He has the straightest line work in town. A portion of my tattoo has thousands of dots in it. Each dot has its own shading. To match up with the rest of the Masterpiece! I have two more sessions scheduled after doing two sessions already. I can't wait to get back in there!! It is very much worth mentioning, Alec cares very much about your safety and the safety of others. While doing my Tattoo if we had to break for anything. All new gloves on, new plastic everywhere. He was very meticulous when it comes to safety at his shop. Ending with other people working at the shop. My wife got a tattoo that works there that is not Alec. Dang he did an excellent job too!! Coloring, line work, everything, spot on! Also very professional and safety conscious. Black Label is the by far the best tattoo shop around!! If you are going to get something on your body that is going to last forever. You might as well go to the only place in town qualified, in my opinion is Black Label Tattoo.

After my brother passed, I wanted a matching tattoo that he had. Joe took my brothers tattoo and practically matched it, if not made it better! He took his time to do highlighting and details for realism. He was CLEAN. Sprayed everything down and actually spent over 15-20 minutes just making sure everything was clean and prepared. He talked the whole time which helped distract me. As someone who is deathly afraid of needles and highly anxious, Joe was able to calm me down and delivery a BEAUTIFUL piece. I'm so glad I chose him for this special first piece. No regrets and worries, plus reasonably priced. Thank you Joe!!!

I initially came to her with my vision and she put a lot of work into refining drafts and coming up with a solid piece that I would eventually fall in love with. My piece is very cultural and Kinsey understood that. She impressed me by investing a lot of time into research to make sure that we were going to get this right. That meant a lot to me. Kinsey's creativity and talent is out of this world. You'll see that if you walk into her office and take a look at her portfolio. You'll come to appreciate all of the skills and technique it takes to successfully complete a big tattoo project. Kinsey taught me that there's so much more that goes into a tattoo than one would think. It's about placement, anatomy, color, design, and more! The facility at Myth Tattoo is super clean and the equipment that Kinsey uses is top-notch. She's also got a great personality, which makes every session that much easier to sit through. She's super empathetic to those who are wusses to pain (me) and makes the process as comfortable as possible for her clients. I definitely recommend her!

I suggested that in the future we should all get tattoos that remind us of each other. Everyone agreed. Although later that summer my Aunt Tami told me that the only reason she said yes was because she knew my mother would never go through with it ;-) We are a very close family and my Momma and Aunt Tami have always been friends and sisters. Their nickname for each other was sweet pea. Sadly in September of 2010 we lost my Aunt Tami to cancer. Flash forward to March 2012. My family and I were in Eugene to visit other family members for a birthday. When we arrived at our hotel I opened the curtains and saw Black Lotus Tattoo across the street. I said, "Well Momma, here's your chance, let's do our tattoos now!" Without hesitation she said yes and after doing some research online about Black Lotus and other tattoo parlors in Eugene we gave them a call. They had a cancellation and were able to get us in a half hour later. Mom's tattoo was a three part sweet pea flower with stem and leaves. It turned out amazingly beautiful with sharp detail and created shading and multi level color. I've seen many half-ass flower tats, especially sweet peas because of their natural form, but Felix did a wonderful job creating a lovely tattoo that my mother will cherish forever. That day was like filling the circle for us and Felix helped make the possible. Pros: Large, open facility Clean Everyone was friendly and helpful Many books to flip through, although we brought our own art. Momma's tattooist was Felix. He did great work and had a great attitude. He became part of the fun right away. ;-) He also advised us on a few other tattoo options that I was wanting advice on and it was extremely helpful. Thanks Felix! Cons: Honestly, over the entire trip, we didn't have one con. 6th street isn't the best side of Eugene but we stayed in the area for the weekend and didn't have any issues.

A few years ago, I wanted it re-touched...and I wanted to grow the small rose on my ankle into something more. I went in to consult with Diane after having seen her work on a couple of other people - I quite liked the natural style and her choice of color. She has now done that piece, a bracelet of roses around my wrist, a river scene/ribbon on my other arm, and gorgeous pieces on my left shoulder and my lower back. Lots of floral...and my Corgi. We have plans for several more pieces. She's also done work for my daughter and my daughter-in-law, both of which turned out beautifully. Much love to Tattoo by Design and Diane!

Each artist's booth has its own high tech setup and plush tattoo bench. I went to Mak for a cover up on my arm that I've been wanting for years, I just couldn't find the right artist to do it. He's happy to do cover ups and touch ups on old tattoos, but not all artists will. We did some blackberries over a couple of smaller tattoos that I had done a few laser treatments on years ago. I love his neo traditional tattoo style and color choices. It looks so so much better now, I can actually look at my arm and smile instead of trying to hide it. It's been a few weeks and I've already had a bunch of compliments and I'm just so happy to finally have the tattoo I want and those old tattoos covered. Definitely check out this shop and Mak Gallegos!
