I'm working on a One Piece-inspired Japanese style dragon sleeve, and his knowledge of traditional Japanese tattooing really shows in every detail. When we were designing the piece, he even went out of his way to watch episodes of One Piece so he could really understand the vibe and bring the right energy into the design. That level of dedication meant a lot to me. Throughout the appointment, he explained every step of the process so I always felt comfortable and knew what was happening next. The shop in Springfield off Q Street is always clean, welcoming, and has great music playing, which makes the whole experience even better. The sleeve isn't finished yet, but it already looks amazing, and I'm beyond excited to keep working with Illya to complete it. If you're looking for someone who is knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and genuinely cares about bringing your vision to life -- I can't recommend him enough.

They were suuuper kind and very adaptable to the changes I was wanting for my tattoo! Their space is very clean and they're very knowledgeable. If you need a break at all during the tattoo they are very able to give you one and the shop even has some Gatorade for you to have! The only small downside was their station is right next to the bathroom, could be a pro or con depending how you look at it.. someone used it during my tattoo and it wasn't the best smell, but that went away quickly!

I'm getting ready for new ink…read more.. I got my first piece back in the 70s...when women just didn't. A few years ago, I wanted it re-touched...and I wanted to grow the small rose on my ankle into something more. I went in to consult with Diane after having seen her work on a couple of other people - I quite liked the natural style and her choice of color. She has now done that piece, a bracelet of roses around my wrist, a river scene/ribbon on my other arm, and gorgeous pieces on my left shoulder and my lower back. Lots of floral...and my Corgi. We have plans for several more pieces. She's also done work for my daughter and my daughter-in-law, both of which turned out beautifully. Much love to Tattoo by Design and Diane!

I initially came to her with my vision and she put a lot of work into refining drafts and coming up with a solid piece that I would eventually fall in love with. My piece is very cultural and Kinsey understood that. She impressed me by investing a lot of time into research to make sure that we were going to get this right. That meant a lot to me. Kinsey's creativity and talent is out of this world. You'll see that if you walk into her office and take a look at her portfolio. You'll come to appreciate all of the skills and technique it takes to successfully complete a big tattoo project. Kinsey taught me that there's so much more that goes into a tattoo than one would think. It's about placement, anatomy, color, design, and more! The facility at Myth Tattoo is super clean and the equipment that Kinsey uses is top-notch. She's also got a great personality, which makes every session that much easier to sit through. She's super empathetic to those who are wusses to pain (me) and makes the process as comfortable as possible for her clients. I definitely recommend her!
