The front desk staff was not very welcoming or accommodating. Arrived for Mother's Day brunch and the receptionists tried to seat us at a table that were up some stairs, and when I shared that my husband was coming with a stroller, the receptionist staff (girl with curly brown hour) looked annoyed and told us to come back to the front and she'd ask her supervisors for another table...instead she just walked away and left me and my son in the front. After 10 minutes, I asked another staff member for assistance and she was more helpful and actually got in contact with the main receptionist staff person and got us a seat. When our food arrived, my husband's dish had bacon in it (we don't eat meat) even though their menu did NOT mention any meat in this particular dish. And for my toddler's meal (pancake w/ fruit), it came with a side of bacon/sausage and when we said we didn't want the meat, they said he could have an extra pancake--to which we responded, yes please. But when his dish came out, no extra pancake. The waitress was nonchalant about it and was like we actually can't give an extra pancake. And I'm thinking, why offer something that you're not sure of (?) Overall, this place caused my Mother's Day to start off on a bad foot, and I have no plans to return here. read more

We all had a great time at Perch yesterday! I made a reservation a week prior and specified that I wanted to sit outside. When the entire party arrived we were seated and our 90 min time limit started. I had the New Your Sour cocktail to start and I really liked it. It was very light and easy to drink, and just sweet enough. My boyfriend tried a few of the Finch brewery beers. It's nice they have taster sizes. He had the Octoberfest and hazy IPA and said they weren't anything to write home about. My boyfriend and I had planned to share most of our meal so we could make room for dessert. We had the shrimp appetizer to start and the ribs. The shrimp were very good - 6 grilled shrimp, nicely marinated. The ribs were great, very tender. The sauce was well-balanced, slightly sweet, a tiny bit of spice, a little tangy. We were able to substitute the slaw and fries with grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes. We were looking forward to the Oreo ice cream sand which for dessert and it did not disappoint! It was so delicious and the portion was quite large and can easily be shared among 4-6 people. Overall, it was a great experience. The service was great! Our server was patient with our questions and all the food came out very quickly. I'm also thankful they were able to sit us outdoors. And I'm excited that the have strong heat lamps because it was very comfortable and it'll make outdoor dining late into autumn possible! I would definitely recommend Perch. read more

I absolutely loved the food, and the manager Sergio was very helpful. I can't wait to go back!

I don't know why I haven't been here sooner! Everything was so delicious. We tried the Chicago restaurant week menu and I loved that we got to try everything. The lobster deviled eggs were life changing, I didn't know deviled eggs could get better. The ribs were fall of the bone, the salad would make you want to eat salads every single day with that delicious dressing. The beer selection was extensive! They have $3 tasters so you can taste it before buying a full glass. The pineapple sauce in the calypso shrimp was so good! We sat outside but the indoor looked very cute. I also had the Benedict with smoked ham and it was bomb! read more

Came in for dinner last night; overall, a good meal. The space is the main highlight at The Perch; I love the layout, the spacing, the elevated bar/restaurant feel, all works for me. March Madness games were on last night but it's definitely not a sports bar, so if you choose to not sit at the bar, it doesn't feel like the visuals or the audio take over the space. For dinner we had the fried cod sandwich, the filet sliders, the cheese curds and the broccolini, along with a couple of the cocktails. The sazerac and the old fashioned were a bit of a miss so we moved to prosecco afterwards...and I always love when prosecco is served basically ice cold, so kudos (you would be amazed how often I order sparkling and it comes out cold-ish). The sliders were incredible, as were the fried cheese curds (which come with a mix of curds and cauliflower, to ensure I stay alive after the meal is over). But the cod was more of a cole slaw sandwich with a little cod; if I was the restaurant, and I was going to serve only a couple ounces of fish, I would either not serve the sandwich open-faced or serve it on a smaller bun. As it is, both my wife and I were like "uh, where's the f***ing cod?" (This is worse when you have comp like that magic piece of fish at Tuman's Tap or other spots nearby that make a boss fried fish sammie during the Lenten season.) Also, the fries on the side of this sandwich were only OK. We ended with a root beer float which was also only OK. To the credit of the restaurant, this was a cheap ending, so at least it wasn't priced at some crazy rate (like $5-$7 dollars or something higher). My sense? Stick to what the restaurant specializes in and you'll be fine...that would be beer, and anything on the rotisserie. I blame myself for straying from that format! read more

The potatoes were so yummy! This salad was so great! It is something you can sit with 2-3 friends and split because it is a large portion! I paired it with an Aperol Spritz read more

This is a really cool spot to come to during the evening... The lobster deviled eggs is delicious... The decor is really nice... The waiters are attentive... I'd love for there to be a few more TVs to watch the game but besides that it's a great place on division, I'll be back read more

Finally was able to check out the Perch for dinner last night with some friends! It's a beautiful restaurant with really cool design, lofted ceilings and modern decor. Was excited to try some of the beer from the brewer they partner with. Overall, it was a solid experience. Bridget took care of us, and despite being brand new did a great job, making good recs and checking in often to refill waters etc. The beers weren't too impressive, but for a small operation it gets the job done. The kettle sour was a favorite and the Pilsner was decent, the 606 is skippable. We started with the cheese curds and then shared the half chicken and the carrots, and our friends tried the chicken sandwich and the veggie platter. The cheese curds come in a massive portion, probably more than necessary, and unfortunately most of them weren't warm - they were still fairly crispy but was kind of weird to have room temp cheese curds. We definitely agreed we would've liked more of the friend veggies that come with them too! The half chicken was solid, well seasoned and big portion. The side of mashed potatoes was just ok. The carrots were extremely smoky / charred, so be ready for a lot of that flavor! Still tasty! The veggie platter looked great and the chicken sandwich as well so no complaints there! Next time I'm back, I'll stick to sandwiches and cocktails and then maybe try some alternatives on the apps - we were limited to one or two options there with a vegetarian at our table! Finally they brought out a fun birthday dessert for our friend, which was an Oreo ice cream cake of some kind, and it was super tasty!! Still felt like 4 stars was the right rating overall for our experience, and excited to have a such a great walkable spot in our new neighborhood! read more

Great food, great drinks, beautiful atmosphere, literally can't go wrong with the place. We came on a sleepy Sunday evening, and the mahi mahi sandwich was delicious. We sat at the bar, and received great service. Definitely recommend! read more

I've been here a few times now- maybe 5 times. Every single time, the service is friendly, informative, and quick. I love the free kids meals from 4-6 (very helpful when you have 3 kids lol). Just to note you do pay tax/tip for the kids meals on the receipt. You also are charged a 3% service charge. The place is always clean, and have great music. The atmosphere is so lively, fun, and inviting. The food is always fresh, and yummy! Some of my favs are the carrots, cauliflower steaks, Wright wood salad, and mahi mahi. You can substitute your fries for any sides, and they have yummy broccolini that I switch out! We love coming here and will continue to do so! read more

The food wasn't bad but nothing really inspired joy. The drinks were lackluster (again not bad but not good) and I eventually settled on a glass of wine to forego any other cocktail disappointments. Maybe their brunch is better? The server and ambience were nice. Cool interior. Order for the table: prime rib sandwich, rotisserie sandwich, cornbread, calypso shrimp (best item we had). Cocktails: The Atticus, The Cherry Thyme Sidecar read more

Loved this place. Highly recommend sitting outside. There is a pretty hectic front patio, but I would ask to go around the side, quieter shaded and better. A win for sure. The staff here are pretty amazing. Each of the people we interacted with were great. The host wasn't jaded (a huge win). The waiter was great. Engaging and very into being helpful...you would be surprised, how much of a big deal this is. The food was really good. Get the deviled eggs and the filet sliders. Each were fantastic. Do it. Pretty much everything on the menu was considered. The beers were good. It was about 1000 degrees outside so, beers were needed. Great new find! read more

3.5 We came here for brunch on Mother's Day. My husband and I both found our entrees a bit disappointing (I had the prime rib hash and the eggs and potatoes were good, but the meat was very tough), but we loved the appetizers and desserts we ordered. We shared the skillet blueberry cornbread and the lobster deviled eggs to start, and they were both great, especially the cornbread. I am a sucker for the blueberry and corn pairing, but this was a perfect version of it. For dessert, we had the oreo cookie ice cream sandwich which was SO good (especially the hot fudge) and very big (my daughter and I couldn't finish it together). It was also my birthday on Sunday and they put a candle on the cookie for me at my family's request. They gave every mom a pink tulip bud to take home, which was nice, and it bloomed beautifully in a vase at home. read more

We came here for my boyfriends birthday dinner while visiting Chicago. I admittedly had high hopes for this place as I had heard a lot of good things about it through social media and thought the reviews looked decent on yelp as well, but I was a little disappointed after our visit. The restaurant has a very beautifully lit and decorated dining space along with friendly staff. The menu had several options as well which is nice for larger groups or picky eaters! As an appetizer we had the calypso shrimp, I really liked the seasoning on the shrimp but it definitely was not jerk flavored as described on the menu. The sauce under the shrimp was an excellent touch and took the dish up a notch. For the main course, I had the wood grilled pork chop and my boyfriend had the prime rib. Unfortunately, both looked a lot better than they actually tasted and were really lacking in flavor. My pork chop had a nice char on it but was almost dry in texture throughout most of the meat and slightly raw in the middle. The potatoes were also lack luster and tasted like instant potatoes instead of hand mashed. I may be open to trying this restaurant again, but based on our first experience I would not recommend it to anyone else. read more

I love nearby The Perch and have been wanting to check it out for a while now. I took my husband here for Father's Day dinner. He ordered the prime rib. I was surprised to see him reach for the table salt (a move he rarely does). I ordered a salad and we shared the croquettes. I'm giving The Perch a 3 based on our food experience alone. Everything was just okay. I did appreciate that kids eat free before 6pm! (For that I would give an extra star. My picky eater was very happy with her meal). Staff were very friendly and the inside of the restaurant is beautiful. read more

I describe The Perch as the ideal yuppie neighborhood restaurant - which is not an insult! The decor is chic, trendy, and the food is elevated Americana (prime rib hash, lobster deviled eggs, grilled cauliflower steak.) One might think it's all for show, but everything I've had from The Perch has been really tasty. It's one of our go-to brunch spots when we want to treat ourselves. I'm not a big beer drinker, but I've tried their beer flight and enjoyed it. It is, however, quite a pricey experience. For such a price I would rather it not be so loud inside, but I keep coming back for more so I must not care that much. read more

The new brewery on division was a great place to drop in. They have a large outdoor patio and a nice large open indoor set up. The beer from Finch brewing was really good. They have a diverse lineup that rotates. The food was a little over priced but it was quality. The corn bread was massive and well seasoned and crisp crust. The curds were crispy and gooey with a nice aioli. And the lobster deviled eggs were flavorful and you easily could taste the lobster. We will be back read more

The perch was a pretty good brunch vibe! We sat outside with some friends, the music was pretty great, and the waiter came to check on us often. The menu was pretty extensive, with some unique dishes! We tried the croquettes, which were not amazing in my opinion, but worth a try. I loved the drink I got, the matcha matcha man, which had tequila and matcha syrup wit some other fun additions also. I also really loved the blueberry skilled cornbread! Apparently that's the bench flavor but they have a jalapeño cornbread on the dinner menu the tostadas were new on the menu, and were pretty good also. The place is also dog-friendly, and they have a cute dog menu for pups also. I'd go back and check out some more food and drinks forsure. Give it a try! read more

Perch is a great neighborhood spot for a consistent quality meal. They have a variety of items on the menu and a solid draft beer list. The chicken dip sandwich uses their rotisserie chicken and it's delicious. Additionally, the Wrightwood salad is a generous portion with many toppings. It was one of the best salads I've ever had. The cornbread croutons were amazing. If you love spinach dip, then you have to get theirs as an appetizer. It never disappoints. read more

I realize this is going to come across as gushing but... What an amazing place with amazing people! I can't remember the last time I felt so welcome at a restaurant. The drinks were great and the food was even better. Our service was a bit lack but they seemed really busy. The filet sliders were to die for I could have eaten them as my meal. We also had the lobster deviled eggs and prime rib. The prime rib was cooked to perfection and not too done and the lobster deviled eggs may have been as good as my grandmas . The only complaint I have as a southerner is plz stop putting jalapeños in our cornbread! read more

We had the croquettes, wood grilled artichokes, brussel sprouts, short ribs and turkey burger. Everything was good - the short rib was the star! It came with goat cheese mashed potatoes which were amazing! Service was attentive but not overly so. One star removed because we were seated in sort of a side area that felt far removed from the rest of the restaurant and was rather chilly. Suggestion - light that fire and make this a drinks and desserts only section. All in all - definitely worth a visit! read more

My wife and I went there last week for date night. I'm vegetarian so had the roasted vegetable platter, which was delicious - and I don't even like vegetables that much. No upsell pressure, just knowledgeable, straightforward, attentive and courteous. I look forward to returning. read more

STOP SCROLLING: your future date night, brunch AND happy hour will thank you! YES, you read that right - the trifecta. That's how much I love this spot. A lot of restaurants struggled to survive the pandemic, but it's no surprise Perch has T H R I V E D since opening in 2020. I originally came for the vibes...beer garden meets art gallery on the outside, elegant brewery on the inside, need I say more? However I keep coming back for the food and lovey service. Here's my guide to ordering no matter the occasion: 1. HAPPY HOUR - it's a brewery so you can't go wrong with any of the beers but if beers not your style don't worry there's a full service bar & assortment of unique cocktails (purple rain is my personal instagrammable fave; can you say Prosecco AND Vodka?!) 2. BRUNCH - share small plates so you can sample a variety of bites! Wash down your Sunday scaries with the lobster deviled eggs (ask for a fourth. trust me.), croquettas and skillet cornbread! 3. DATE NIGHT - go for halfsies on the entrees. Not to save money, but because of sheer portion size. Each entree is a plenty of food for two people. Order the chicken dip, half chicken or NY steak strip salad to score a second (and third) date! read more

Came here for lunch on my birthday, and I couldn't have been happier! Chose to eat indoors, and the place is gorgeous. We started with the lobster deviled eggs and buffalo shrimp. Both were really tasty and a great portion. I had the wedge salad, 10/10. Loved the chunks of bacon! My husband had the rotisserie chicken, chefs kiss! Both my boys had the cheeseburger, and there were no leftovers. Rounded things out with the Oreo Cookie dessert, again 10/10. The chicken dip sandwich was absolutely the BEST sandwich I've ever had in my entire life!! Good staff, decent food, fun environment. We took our little kids - 2 years old and 1 year old. The restaurant is kid-friendly, bringing a kids menu and cups with lids on for the children. We had the pork chop, half chicken, tavern steak salad, and lobster deviled eggs. The deviled eggs were very good. The rest of the food was good, but nothing spectacular. We enjoyed our dinner and it's on a great street with tons of restaurants that you can walk along after. read more

When I first walk in, I notice the type of aesthetic is to a T California. As I walk in, I awe at the amazingly large tanks full of alcohol. We were seated fairly quickly, which is effectively efficient, and we were handed the menus. The waiters personality was able to stay professional but loose at the same time. After that, I looked at the various options of food, including soup of the day. The waiter kept checking in often which was very helpful. As soon as we ordered, I notice how the waiter immediately tries there best to fit our needs. The food got here surprisingly fast. First I took a bite of the mashed potatoes. At first, it tasted delicious, but then the aftertaste was... I personally think it was a bit yeasty. The grilled cheese was very delicious, I have no criticism for that one. The soup of the day was red bean and rice with sausage. That was so delicious, I loved it. The dessert was next. I ordered the root beer float. It was so spectacular, best RBF I ever had. My mom ordered the carrot cake. Magnificent. Overall, this was an amazing restaurant, with impressive food. My only criticism is the mashed potatoes. I would definitely recommend The Perch. read more
