. My husband and I had lunch here today, and it was the best decision ever. This food trailer is in The Thicket food/retail trailer park off S 1st, and it's super cute! Lots of trees and shady picnic benches, lots of yummy food trucks to eat at, a coffee trailer that looks quite bomb, and even a hair and makeup trailer! Oh and also... Simpli Thai has a lil pick-up trailer out here, so you can pre-order any of their goodies (Thai meal kits or sauces) for pick-up too, while you're out here! Onto the important stuff: The Food. I had the Honey Lime Grilled Chicken Sandwich (add avo, bc, duh) and my husband had the burger. Holy Food Coma- so good, and we both stuffed our faces and ate everything on our plates. The chicken sandwich is juicy, saucy, and flavorful- would dare to say it's the Top 3 grilled chicken sandwiches of my life. Messy AF, so grab lots of napkins or order fries and dip your fries in the cheesy, sauciness that will inevitably drip from your sandwich. The burger was great too! The meat was perfectly cooked to medium, and that croissant-esque bun was MONEY. I will for sure ask for that same bun any time I order a sandwich from this place again. Also, just want to mention the guy at the counter was really nice and helpful! Can't wait to come back and try more of the sandwiches here.

The location is cute for sitting down and to eat/talk. Overall The Perfect Bite was decent. The burger was cooked fresh and the bread did stand out as if it were made from scratch, the people were friendly and did enforce social distancing while ordering and wore masks the entire time. The burger itself was in the same level of making your own burger at home, the taste was good. I'm not discrediting the burger by any means, but I just felt like there was more my mouth was wanting after the last bite, as if I wasn't fully satisfied with the taste entirely. I felt for the price of the meal (burger and fries) it wasn't worth it. Overall the location is great, so come out and enjoy the sun and grab yourself a nice meal.

Terrible service and food. Waited over 30 minutes for overcooked, border line burnt burgers, cold and under cooked fries. Overpriced in general and especially for the quality of food we received.

    Order here!

My search for a really good hamburger in South Austin has finally ended! I enjoyed combo sliders, with fries and they were amazing! Star of the show for me were the french fries, - best french fries I've had in the United States! But let's not forget the hamburgers, the beef patties are beautifully cooked sizzling hot and incredibly juicy and flavorful, with a perfect accompaniment of cheese and spices on top. Next time I'm going to wear my big boy pants and order the full size hamburger, and I hear that it's a monster! I really cannot wait to come back here , awesome food, awesome service so glad I found it!

Frozen patties, the 'pickled' peppers were just sliced. Definitely not 'the perfect bite'

New location on Slaughter (next to CVS) so I had to try it. Had the S 1st burger. Brioche bun. Grilled peppers. Patty grilled to perfection. Yum. Generous side of kettle chips. Great place to pick up lunch and a convenient location. Enjoy!

I haven't been able to eat a corndog since becoming pescatarian 10+ years ago, so having a veggie…read morecorndog was a highlight for me! I first tried the Corndog Company at Blues on the Green. I was confused when they asked if I wanted honey drizzled on it, because I have never heard of this combination before? I declined, and also because I knew I wanted to dip in ketchup. The crunchy batter on the corndog is SO good! Thank you for making a veg option. I saw them at the COTA amphitheatre for a concert and had to get one again. Nice people and great corndogs!

If you look up "Cheap Thrills" in the Oxford English Dictionary,…read more The definition is "Fried Oreos at the Corndog Company in Manchaca, Texas." Nothing else describes the concept of Cheap Thrills so well. And let me tell you, I was 100% thrilled. * * * The Corndog Company is a total gas. It is located on the grounds of the Watering Bowl, a state of the art dog park that has everything dogs or their owners could want. The Corndog Company will sell you single hot dogs chopped up into little pieces to give to your dog. I have no doubt this is 100% thrills for the dog. There is a dog grooming truck - which is more for the owners than for Fido. There is a huge yard to run around with other dogs - and there is a tiny side yard for small timid dogs who don't want to rough and tumble with the big dogs. There is a lovely bar with coffee as well, to keep the owners sufficiently lubricated and mellow, or caffeinated and perky. There is a large screen where the guys can watch their football game. The actual dog park has old growth trees and plenty of shade. The Texas landscape is easy on the eyes. * * * But to my mind, the Corndog Company food truck is the star attraction. The corndogs are everything you could possibly want a corndog to be. If there is a Pantheon of Corndogs, these corndogs go in it. The dogs themselves come in five flavors - but I honestly don't think the actual hot dog under that corn bread makes a whole lot of difference. Once it is wrapped in that corn bread, and then drizzled with honey and then covered with mustard or catsup or sweet habanero mustard, the dog itself could be whatever. Actually your corn dog will be more than drizzled with mustard or catsup or sweet habanero mustard. The holes on top of the dispensers are cut large. The dispensers will blast out your mustard or whatever like a fire hydrant. Expect to be wiping off your dog with your French fries. Also expect to be visiting your dry cleaner the next day. The corndogs are good enough however that even with an Atlantic Ocean of mustard on your corndog, that corndog will still taste incredible. The honey they put on the corndog before you start messing with the condiments is a huge component of what makes those dogs good. The cornbread itself is absolutely positively divine. The corndog itself is also absolutely filling. I am used to corndogs being somewhat of a shabby skimpy snack. These will fill you up big time, let there be no doubt on that point. * * * Dessert can be either Fried Milky Way or the Fried Oreos. I haven't tried the Fried Milky Way ... But the Fried Oreos are 1000% Decadence on a stick. The Oreos kind of melt inside turning them into a cookies and cream granular filling. The inside of your fried Oreo sort of looks like caviar Most of what you get is the cornbread coating with hot comforting chocolate and vanilla cream inside. Cornbread with hot comforting chocolate and vanilla cream inside is a good thing. Never mind the Oreo melting. I melted. I didn't want to be anywhere else on the planet. * * * I am just as happy not to own a dog. I don't have to walk it at night. I don't have to come home to feed it. I don't have to play blame games over whether the dog or the humans were responsible for passing gas. But if I am going to go to the Corndog Company, I do NOT want to have to bring my dog along. Who wants to pay attention to a dog when your eyes are closed and you are flying around the universe because you have just had legendary fried Oreos?
