Overall was a very good experience! Service was friendly and attentive from the beginning and all…read morethroughout dinner, so that set the tone for the night. We were a party of 6, but 2 were lagging soooo hard for our reservation, and we weren't allowed to be seated until everyone showed up. I think the servers felt bad for us lol so they seated us after 25 minutes or so. By that time, I ordered their Espresso Martini which was delicious! They described it as "smoky and not too sweet." The restaurant itself has a very industrial warehouse kinda vibe to it, which was cool. Very laidback but upscale environment, dress up or dress down, it's totally up to you. My group ordered family style. We ordered... - Appetizers: 'spicy handroll' dip, goat empanadas, goat liver mousse - Veggies: roasted carrots, wood-fired sprouted cauliflower, sautéed green beans, grilled corn - Salad: shrimp & crispy greens salad, - Fish: pan roasted salmon, roasted oysters, - Meat: grilled kalbi-style short ribs, lamb curry - Dessert: matcha tres leches, mango sticky rice Honestly, if I were to do the same family style again, I would make sure I got a good taste of everything again. If I were to choose one of each category though, I'd go with spicy handroll dip as my favorite appetizer, sauteed green beans, I'll try the other salad option (the shrimp & crispy greens salad was really lemon-ey, almost too much), salmon was fantastic and cooked perfectly, the kalbi-style good was impressive and fall off the bone, andddd I can't really complain about either of the desserts. Everyone ended up splitting, it was maybe....$175 per person? Not too bad.

The food lagged and the dishes were not as delicious as they used to be. Green beans: this dish used to be my favorite dish and I always order for the table. Unfortunately, the dish was super salty and did not taste like is has previously. I let the waiter and waitress know but they didn't offer anything besides an apology Grilled Dorade and Naan with dip: these were the highlights of the show and items I also always order for the table. S'mores dessert: we ordered a s'mores dessert and it was a super small deconstructed s'more with one marshmallow. The graham cracker was almost a thin pretzel and had overwhelming cinnamon flavor. This dish was disappointing and the size for a child. The restaurant is beautiful, but the food and service were not up to the same caliber as usual during yesterday's dinner.

The lounge was very cozy but we also came when it was winding down. We both ordered the burger. The waitress came back and asked if we wanted to order something different since they were out of buns. We thought about it and ask do you think the Chef could just make it without the bun. She went and asked and they could. That burger protein style wrapped in the lettuce was SO GOOD. I woke up thinking about it. Thank you again Chef for accommodating that. Also we had the roasted figs, mmmm really enjoy them as well. Thank you again for ending our night with a lovely bite to eat.

The pancakes were moist and not too sweet. I wish they had more blueberries since there were only like 5 in the whole thing. The maple syrup was watery but had a real maple flavor though very light. I'd get the pancakes again. The frittata was a miss. Eggs weren't seasoned at all and it was overcooked with a rubbery texture and hard edges. This was a big disappointment considering how easy it is to make a good frittata. Biscuits were super moist and crispy, would get these again. Ambiance is nice but a bit closed in without windows really.

I must admit that this review is long overdue!…read more I have dined here at least 3 times with my latest at the chef's counter on a Friday evening and was the perfect date night spot. I lucked out with reservations on OpenTable last minute when they released a bunch of counter availability. Which is crazy since it's so hard to get a reservation that isn't at 9:45pm. My only concern was that we might be seated in front of the fire stove where the majority of the cooking is done because it can get hot and coupled with the the summer weather, I was worried about sweating lol. Luckily, we were seated at the opposite end and had the best view and enjoyed watching the chefs prep our meal. They don't serve cocktails here, just wine, and we started with two glasses of bubbly, which were delicious! However, when we tried to transition to the other wines available by the glass, none of them tasted that great and almost tasted too acidic or maybe had too many tanins for my liking. As a result, we reverted back to the sparkling wine. However, I do want to take a moment to express how amazing our server was because he was kind enough to let us sample all the reds by the glass before we committed to a glass. Also, I appreciated that he didn't chastise us when we didn't end up liking any of them. However, I absolutely love the food here! The one thing that you must get is the CORNBREAD! It's nothing like you've ever had before and is their signature dish. It's comforting, it's buttery and feels like home. I've also gotten the Pork and Green Chili Stew which is amazing (think Chile Verde). I've also tried their Ribeye, and for the price, I'm not sure that it's my favorite item on the menu. For my most recent visit, we ordered the following: Bluefin Tuna Toast - This was light and refreshing, but also filling since it sits on a slice of bread. This was enjoyable but I preferred the Baby Albacore. Baby Albacore - This is such a small dish and I think it only has six slices of fish, but it has so much depth of flavor and so much texture with the crispy shallots that we were tempted to order another one! This is a beautifully executed dish. And the best part was that we got to watch it being prepared in front of us. Mushroom Crusted Pork Chop - I had been reading that this was such an amazing dish, so I made sure to try it this time around! It did not disappoint! It was incredibly flavorful and rich. My boyfriend, who is not a fan of pork really enjoyed this dish. Sliced market tomatoes - this is a no-frills side dish, but felt that this was a perfect balance as something fresh and light against the rich and fattiness of the pork chop. I was worried that this would not be enough food for the two of us since I have a big appetite, but suffice to say I was very satisfied! The service is here is outstanding! I wish I got the name of my server, but he reminded me of Teddy Swims! He was attentive, friendly, and very accommodating! It was the best service I've had in a while! One last thing, I didn't try any desserts this time around, but I still very fondly remember the passionfruit icebox cake... Please bring that back!!!

Went to Dunsmoor for date night and managed to snag a reservation right when they opened, so we…read morewere seated almost immediately. There was already a line forming along the side of the restaurant when we got there, which I assume was for walk-ins or waitlisted guests, it looked like they were getting seated fairly quickly too. We sat at the high-top counter right in front of the open fire where they cook the steaks, fish, etc. It was actually a really fun experience getting to watch the chefs prepare and plate everything, and seeing how the kitchen operates. It reminded me of The Bear, with someone calling out orders and everyone working together to get the dishes out. The only downside is that it gets REALLY hot sitting there, but they do warn you about that when making the reservation, so we knew what we were getting into! As for the food, our favorites were the cornbread, albacore, and the pork chile stew with the house made tortillas. We also liked the sticky pudding but as it is a bit sweet already, I would opt out of the extra syrup they add on it in front of you. Service was great too, everyone was super attentive. I love that the staff's uniform seemed to be graphic tees of their choosing. Such a fun little detail that added to the restaurant's personality. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner and the experience, especially getting a front-row seat to all the kitchen action but personally didn't think it lived up to all the hype.

What a fantastic place! It took me working with an…read moreex-employee of Republique to even find out this place existed. His advice: "go in the morning, their cakes and pastries are killer; a long line forms even before they open, it will be worth it" it's hard to not go broke here, they have sometimes unnusual combinations of pastries that are always incredible! Their chocolate + salted caramel cake is my husband's favorite, its a bit much for me but I cannot deny its beauty and quality. I love all the passion fruit desserts, their danishes, anything with Caramel is also my husband's jam. Come hungry, eat something here, take some home. When dining in I've loved a slice of their quiche of the day, they give you a nice side salad with a zesty dressing, I also love ordering the baguette with salted slow-churned cultured butter (Rodolphe Le Meuiner Beurre de Baratte) and jam - simple but WOW! Fantastic place for those coming to LA for the first time, the building is just gorgeous, and for those who live in LA: you should come! I love a good french pastry, I don't come in often but when I do I am always satisfied

Definitely an LA classic! Went for dinner. All the food is made for sharing, so fun to try a bunch…read moreof dishes. The Baguette with Pan Drippings is definitely a must order...also loved the assorted Hors D'oeuvres, Campanelle Pasta and Dover Sole. The skin on the Duck wasn't rendered properly and overall didn't have the same "Wow" factor. The Chocolate Soufflé tart and Sticky Toffee Pudding were fine but not super memorable (I was expecting better given Republique's reputation for pastry). Great wine list. For some reason we ended up with three different waiters over the course of our dinner...a bit disjointed, but all friendly and helpful.
