My first tattoo here was over 6 years ago, color is still great and get lots of compliments. My latest tattoo though is the one that means the most. My son passed away in January and he had a rose tattoo on his right forearm. His father and I wanted to have the same tattoo as his in the same location. Luis was the artist who tattooed my son 4 years ago, and he was there to do ours. It was all fate, he happened to be there, able to work us in with short notice before my son's Dad headed back to TX. Not only did the tattoos turn out amazing, it helped with grief. Luis work is awesome and he has such great energy. I am so thankful we had this experience and I will definitely be back! However, as soon as I met Jimmy, he didn't even start sketching an outline until he asked all the questions to get me exactly what I wanted. While he was tattooing me, not only did he keep confirming how I wanted it colored in, but he engaged in great conversation. I wanted a Studio Ghibli tattoo. The shop actually looks a lot different now than it did 12 years ago, but one thing that hasn't changed, the quality!!! Also the professionalism and the "at home" atmosphere. If you're in Eugene or visiting Eugene and want to get a tattoo this is the place to go! All the artists are very talented and its important to them that you get exactly what you want. ($60 deposit not refundable, so don't waste their time or yours.) If you have an idea but need to flush it out with one of the artists then make an appointment, the $60 deposit goes to the tattoo so the design appointment is essentially free. (Remember: deposit non-refundable!!!) If you have an idea that's already drawn out TRUST your artist if he/she has some suggestions on alterations or size changes, they know what they're doing and it looking good on paper doesn't mean it will look good exactly like that on you. ETZEL LEGUIZAMON is the man!! He did my latest ink and he was great. He had done a tattoo on my sister the week before so I messaged him on instagram (thanks IG) and asked him if he would have time while I was in town. He said yes so I sent him a couple of images that were close to what I wanted and he sketched the piece. My appointment was at 12 and I was out by 1pm. He was awesome! The only tattoo shop I knew of downtown was High Priestess, but the artist working there at the time said he doesn't do cover ups. I was disheartened because I really wanted to get a spontaneous tattoo. I walked around a little more and found The Parlour. The artist working there, Jerry, and the receptionist, Madeline, were both very friendly and accommodating. Jerry saw that all my other tattoos were solid black tattoos and suggested I cover up my text with something else solid black. Yes, my thoughts exactly! He immediately understood the overall aesthetic I am going for with my tattoos, made a perfect suggestion for how to cover up my text, and we got started right away. It was a super chill experience, and exactly what I wanted. I'm very pleased with Jerry's work and positive attitude. I got a tattoo last night with Jimmy. It's even more amazing than I could even imagine! I showed up around 4:30 and didn't leave until after closing. Jimmy took his time making sure the drawing was exactly what I wanted and did an exceptional job putting it on my arm. The conversation never stopped! This is absolutely the worst place to go to get a tattoo. I paid over $ 200 to get a small tatoo around my wrist covered up and it looks WAY worse than it did to begin with. Ok, I have wanted to go in here for the longest time and finally did. I was excited, however the minute i walked in I was grilled about if I was going to get work done. Aside from that pressure, one of the artists, told me to put my phone away because he thought I was taking pictures of their work which I wasn't I was talking to my ex wife, after that awkward encounter when I walked back up to the counter he asked where I got taken the book from in a condescending tone, which I didn't happen, the book was given to me by the receptionist. All in all this place seems like a shop where college kids come and get flash tats which is cool but the guy at the shop was an asshole, which is why i left l. The dude has a huge beard and is kind short. So if you do go in there just don't even engage with him, he's a dick and he'll probably just turn you off to the whole idea just like he did to me. read more

Absolute horrible service. There was no hello or how may I help you. I walked in and two people just casually glanced and went about there business and the other two people didn't even bother to look up. We waited outside for about 10 minutes for the doors to open. In addition, we were the first and only clients to walk in, so it's not like they didn't notice us. Still, the reason why they are so trash is not because they didn't say hi, but because they made a big deal over a simple cover up. I told the guy I wanted to get something covered up and immediately, before I showed him what or where, he seemed to be getting nervous and blurted out why they COULDN'T do it. Another overpriced trash tattoo parlour here in the heart of Eugene. We talked for ten mins, then he told me to check out an artist who wasn't there (mistake #1) but would be best at attempting (huge mistake #2) the Polynesian cover up I now successfully have. His portfolio was garbage. Also, no one is ATTEMPTING any tattoo on my arm. You either can do it or you cant. I noticed that much of the work done there was cartoonish, a sort of Ed Hardy style. I felt like that was their specialty and in my opinion, wasn't anything special. read more

We are so glad we stopped in. Our artist, Etzle, was awesome. At first, I was a little apprehensive about him because he hasn't been a tattoo artist for very long. He did an amazing job. One of the girls with me is an artist and drew up our designs before we came in. Each of us had chosen something deeply personal. Etzle talked to each one of us about our choices. He gave us his artistic perspective and really added to what we walked through the door with. He was professional, personable, and really good at his job. This tattoo shop really wasn't our first choice, as we'd been referred by a friend in Fort Collins to got to High Priestess, but let me say, it was a FANTASTIC experience. The staff are friendly and joke a lot. My three friends got in, just by WALKING IN -- all three of us managed to go back to back with a relatively new artist (which honestly made us a bit wary) - His name is Etzel. And he's great. Truly. He has a natural talent - He did a star with my gal pal's daughter's name - great. I wanted a Rimbaud quotation on my upper ribcage done in my handwriting in french. He got my writing spot on (i know it's with a stencil, but that's still hard!) I am in love with it. He then did Colorado state flowers on my gal pal Luci's foot. His color use was absolutely great. I had been looking for years to find an artist I felt comfortable enough with to have them do my tat. I found Jimmy Singleton at The Parlous Tattoo and couldn't be more happy with the results. He completely captured the image I had in mind and has laid down the base for what I know will be an amazing piece once it's completed. I live 2 hours away from this shop but I've made the drive to get all of my 3 tattoos on separate occasions just so I could be tatted by Jerry. I was super nervous to get my first one, (mountain range and coordinates in my fathers handwriting) and he added his personal touches to it making it look even better than what I had brought in.The second time I went I got matching tattoos with my mom and sister, and they got us in and out in little time! The bigger piece on my arm I came as a walk in and they were more than happy to do it right before they were closing. The staff is super helpful friendly, and give their professional opinions on every piece ( which might be why some people have given negative reviews). I no longer live in Oregon anymore, but when I go back to visit I definitely will be making a stop here. Theres no other artist that I would want to use.
