This review only covers the restaurant (not the Inn) -- we had a recent work event here.
The food was nice enough (solid three star Yelp I think), especially considering the big group of people. I am adding one star for the beautiful venue -- we sat in a little parlor, one big table, just for our group. Absolutely lovely setting, and the private setting allowed for comfortable conversation.
Unfortunately they did keep us waiting too long in the lounge/common area -- at least 45 minutes after the time we'd booked. Then the way they took orders and served the dishes was odd. We had a limited menu (no problem!), 3 choices each for starter, main, and dessert. They asked each person for his or her choices. But they took our orders while we were still in the common area. So basically they just had a count, how many of each dish.
When we finally went in and sat down at our table -- they started coming out with the dishes as they were prepared, asking: 'Duck liver?' and passing out the dishes to people who claimed them. Seemed a bit ... i don't know, amateurish?
These are relatively minor issues, and good food in a beautiful room were more important. all in all, especially considering the rather limited selection of places around here, it's a solid choice. read more
