First time at this Peanut location. The service was so slow. We are very patient since we used to wait tables when we were very young - but this was just awful. I just wanted to scream "consolidate your steps." The food was pretty bad. I have never seen a special so un-special. I had no idea mash potatoes could look like gravy and the chicken fried steak could be burnt on one end and soft on the other. After sending this slop back - not one manager came by to correct this - or apologize. The staff seemed so un organized and really could use some leadership. read more

We have eaten here many times and always love the Reubens, but tonight is the last time we order food from The Peanut. We ordered Reubens to go, the fries were old and cold, and there was so much saurkraut you could hardly find the corn beef. The absolutely BEST chicken bacon avocado salad I have ever had !!! Everything was cooked to perfection, the avocado slices were excellent, the red onion, delicious, and the entire presentation of this salad was magnificent !!! worst place i've ever ate! Food was terrible! The cole slaw was literally out of the bag, no dressing on it at all. It was shredded cabbage that's it. The bbq brisket was lacking sauce. My wife has a chicken sandwich that was rubbery. the pasta salad was cold noodles only, no dressing on it either. Would highly recommend staying as far away as possible. Took my daughter here on a cold night while the KU game was on. When we arrived, they said we were looking at a 30 min wait. I think it ended up being closer to 45 mins, but that is mainly because during KU basketball games, nobody is leaving their tables when they finish eating, they hang out and watch. So, the hostess was very nice to my daughter as we waited for the table. Finally, after 45 min wait, we were seated. I ordered the Wings, and my daughter got the side of mac n cheese. One thing to note, is there is no kids menu, or children's sized items on the menu, but in our situation, it worked out that she could just order a side of mac n cheese. Not long after, the food came out. My wings were okay, but not nearly as amazing as some other reviews had made me think they would be. The side of mac n cheese was pretty big, it surprised me, and she ate the whole thing, loved it. After we had finished the meal, our waitress came over and said that since my daughter had been so good while we were waiting, they wanted to buy her a dessert on the house. So, she got a chocolate cheesecake I believe, or something along those lines. All in all, the food was pretty good, but what I really liked about the Peanut was the wait staff and the atmosphere. I would say the food was 3-4 stars, and the customer service and staff in general was 5 stars. Im sure we will be back, since it is only about 2 mins from my house. read more

The salsa is too hot and other than the hotness, flavorless. The coleslaw was dry and flavorless also. Traded the coleslaw for potato salad and it had an odd vinegar taste. The bathroom stalls don't open enough, the door hits the commode. read more

Food was amazing (as always) and my beer was ice cold, no complaints there. I was hoping being in Olathe they would add a kids menu or some crayons/coloring paper but that wasn't the case. I'll certainly be back with friends but not ideal to bring the family if you have toddlers. read more

My fiancé, and I have been coming to this location since they opened up. We went three days in a row in March, and several days after that because of their nachos. They're that good! Always hot temperatures like hot,fresh food should be. However we had a very bad time roughly 2 weeks ago where I ordered what i normally did, and the beef was cold as well as chips. Server was unattentive, very disrespectful when I asked for it to be corrected. Ended up with near burnt chips and gave up on it. Had to remake my fiancé's food as well.(They were the carnitas nachos, we both left pretty hungry still). Manager did correct it the best they could, however it made us want to avoid this location after the service i was provided. We gave it another shot, nearly same issues; lukewarm at best. No where as good as it always was when we went all the time. But! One of the other managers/ owners( i forget her name) she took the time to hear us out, and ensured that this issue would not happen again. We were very happy because she saved the day with fresh hot food that day. Just got an order to go; was fresh and very tasty! Peanut of Olathe is still one of my favs! Thank you! read more

This was the third week in a row I went to the Peanut for the Wednesday steak special... This was the third time in a row that the steak was initially over cooked (ordered medium rare came out medium well) sent it back came out bleu) so it goes back again and now it's like it's been microwaved.. It's not the server's fault. Asked for the manager - Matt - he was very unhelpful... Almost aggressive... Wasn't prepared to make any concession on the cost of the check until pushed. Don't get me wrong... It's a really good bar generally but the inability to cook steaks properly... Especially on a weekly special.. Is not acceptable and then when you add in the managers attitude ??!!?? So long story long... He said I wasn't welcome to come back.. So I'm barred... What great customer service?!! I've been eating at one of The Peanut locations for over 30 years. So I was excited when this one opened closer to me than the other locations. The space is nice - new but feels like a Peanut. It was busy, but we were seated almost immediately. It took a while for our waitress to come get our drink order. It took a few minutes shy of 30 minutes for her to take our food order. And another 25+ minutes for our food to arrive. We saw 2-3 tables (with a different server) get seated, order and be served their food before us. We ordered 3 triple BLTs, a burger and an order of wings and fries. The burger was warm and fine. Same with the wings. The BLTs were the worst I've ever had at a Peanut. The entire sandwich was cold. I realize the lettuce, tomato and cheese should be. But the bacon and the toast were as well. The homemade potato chips were chewy and undercooked - crispy around the edges and chewy in the middle. They were inconsistent - some were, some weren't. We mentioned to the waitress that it took a long time to get our food and she stated the kitchen was backed up. Well the three tables seated after us didn't have that problem and especially since their server came by their table sooner. I'm not sure I will give this location another shot or not. Below average service and subpar food. As I've started, I've been eating BLTs at the Peanut for 30+ years and this is the worst by far. read more

I can't understand all the great reviews. I got the BLT with potato salad, side of onion rings, hummus appetizer and hubby got a beer and sante fe chicken salad. He thought the salad was good. I hated everything i had. Pleeeeze NO cheese or onion on the blt, yuck, the potato salad tasted spoiled, then i realized it was the pickles in it that tasted bad after i took a bite of the pickles on the plate, i love all pickles and these were awful. Every time i tried a bite of the potato salad it would "zing" my tongue, wasted it all. The onion rings are uncomfortably wide to bite into, something that fits in your mouth would be better. The hummus was chunky and had no flavor, the veg that came with it - celery was wimpy thin and brown, the cucumber slices had ranch dressing on them like they picked them off a salad and put them on our plate which was weird, the warm pita was delicious. The waitress was friendly and checked on us often enough, if only the food was better. read more

Last night I had a really young waitress, blue soccer jersey, who was honestly terrible. She checked on our table ONE time and we were there over an hour. Other people were bringing us our food and drinks because she was too busy chatting up some table of guys down the way. Hello!? She also proceeded to tell me (I'm 24) that my Kansas Drivers Licenses was FAKE!? I'm sorry but if you aren't of age don't tell me I can't come and get a beer with my friends. Y'all need to train these young people better. And she told me that you guys don't do the daily specials that are LISTED on your website. I went here for the first time ever last night because I have heard crazy good things about their wings! I finally got together with some girlfriends there. We waited at a table since they told us it was open seating for about 17 minutes if not longer to get greeted. We are all servers so we are pretty understanding & calm. There was multiple girls who would just look at us & none of them would serve us until my friend finally got up & asked the bar tender if we could get someone at our table. This girl came to take our drinks orders & told us that our waitress would be right with us she was great wish she would've been our waitress. When she finally decided to show up by our table she was extremely rude with a terrible attitude. She was just seriously terrible I was starting to get a little pissed off. She did so many things that bother me that I feel would take way too long to ever write on this review. She's lucky I won't put her name on here. On the other hand the only reason why I'm giving this place 3 stars is because the WING WERE FREAKING AMAZING. I don't know why I would even spend my money eating wings anywhere else.
