Good thing one of the girls behind the counter spoke English because the menu is in Spanish. Good thing is there are pictures so even if they didn't it wouldn't be an issue. I didn't see chichironies but asked if they had them and they said yes. I got them. If you've never had chichironies (chunks of fried skin pork) you should stop in and have them. There were no desserts offered here at the time of this posting. Most meals in the $16-$30 range before tax, in 2026. I stopped here for breakfast before my flight since I got here way early and had plenty of time. The place was not busy and I took a seat at a table with menu already there. The server/bartender came over to take my order. I got an ice water and ordered the Lumberjack Breakfast ($18.99 plus tax), served in 12 minutes after ordering. The huge plate had 2 semi thick blueberry pancakes, 2 eggs (got scrambled), 2 bacon strips, 2 sausage links and seasoned deep fried homefries (fresh cut potatoes), ketchup at table and breakfast syrup provided. This breakfast was very filling to eat and nice and hot. The homefries and blueberry pancakes were especially filling. I got one of the pancakes in a to go box with a syrup cup provided to eat on the flight. I was able to scan the QR code on the table to pay on my phone. Overall, a good filling breakfast before a fairly long day of delayed & rebooked flights, a domino effect from the bad weather the night before. The service was adequate and the server wished "safe travels" to each customer including to the pilots sitting at the next table. The menu seems trimmed down from the previous place The Local, but at least Queen City Diner offers breakfast all day.

It was a wonderful ending to a perfect day.

As someone who is admittedly a bit of a pizza snob, I enjoyed the pizza and think it's close to being great, but it's not quite there yet. A couple of small refinements could make a noticeable difference. Finishing every pizza with freshly grated Parmesan would add another layer of flavor, and a crispier bottom crust would give it the texture and bite that great pizza should have. The one disappointment was the wings. While they looked appetizing and were cooked well, they lacked seasoning and depth of flavor. They were bland enough that even my children stopped eating them. Good wings should stand on their own, with the dipping sauce complementing the flavor rather than supplying it. Overall, this is a great outdoor beer garden with a lot of potential. The atmosphere and IPA were excellent, and the pizza is headed in the right direction. If the kitchen brings more flavor to the food, especially the wings, I might be back to give it another try.

The space offers a full service bar with seating in the back, high top table seating, booths, and armchairs. The walls are decorated with plenty of mallard duck art prints, two flatscreen TVs above the bar, board games, sitdown arcade game in the adjacent room. I stopped by The Mallard over the weekend. I was here to try the food. I found an open table and looked over the menu. I walked up to the bar in the back to place my food order. They took my card to start a tab and preauthorized the charge for my food order. The food came out to my table in 15 minutes. The Spinach Artichoke Dip ($12 plus tax) was thick & dense with a blend of spinach, artichokes, and cheeses, served with crunchy corn chips. The Roost ($15 plus tax) had slices of roasted cracked pepper turkey, VT cheddar, tomato, red onion, and mayo on thick slices of soft toasted bread, salted potato chips on the side. The sandwich was described as a "panini" on the menu, which wasn't hot pressed, just a toasted sandwich and was missing the lettuce, as described on the menu. I assumed they ran out, but nonetheless, the Roost sandwich still tasted pretty good and so was the spinach artichoke dip, nothing fancy. After finishing the food and my cup of water, I bused the plastic baskets and used dip dish and headed up to the bar to finalize the tab on the touchscreen, which was $29.30 with tax and before tip. I was able to catch some of the March Madness action on the TVs while enjoying the food.
