Came here with my family for brunch on Sunday after another restaurant in the area we originally were going to had a long wait and was very impressed! The outdoor seating area is an awesome environment and the service was great. The bloody Mary's were good and came with a beer back. I got the Blackbird Benny which was my favorite meal out of our family of 6 - the cornbread was the best part and goes so well with the chili. I also really enjoyed the chicken dip which was really tender and unique with the chicken jus. I was not expecting much as sometimes brunch menus can be a little more bland but Perch really impressed all of us! @main_guy_eats read more

Meh, it was ok. Sometimes social media can really hype up a place. My friend and I just couldn't decide on a restaurant. Wicker Park. There are so many restaurants and bars, specialty places and make the choice very hard. But this was our choice. I had one two actually try it last year. Looks like the prices have increased. I was interested in corn bread until I seen that it was 12 or $14 with a little astronomical for some cornbread. So we went with the rotisserie chicken sandwich which was pretty juicy. Wasn't dry. Wasn't undercooked like I thought, but I did not like the french fries that came with it. They were more like chips, not hardy fries. May almost a shoe string fry. They were not good. My friend got the croquettes and she confused them with the croquettes that we make and is more of a potato consistency. Nothing how she thought they would be. And we also shared an order of cheese curds which was pretty good. I'm used to them being prepared a little different but they were. They were okay. We were going to happy hour so we did not get anything from the bar but it's a huge bar. Lots of bourbons. Very spacious place, even a patio that is dog friendly. read more

My favorite part of this neighborhood restaurant for me is the beer garden! Love the atmosphere and always heated well that you can have outdoor experience while warm year round! Great food! Great beer selection! Both brunch and dinner are excellent but do tend to prefer it just a bit for brunch more! Menu slightly smaller then other restaurants but everything is good so long enjoy not having to many options since all so good! CHORIZO TOSTADAS the best though! read more

Came here for a late breakfast with beer. The dunkel pour had an amazing head on it and was delicious (see my pic). The breakfast was pretty much your standard 2x2x2 but I will say this, both my order and my wife's came out, snap your fingers, like that, FAST! Not sure how they did it, she got an omelette and I got poached eggs. Go figure. Did we pay WAY too much for breakfast? Absolutely. LOL. read more

Super cute and local brewery in wicker park!!! Well worth trying if you are in the area. The food was on point and I will definitely be back for the sliders because they were my favorite. The staff were all on point and very professional especially Tailor who was very attentive to my large party seated at the bar. read more

This was an excellent place to visit. The aesthetic in the main bar/dining area is captivating. Beautiful, rough, and industrial. The cocktails were delicious, and I appreciated the tasting sizes on the beer menu to be able to sample. I had the Atticus cocktail and really enjoyed it. We ate the cheese curds which were so lightly battered yet crispy, they also included a battered and fried vegetables that tasted like a giardiniera and were an excellent balance to the fried cheese. We also ate the crispy Brussel sprouts and the combination of the Brussel sprouts, red onion, bacon, jalapeños, parmesan, and sherry vinegar was drool worthy. I couldn't stop eating them. Finally, we had the filet sliders, which I found to be dry for my liking. Our server was excellent and attentive. All in all, I would more than gladly visit again. read more

Sadly, just 2 stars. Staff was great! Friendly and attentive! The food on the other hand, was a huge disappointment. My wife and I stopped here after going to the festival on Division. The place seemed slightly fancy and was crowded. We thought it must be good. My wife tried a few appetizers. Their deviled eggs, cornbread, & Jerk shrimp. I had their ribs. So my wife's food. The cornbread was good. She said the eggs were alright. The shrimp was not good. Tasted nothing like a Jerk seasoning. It had more of an Indian spice to it. My food was just bad. The ribs may separate pretty easy from the bone; but they had a bit too much of a char / burnt taste. Chewy in some parts as well. Overall, if the ribs aren't better than Portillos ribs I am not satisfied paying that much. But, it gets worse. The fries were undercooked and were just bad. A frozen store brand made at home would be better. And yes, it gets worse. The coleslaw... oh the coleslaw... How on earth did this get approved and put on the menu? It is so bad. There is zero flavor, zero seasoning. Well no, it does have flavor; it tastes like you are licking a burnt grill. I really don't understand how these made it into their final meals. I saw a lot of other tables with salads. Maybe they are locals and know what to order. I'd say pass on this place, try somewhere else. read more

Loved. The vibes were great. The food was amazing. I went for brunch. We didn't have a reservation so we had to wait, but for how busy it was I was surprised how long we had to wait. I had the tostada, lobster deviled eggs, and matcha breakfast cocktail and they were all great.. but next time I'll probably skip the matcha cocktail as I prefer a more traditional matcha. read more

For the service and price of the food it was outstanding. It was on the more classier side for a brewery. Well thought out for the layout on the inside & outside (for summer). I had the Baby back ribs with fries & mashed potatoes. It was smoked & or cooked (can't remember if both or one) over 2 or 3 types of wood. Had that hint of cherry flavor. Would definitely comeback. read more

Love the environment there! They have an indoor, semi-outdoor, and outdoor space. Dog-friendly and they even have special popsicles for pups! I highly recommend trying their croquettes- omg I cannot even express how good they are. I got the cauliflower steak on our most recent visit and it was very good - it's a large portion so I had to take some home. Their cocktails are great and they have a bunch of tasty menu options. Be warned they are super busy on the weekends so be prepared for a wait, especially if it's nice outside. We'll certainly be back! read more

Checked out the Perch during restaurant week. The ambiance at the restaurant is nice. It is very dimly lit for dinner. Started with the "MAYTAG" BLUE CHEESE & CHIPS. They were alright. The chips are homemade and those were good. Could've used more blue cheese bechamel. Not worth the try from the apps, would recommend trying the croquettes or lobster devil eggs instead. Had the prime ribs with mashed potatoes as an entree. The prime rib was delish! It was tender and juicy, but the mashed potatoes weren't seasoned that well. Got the OREO ICE CREAM SANDWICH for dessert. That was a hit! Everything about that dessert was delicious. The Oreos and the ice cream went perfectly together. It was the right balance of vanilla and chocolate 11/10 recommend. Service could've been better but overall decent trip. read more

I've always walked past the perch and admired their aesthetics but was super excited to try them out recently. I started off with a beer that tasted like s'mores, followed by lobster deviled eggs, short ribs and then a cobbler for dessert. My favorite bite of the night was definitely the steak- the combination with the salad was amazing. The deviled eggs were ok, guess I was expecting more of a punch with lobster. Short ribs were super tender. Think they used frozen peaches for the cobbler because they were still pretty firm but still a great sweet treat. read more

Excellent food. Been there twice for brunch with family and friends. Well made food. Great tasting great quick service. Pretty. Clean. Well decorated. Clean restrooms. Is not an uppity "gourmet" restaurant but all is nicely presented. We tried the cornbread - to die for. The cinnamon rolls. Prime rib hash, chorizo tostadas, filet sliders, omelets. And the hash browns are delicious- they have cream cheese in them! All is great. Drinks are also great. You should try them. read more

I visited Chicago and went for a late dinner after an event at 10 PM. The restaurant closes at 11 PM, and I was with a group of eight. I have to say, we had the best experience! Went on a Sunday, a little busy but we had a reservation. Severs and staff were very nice. Allowed us to move tables without question. I got the shrimp and spinach dip. Both very good. Shrimp was a bit spicy and totally had the Caribbean twist to it. Also got the burger and cheese curds. Burger was just okay, had better burgers. Cheese curds were good but cold, and the sauce that comes with it isn't that good. Would be better with a ranch or just a marinara. Had several cocktails, all good and strong! Would come back! read more

A cool spot for brunch or dinner with almost too many good options to choose from (especially the Wrightwood Salad). I came here for dinner the first time on a weeknight, and it was pretty empty--we got seated in a booth basically right away. We considered pretty much every single side / appetizer on the menu, and ended up ordering Croquettes, Spinach Dip, Skillet Cornbread, and the Wrightwood Salad. The Croquettes are a delicious fried potato ball--warm, flavorful, and only $6. Highly recommend. The Cornbread was solid, though maybe not spectacular. It was cornbread. Warm, good, but not remarkable. The Spinach Dip was dense and flavorful, maybe not elite, but if you like a spinach dip, you'll like this one. I'm not a big salad guy generally, but the Wrightwood Salad was shockingly good. It uses a rotisserie chicken (you can see them roasting a bunch near the kitchen), but it was just extremely refreshing and delicious, to the point that we declared we had to go back to have it again. So a week later, we did, this time for brunch. It was much more crowded--we made a reservation, and both the inside and outside were basically full. In addition to the Wrightwood Salad, we got the Cinnamon Roll skillet and the Eggs Benedict. The Cinnamon Roll skillet, much like the cornbread, was good but not great. It kind of just tasted like a big thing of bread. In a skillet. With some cream cheese on the top. It certainly wasn't bad, but it was not a Cinnamon Roll I'll be writing home about. Just writing on Yelp about it. The Eggs Benedict were solid--the bacon on them was thick and flavorful. Would recommend. Overall, a great spot. A nice, warm atmosphere with a ton of good options. read more

I tried this place with my brother last weekend and it blew me away ‍ @theperchchicago in Wicker Park, Chicago is the perfect place for a summer brunch or dinner. They have two patio options (one in the back with beautiful ivy walls and more secluded and one in the sidewalk for great people watching)! I cannot recommend this place enough for the service, the cocktails (they also have an on-site brewery and the fooood! ' To start I got the "Random Acts of Flyness" and someone on Yelp called this Chicagos best summer cocktail and I kind of have to agree? Tequila based with aeporal, ginger beer and lime it's like a Moscow mules better cousin. Then for apps we split the skillet cornbread and the croquettes. This cornbread was melt in your mouth with honey butter and actual corn kernels I was in love. I am not usually a croquettes person, but the paprika aioli sold me!! For mains, I got the wrightwood salad without nuts and it was SO GOOD! House roasted rotisserie chicken, goat cheese, CORNBREAD CROUTONS NEED I SAY MORE??? I said I was going to recreate it and I plan to ' ' Allergy Score: this place scores highly for me in terms of allergies. I ordered a salad with nuts and they were able to accommodate my allergy perfectly with no issues. They had several vegetarian and vegan options (even a cauliflower steak and a roasted cauliflower platter I almost got). As for GF, they are very accommodating and my dad who has celiac has had no issues here! Overall? I will be back for brunch and would recommend it to anyone in the Wicker Park area this summer! We had an impromptu dinner at The Perch this evening, Mothers Day weekend. We made reservations about an hour before arrival and was seated promptly at our reserved time. We loved our cocktails, lobster deviled eggs, croquettes, mahi sandwich and the chicken dip. The chicken pot pie had a wonderful flavor but came out lukewarm. There were a few things that we liked but left us feeling "meh", and could have used some more salt like the mac and cheese. The service was warm and attentive, and overall we enjoyed our evening and will return. read more

We came to The Perch for their weekend brunch. The space inside was super cool with the ambience of a brewery combined with a trendy eatery. We ordered the breakfast platter and the quiche. The breakfast platter was quite standard, nothing too flashy here. I really enjoyed the quiche and only wish it was larger. I was a little surprised to see so much salad, but it turned out to be delicious, so it was a pleasant surprise. Since we were too full after the meal but still wanted to try a cinnamon roll, we grabbed one to go. It was HUGE! However, it did not taste as good as it looked... I was expecting heaven and got a mouthful of below-average bread. The cream cheese frosting was pretty good though. I want to come again so I can try the chorizo next time! read more

I've been here twice, both excellent experiences. First time was mid-week with a group of 6. They sat us to the side and surprisingly weren't crowded so we could hear each other just fine. They have a really cool table in the beer vat room (not sure what it's called) that looks really cool, maybe you can request that. All of us loved our food. The French dip was a highlight, the salads were great, Wrightwood Salad was wonderful, and cheese curds for an appetizer were devilishly good. It seems extremely kid friendly here, the outdoor seating is really nice, they allow dogs outside, and other nice looking restaurants surrounding this one but The Perch is always the most crowded. read more

We had lunch here this past weekend. It seemed like a cool place in a cool area, right on the main street there. I ordered a flight of beers and a fish sandwich. For my flight, I got 4 small beers; the beers are not made by the Perch, they're made by a regular brewery they must have a partnership with. They were good, except for the root beer infused porter. My fish sandwich was also very good. Great texture and flavor as well as sauce, with just the right amount of toppings. I also got a side salad. My wife had the same and we both enjoyed our sandwiches. We ended up getting and splitting a slice of peanut butter pie for dessert, which was amazing and larger than I expected. The service was good and it was nice to eat outside on a sunny day. The only down side is that our fairly simple lunch was $80, and I dont think that included the tip. I guess the drinks did us in. All in all though, it was good and I would eat here again. read more

Amazing Mahi sandwhich! Tastes like chicken lol. The fish has a really good char to it without being dry. I loved the long pickles and the sauce . Not sure if was the oil from the fish or if there's two sauces but there is also some runny sauce on it that's good and overall prevents it from being a dry sandwhich. And the toppings give it a very fresh feeling. Fries are very crispy and golden and have a little potatoe skin on them that I like. The sandwhiches are more reasonably priced than the rest of the menu. Service was fast and attentive. read more
