Everything tasted good, even more so with a relaxing atmosphere and interesting table neighbors. Service was pleasant, but oddly fast on the food coming out, while slow for the drinks. Rest rooms were available inside the hotel for customers, which is kind of a big thing when you're within a very crowded downtown.

I wanted to trust but only a few days earlier I'd stayed in a place that dated from the 1500's so I really can't be certain. As I checked in, I asked, and the best information that the clerk could provide was "it's real old; we're not certain just how old though". The New Inn features small rooms accessed through narrow corridors as one would expect from a very old place. It's well maintained but not the least bit fancy. My room's bathroom featured a shower stall only (no bathtub) and the furnishings were utilitarian as opposed to decorative. One part of the building juts out and additional rooms are on this wing, entered directly from the outside, with picnic tables out front. If you can't navigate the narrow corridors inside, these rooms might be the better option. Like everyplace in the UK, breakfast is included in your overnight stay and served in a vey busy restaurant on the main floor during posted hours. Breakfast fare accomplished the job of filling my stomach but, like the place overall, was nothing to get excited about. For a single night the New Inn Hotel is a perfectly decent choice if one isn't seeking much more than a room and a breakfast in Lechlade.

This is my second visit to the hotel, and I splurge this time on a room called the room with a view. An amazing patio of more than 500 ft.² greet to you as you walk into the room outside floor ceiling windows and doors. The room is super tech savvy with almost all functions controlled from a panel on the wall next to the desk. This includes automated lowering and raising of blinds for the floor ceiling windows, as well as closing and opening full length draperies for the same. The bathroom is super spacious with double sink vanities in a large walk-in shower. This would be a wonderful room for anyone to celebrate the holidays in. It's equipped with a super comfy king size bed, and down comforter. There's also two couches in the room, facing the large picture windows and a small round table with two chairs for indoor dining. But the patio is unreal and includes a larger outdoor dining table for four and two large chase lounges. What makes this room so spectacular is the views of Saint Mary's church and the whole of Oxford University. Aspires of Oxford are magical and at night it's absolutely spectacular. Everything about this hotel is five star from the service the moment you check in until you check out. Room service is fast and efficient as is maid service in the mornings. Included with the room is a fully stocked mini bar and wine refrigerator. that's updated daily. You're also given a large platter of super fresh fruit, that is also refreshed daily. There's a hot pot for making tea and a really nice coffee pod machine that makes espresso. The wall opposite the bed sports a large flat panel TV. Location of the old bank hotel is prime real estate in the center of high Street in the middle of shops, pubs and restaurants. Cross the street and you are immediately on the grounds of Oxford University a wonderful place for exploring. Can't say enough about this hotel, the physical aspects, the service, and the location. I will always choose this place when I'm in Oxford.

The design is excellent, a beautiful desk and chairs and tables--modern and tasteful. They keep everything impeccably clean. The art collection is stunning. The bath spacious, even in my room for one. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and charming. Coffee and tea are abundant. The lounging areas--a snook in the rear of the hotel--is a great place to prepare for the day. The food is excellent. The hotel sits on Oxford's High Street, right across from the towering All Souls College. Old Bank is a perfect hotel. I can't wait to stay there again.

The full English breakfast is really FULL with lots of coffee, toast and juices. This is a hotel I will recommend to friends and hopefully return to.

However, overall hotel room comfort did not meet expectations. When we checked in, our room was very hot due to the sun coming in the windows. The AC didn't work properly and the front desk was very slow in finding someone to solve the problem. Because we faced the street, it was too noisy to have the windows open at night to get fresh air. Perhaps I would have felt differently if given a room in the back with a view of the gardens. This was our least favorite hotel out of the six we stayed in during a 7-day walking tour.

The staffs were courteous and kindly checked for availability for us. We then were greeted and seated soon after. The service at Fig was great. The tea selections are great. The High Tea set are delicious and quite a lot! I actually enjoyed the scones quite a lot even though I don't like it that much in the States. Quality, Service, and Experience definitely worth more than 22£ per person.

I'm going to give this 5 stars for being a great Premier Inn, not for the grade of hotel…read more It's brand new, built by the river next to the Worcester County Cricket ground, which on my visit was completely underwater, as you can see in the picture! Rooms were a good size, clean and comfortable with all the usual facilities that you would expect from a Premier Inn - en suite bathroom, large TV, hairdryer, tea & coffee facilities (no biscuits though), choice of pillows for the bed, and 30 minutes free Wi-Fi. Minimal, but all you need for a good night's sleep - in fact, they do say that they will refund your money if you don't sleep properly. I was tempted to put this to the test as I didn't really get back to sleep after being woken up by the room upstairs returning at 1.30am, but that's not the fault of the hotel so it would have been churlish of me to complain. The check-in has two automated desks similar to ATMs or airline check-ins that are very easy to use, although there was a very helpful and friendly staff member on duty as well to help guide you through the process if needed. They also reassured me that the night watchman would keep an eye on the car in the car park and wake me up if the rising flood waters, which were already covering a third of the car park, threatened to engulf it. The bar and restaurant is in the building, and the staff both at the bar and at breakfast could not have been more helpful and friendly. I didn't eat the evening meal in the bar, but the menu looked OK and reasonably priced. Had I not had a prior engagement I would have eaten here quite happily. As usual at Premier, breakfast is extra but it's worth buying one as you can eat all you want from the buffet. There was a good choice of hot food to order, including vegetarian sausages (yay!). This might be because the place is new and they're trying to make a good impression (it worked!), but I hope it lasts, as this is a very convenient location close to the city centre when visiting Worcester.
