Patronized this establishment yesterday during westown restaurant week. Sat at the bar, it was busy. Wicker Park, Friday, nice weather equates busy. So... at the bar got the menu, first time there. The bartender, a woman short w/ nice tattoos, have me a quick run down of the beers. I told her, i was wanting a cocktail but needed food first. She understood, came back in a beat, and took my order. She never checked on me in terms of the cocktail. Fast forward... I'm eating, the food is good. I got the salmon w/broccoli rabe. As I'm eating midday through my meal. There's a hair as I'm cutting into my salmon, i see it. It was disheartening cause this food was good, and cooked perfectly! I don't feel it was a cleanliness issue overall, now like a hustle & bustle cause it could have been on the plate prior to plating and went unnoticed. So, i let the aforementioned bartender know what's up. She came back and said, "They're making you a new one," I replied. "I don't need another one." She now asked, " You don't want another one?" I stated I was full... so then she says, " Well, what do you want?!" Her energy changed to irritation (rudeness), and it was due to the business, but that's not my problem, and it isn't helpful. My intention wasn't to escalate the issue, I'd assumed from my years of experience (Hospitality & Spa Wellness industry) that some things don't have to escalate and of they do, not in a derogatory space; but here we are. Manager Sergio comes over and apologizes and explains that he don't know how to prorate the pre-fixe menu cause it's pre-fixed which I get. I told him about the exc with the bartender and he made excuses that it was busy, which I'd already given that grace. I had the small app course, and my meal had the hair, and 3rd course, dessert was included. So, I'm talking to him and letting him know, I didn't want another meal, I'm full but, i also wanted to work with them and didn't want to cause any inconvenience (it was busy as hell, in there and again in in service so i get it) i offered to pay for my 2 shrimp....i didn't get the cocktail cause the bartender never came back until i asked for assistance with the hair in my food. In talking to the manager we agreed that I'd take a new main course home (cause that was easier for them cause of the pre-fixe) as well as the dessert and he offered me the(complimentary) cocktail i wanted to try, i was torn between 2 and told him whomever made it can surprise me with either. The original bartender made it, dropped it off, didn't look at me etc... childish. I paid, tipped & left. I won't be back because I don't feel comfortable referring clients to this establishment after my experience. It's a busy area, if you can't handle it.... read more

Vibes are immaculate! Located in a really cool part of Division, my friends and I stopped here for dinner and drinks during a Friday night out and were seated in the relatively new outdoor dining area. We ended up ordering a bottle of red for the table as well as cocktails, all of which were great! We ended up chatting with the server who was such a gem and told us about how the outdoor area has all sorts of locally sourced art strewn throughout including a giant bust of a woman's head which is super gorgeous and actually ended up on my Instagram. It honestly felt like having dinner in an art gallery. I ordered the turkey burger with mashed potatoes and both were seasoned to perfection, the potatoes a little peppery, which I loved, and the burger was cooked well. Turkey burgers are tricky to do right, but The Perch does. Pricing is super fair, and I'm keen to return for lunch/brunch situation. read more

Are you ready for a review dedicated to carrots? Just kidding, kind of. I took my family to The Perch and a few things blew us away: the beer, the cheese curds, the cornbread, and the carrots. The Perch shines with its grilled food. I'd suggest being adventurous, as we found their burger/sandwiches less exciting than their vegetables and appetizers. I LOVE when restaurants make veggies exciting. Their carrots are grilled until tender and crispy, then paired with a smoky yogurt sauce. Our table fought over these carrots. I'll be back just for the carrots. Eat your vegetables, and eat them at The Perch! read more

Accidentally found The Perch as a friend and I were walking around waiting on our lunch reservations at a restaurant down the street. We saw the garden seating area and had to see what was going on inside. Right when we opened the door we were greeted with the beautiful yeasty aroma of beer brewing and decided we had to stay and try some beer. I tried their Raku IPA and my friend tried the Benliner (to which they can add raspberry syrup to and it is DELICIOUS). TBH both beers were very good. I love. A good IPA, but I could drink the raspberry Benliner alllll day. The raspberry really makes it springy and refreshing - I can't wait to come back and try the delicious looking food since I already know the drink situation is on point. See you again, soon read more

This a great casual spot to check out for delicious food and drinks. You can make reservations ahead of time, but my husband and I have done walk in's with no problem. I love their appetizers. The skillet cornbread is really addictive. The lobster deviled eggs are really good as well. I also have liked their ahi tuna salad, salmon, and sausage plate. They brew their own beer, so you definitely want to check those out. If you aren't into beers, they also have a selection of other beverages that you can try. I haven't come for brunch yet, but that menu looks appealing. read more

Love this place - the food is delicious and they have some unique beers on tap! The most popular item is the lobster deviled eggs so highly recommend. The calypso shrimp and their chicken are tasty as well. The indoor seating is nice and open with lots of light, and they also have patio seating and a beer garden in the back! read more

A few of my girlfriends and I went to the Perch for breakfast and we love love loved it! We placed an online reservation for a 1pm Saturday table. It was starting to get crowded from the brunch rush once we arrived. To be secluded area, we requested the heated outdoor option. It was a rainy 45-50 degree day, but that patio was TOASTY! At one point we had to request for them to turn the heaters down. So if you are seated out there don't fret it is more than warm enough. They have a pretty diverse brunch menu which was appreciated. One of my friends is vegan and they were able to mix a bit of the brunch and dinner menu to ensure she had a nice vegan meal which was so so extremely appreciated, and nice of the staff at The Perch to accommodate for us. For starters we ordered the croquettes (aside from our vegan friend, these unfortunately are not vegan). Omg I can see why these are a menu highlight. With a nice fried crisp, after you bite in the potatoes nearly melt in your mouth leaving you with flavors of bacon, chives, and the spiced topping. If you get anything, get these you won't regret. For my entree, I kept it simple and ordered the '2 Eggs Your Way' basic but worthhh it! Who knew eggs, toast, and bacon and potatoes could be so yummy. The highlight were the potatoes, their hash browns have great flavor, a nice crisp and have a cream cheese type of mix in it??? I don't know how to describe it which means go ahead and try it for yourself. Recommend. Of course we had mimosas the entire brunch for a good time. They do no have a bottomless option, but they have a bottle for $40 with juice options which did great for us. Our server was absolutely the sweetest, I wish I remembered her name. She was extremely patient and friendly and provided support and accommodations with smiles. Thank you The Perch. Go try it folks! read more

We have eaten here multiple tiles and I haven't left a review. The Perch is always good. The wide variety of the menu is great. The salads are are great. I had the Blacken Mahi Mahi sandwich. The fish was large and cooked to perfection. When the weather is nice the outside space is very nice. Large bar with excellent cocktails. The service is very attentive to customers. Bottom line The Perch is consistently great! read more

Food is great, interesting selection of beers, nice ambience both inside and outside. We loved our waitress, Bridget

I had a really great meal at the perch, I was hesitant at first since the last time I was in the same place it was the boundary and the food was.... not good. That being said the new space and food are amazing. The esthetic of the space seems brighter, light and airy and more comfortable at the same time. Service was great, and for our meal we shared the steak salad, yum, a full cut of steak. The spinach dip was tasty but next time will definitely be trying the croquettes. The chicken dip was huge and juicy but the true stars of the show were the sweets, the Nutella brownie... GET.IN.MY.BELLY and the ice cream cookie sandwich. So good! Will be back here for sure and soon! read more

The Perch turns one!!!! Happy birthday to everyone and the owners! First time here and the service and food was amazing! While it was a private event with a "pre-fixe menu" (pig roast) the food served was delicious and I'd definitely come back to experience the full menu. Atmosphere inside is open, fun and personable. They have a large outdoor covered patio and street side patio. Come here for a date, event or just because. It's fun! read more

What a lovely evening we had. Sat outside on the perfect night. The cornbread was sensational. Chili appetizer was spicy and good. Salmon with Brussels sprout was amazing. The fish was cooked to perfection and was just right. Sprouts had Parmesan cheese and bacon. Mmmm. Chicken Pot Pie was a winner and carrot cake was maxing. Huge piece. Had to take home half. Big bonus a different Mocktail every time! read more

Stopped by the Perch for lunch during Restaurant Week and was pleasantly surprised. I hadn't been to this building since it was the Boundary long ago and The Perch is a bit of an upgrade when it comes to food and beverage and less of a "shoot some shuffleboard and watch the game" kind of place. They have some great beer options on tap and we were intrigued by their RW menu including beer instead of a dessert. When given the choice of a beer or dessert, I'll always pick beer. The rotating beer of that day was a sour and it was light and delicious. I started with the calypso shrimp while my friend got the lobster deviled eggs. Both were excellent. The shrimp was grilled and charred to perfection with a great light flavor. The deviled eggs were tasty and fresh. For the main course, I opted for the mahi mahi sandwich and my friend got the Wrightwood salad (apparently this salad is a staple at all restaurants owned by this restaurant group, including Smoke Daddy and Tuco & Blondie, and is the most amazing salad ever). Both were great. The mahi mahi came as a full filet of fish, which only half of the fish fit on the actual bread. It was a thinner piece of fish and looked and tasted more like tilapia but I'm not fish expert so I'll assume it was actually mahi mahi. Either way, it was blackened to perfection and full of flavor. The thin shoestring fries are my favorite type of fries. A great Wicker Park stop for a good lunch, brunch, or just grabbing a drink while in the area. The ambiance is relaxed and chill, service was friendly, and the food was good. Can't ask for much more than that. read more

Came here to try their brunch menu for restaurant week , we were curious about the beermosas (by the way did not disappoint) . I got the blueberry cornbread which was fantastic , and the Benedict eggs which were OK , I think they will be much better with regular bacon instead of Canadian bacon . The husband got the cinnamon roll , he said he didn't like it as much , but he loved his breakfast sandwich . We also got a Moscow mule each (very tasty , got us tipsy ) and an the croquettes that by the way are really good . Overall I think this is a good place , I wasn't a huge fan of the food, it's just to it traditional American brunch food that you can get anywhere but the service is GREAT, from the person who greets you at the door to the guys that are cleaning up tables , everyone is really nice and attentive , always happy to help you . That's what definitely makes me want to go back I also loved the space, it feels bright and airy, the decor is really pretty as well read more

Lovely street side patio, lots of folks on a Friday afternoon. Had some delicious Brussels Sprouts and guacamole The sprouts order was smallish, sweet and served piping hot in cast iron (?) pan. Came with candied jalapeños that I requested be left off. They weren't but I managed to extract them. The chips that accompanied the tasty guacamole were not worthy of the dip. Service was stellar. read more

What a gem! I saw this restaurant when I was an art fair and added it to my list. And made my way there for dinner this past week. The space itself is big with a big outside patio. They seemed a bit understaff but our waitress was a power server. She apologized a handful of times But she was great. Plenty of staff shortages everywhere so it's important to remember to be kind and patient! My friend ordered a gin drink and I got the season pumpkin rum drink- yum! Food- Lobster deviled eggs- it's a must! PLEASE bring back the Oreo ice cream sandwich. PLEASE. I love the perch. Filet sliders are a mush though

I love this place. I absolutely love love love this place. Just discovered it about two months ago and have already been three times! Every server I've had has been wonderful and the food comes out quickly and is delicious! On one of the occasions I asked for dressing on the side of my salad and it ended up coming mixed in with the salad, which wasn't a big deal to me/I didn't mention it. But the server noticed right away and made a point to correct it. I told her it was no big deal and she said they'd switch it out quickly. I literally had a new salad in front of me in three minutes. Every time I've been there the food has been SO good!!! I haven't tried it for brunch yet but the menu looks divine! What they've done with the inside is really beautiful, and it's a great place for a date night or a dinner with friends. I've only sat in the garden once but it was great on a summer afternoon. I will definitely be going back! read more

Loved this lunch stop. Came on a Saturday morning so it was brunch. We loved our food and drinks! Had a couple of the tacocat sour ales. Really great if you like your sours a little less sour and a little more like beer. It was perfect for morning drinking. For food we tried the lobster deviled eggs, wrightwood salad and prime rib hash. Lobster deviled eggs are $10 for 3 halves, but you can add a 4th for $3 more. Our bartender suggested this and did not steer us wrong. Good amount of lobster on top. The wrightwood salad was one of my favorite salads I've had - if not favorite. Just so many great flavors tied together with a nice citrus vinaigrette. The chicken is rotisserie and we saw them roasting right in front of us. Super fresh, flavorful and juicy. The cornbread croutons were also a great addition. Husband ordered the prime rib hash. This was so good! The prime rib was cooked really nicely and all of the peppers/onions/beans/potato's were a great complement. Very flavorful. There is a ton of seating inside and out. The service is awesome... very friendly bartenders and servers and they seemed to really care to deliver a great service experience. read more

This place is "a treat yourself" location. Starts off my dinner with a great flight of beers. Not a single bad choice for a drink in my opinion. Lobster devil egg: Good but quite a lavish spending. Only three small devil eggs. Doesn't it take two to make four halves. Croquette: Fried mash potatoes. Nice but again small. Sauce lacking in flavor but goes great with your drink. Fried Cheese curd: large and sharable, perfect to pair with your drink. Prime rib: good horse radish sauce, au jus is alright. Not something I desire again. Rib Eye: one of the best rib eye I had in a long time. Chimichurri sauce is the perfect steak sauce and they know it. read more

This place exceeded our expectations! Service was so fast and attentive. It probably only took less than 10 minutes for our food to come out after we ordered. Maybe around five minutes for the apps? Space was really large and open. Had a a tropical vibe. They were playing a lot of upbeat fun music which added to the overall fun atmosphere. All of the dishes we got were delicious. I would definitely recommend the prime rib, croquettes, and artichoke. I think those were my favorite dishes! Also I was pleasantly surprised by the dessert. It was just the perfect level of sweetness. All the beers were good as well. We tried a couple sours and they did not disappoint. I'd love to go back and take some out of town friends here. I think it has the perfect blend of good food, drinks, and atmosphere! read more

I went to The Perch with my husband during Chicago Restaurant Week 2023. We were super excited for their lunch menu - it sounded fantastic - but when we arrived for our reservation on a Saturday at 2pm, we were told that they were only serving brunch and nothing from the lunch menu had been prepped. We were quite disappointed, but began looking at their brunch menu to find a new dish to try. We each started out with a beer to drink - it was included with the pre fix menu which was really nice - and honestly, I think we both agreed that the beer was the best thing we had there. Our food tasted fine, but was nothing to phone home about AND came out cold. I had their version of an eggs Benedict but it came on cornbread with like a black bean sauce situation on top of the eggs + rotisserie chicken as the meat. It was good, but would have been ten times better if it was hot. Also, both of our dishes came with a stupidly fat chunk of potatoes. We definitely wound up taking that to go and was pretty good warmed up at home. All in all, we probably won't be back to The Perch for food, and definitely not brunch. We had high hopes, but at least the beer was good. read more

I went to The Perch for a girls night out and was not disappointed! It just so happened to be a Saturday night when an art festival was going on outside, so it was very busy. Luckily we had put in a reservation and were seated right away. We sat in the outside covered garden, which was beautiful. There was ivy on the walls, and twinkly lights overhead. There were even some fans out to keep the temperature comfortable for guests. The inside was also very unique with an industrial and sleek vibe. The service was nice, friendly, and attentive. We got our food delivered to us in maybe under 3-4 minutes from when we ordered? I got the Wrightwood Salad and the Rose Sangria. The salad was delicious and was a unique combination of ingredients that blended together perfectly --- l loved the goat cheese and the cornbread croutons! The sangria was --- okay. Not very flavorful and on the small side for $13. Overall, this is a cute place to check out if you find yourself on division. It has a limited menu, but food is good and appears to be made with very fresh ingredients. It is on the pricey side, which seems to be the norm in that part of town. Ambiance and environment is unique and spacious. Good find. read more

The Perch had absolutely delicious food! Ambiance- 5 There is plenty of outdoor seating! We were able to enjoy the last days of pleasant weather here in Chicago before the harsh winter comes. It seems that there are some little intimate well vented "greenhouses" as well for small parties of 2. Food- 5 For the appetizers, we ordered the spinach dip and these little fried mashed potato balls (I forgot what they were called, but so worth the $5!!) I ordered the half rotisserie chicken (came with a side of mashed potatoes). The chicken was very tender, juicy, and flavorful! Definitely one of the better rotisserie chickens that I have had at restaurants. The mashed potatoes were creamy and very delicious! Parking is a little challenging in the area. My husband ordered the Prime Rib Hash while I got the Wrightwood Salad with Strip Steak instead of chicken. OMG, it was a 10/10. Absolutely the perfect brunch meal. Just went yo the Fat Tuesday Murder Mystery dinner at the Perch. I haven't been there before. Easy to get to via Uber, I'm thinking not great for parking. Ambiance for the place was nice, and the dividers between booths was very nice. The host of the murder mystery greeted us at the door, and wove us into the story from our arrival. He did a great job getting around to all the tables. We learned later that he was sussing out patrons to be actors in the mystery. One of the folks at our table was chosen, and this made it even more fun. We met the table next to us as we were all on one team. The service was great (thank you Jim), and drinks were drunk. Actually we were down a bottle of wine before any food came (would have been nice to have bread on the table). Jambalaya, dirty rice, collard greens with salmon & short ribs were served family style. Great food for such a large crowd. The professionals did a great job of moving the game along and coaxing the guest actors in their parts.
