When I started asking around town for to best place to get a tattoo, every single person I asked said Alec and Black Label. I had my appointment over the weekend and it was amazing. Alec is the nicest dude and him and his team are for real. The shop was clean and comfortable and the art came out PERFECT! Alec and that shop are the perfect representation of what makes Eugene so great.

Alec is the most talented artist I've ever come across. I drove all the way from Los Angeles to come see him. Los Angeles, one of biggest tattoo cities in the world, has nobody on his level. I spent two full days with him getting tattooed and consider him a friend after not even knowing him. I'm coming back up later this year to get the inside of my arm finished. Alec is such a good, positive dude and I can't say enough. #TheGOAT

My husband had gotten a ship tattoo from Alec a few months ago and decided he wanted an ocean theme so we went in last night and he got a lighthouse tattoo on his other leg. Alec was so professional and took his time on it . It turned out so beautiful . I would recommend black label tattoos to anyone wanting a quality piece of work . I sat and visited with Gage and Nate and they were very personable I saw some of their designs and was very impressed . I know alec is booked quit always out but if you need something now and don't have the patience you need to come in and see Nate or gage ! I will definately be back thank you for the beautiful tat !!

Never called me nor sent an email.

I've called the shop multiple times. Not Alec nor Danielle have acknowledged the problem. The first tattoo appointment I scheduled in April of 2021 was rescheduled because I called the day of my appointment to confirm, and Danielle rescheduled me. She told me on the phone February 28th. I didn't know alex doesn't work on Tuesday's. I didn't know it was his sons bday. Now she claimed she said Feb 5th. Mind you; I've had the same number. She claimed not to have it but also claimed to have contacted Me and never left an email me or voicemail. I had to email Alec's gmail directly. I thought I was communicating with him, but it turns out it was Danielle. She yet again lied and claimed not to have my information, but in the email, you'll see my current number. I then claimed to have texted me. In one text, she claims she never called me. She texted me. This is unprofessional, and I feel scammed. No one contacted me. I have paperwork from my phone company for all the call logs and texts. I do not see an area code 541 for Eugene. Mind you, I live in Salem. I drive all the to Eugene to meet Alec in person. He took a picture of my back, and I told him what I wanted. Initially, I just wanted the tattoo I paid for and waited days for them to get back to me. They read my messages, and not one of them or the shop has redirected me. I put a $500 cash deposit down. Also never got a sketch after he agreed to do my garage outline tattoo and his words, "make it better" I waited a year and a half. At this point, I want my refund, or I'll go to small claims court.

Decided to go to this tattoo shop because of the good reviews. After going and getting such a simple tattoo, I cannot express enough how important it is to really do your research. After reaching out to the shop to express how my tattoo was coming along (ink peeling off and tattoo fading within 2 weeks) see timed stamped photos, they agreed that they would take care of it for me. After much back and forth with the shop owner, we agreed to a friday @ 6p where he would take care of it for me. Friday comes along and the shop owner is no where to be found. I reach out to some of the employees there about it and they have no idea what I'm talking about. Long story short, one the employee says that there is nothing that can be done and that they would need to charge me an extra $50 to fix it. They told me that my tattoo is in a high fading spot... which I totally understand, as I currently have 4 other hand tattoos. None of which have faded for the 3+ years I have had them. Plain and simple is that the tattoo was done poorly, and instead of admitting it and fixing it they just wanted more $ for something that should have been done right the first time. Poor work: if the tattoo artist is inexperienced, it is possible they will not have done good work. Perhaps they have not penetrated deep enough, used too little ink or not gone over the area sufficiently. In these cases, the tattoo may start to peel a lot and ink comes off. This is one of the many reasons you need to go to a trusted tattoo artist, even if it costs you more money initially.

I put a deposit down in January for a tattoo appointment that they could only booked out til April 16 Alec is always out of town. Couldn't meet with me about my tattoo ideas Three days before the appointment I said I needed to reschedule. I was asked why and told to come down to the shop. My $100 deposit was not refunded and now I am told they don't want to do business with me I got ahold of them three days before my appointment to reschedule due to never meeting with the artist and a family emergency Now I am left without my deposit or Ink

Getting my first tattoo was a huge deal for me, and I was honestly pretty nervous walking in -- but…read moreIllya made the entire experience incredible from start to finish. I'm working on a One Piece-inspired Japanese style dragon sleeve, and his knowledge of traditional Japanese tattooing really shows in every detail. When we were designing the piece, he even went out of his way to watch episodes of One Piece so he could really understand the vibe and bring the right energy into the design. That level of dedication meant a lot to me. Throughout the appointment, he explained every step of the process so I always felt comfortable and knew what was happening next. The shop in Springfield off Q Street is always clean, welcoming, and has great music playing, which makes the whole experience even better. The sleeve isn't finished yet, but it already looks amazing, and I'm beyond excited to keep working with Illya to complete it. If you're looking for someone who is knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and genuinely cares about bringing your vision to life -- I can't recommend him enough.

They were suuuper kind and very adaptable to the changes I was wanting for my tattoo! Their space is very clean and they're very knowledgeable. If you need a break at all during the tattoo they are very able to give you one and the shop even has some Gatorade for you to have! The only small downside was their station is right next to the bathroom, could be a pro or con depending how you look at it.. someone used it during my tattoo and it wasn't the best smell, but that went away quickly!

Had a remarkable experience getting my vertical labret piercing done by Jared. My step daughter got…read moreher nose pierced as well. The place was clean, and professional. The only issue I had was the cost of jewelry, I felt like they strive to have the best quality of fine jewelry, and the style is this natural gemstone, hippie look, but not everyone is about that. I wish there more bling and affordable options. Overall though great experience and I would definitely go back! I would recommend Kate, Jared is cool too but definitely smelled of the MJ.

I last saw Chris 8 years ago for some realistic flowers to mark the birth of my granddaughters…read more That work was flawless. Just got a new grand baby. June birth flower is a rose. Didn't want a rose as we know it, so Chris did this desert rose for me. And, I couldn't be happier. Let's start with the place! Chris's shop is incredibly clean and fun. The walls are covered in new, in the box, characters from WWE, Scooby Doo, Simpsons and a bunch others. There's also beautiful skateboard decks and canvases he's painted. If you get bored there are classic pinball machines. He played really diverse music covering lots styles. It was loud enough but it was easy to chat. I was really impressed by the professional front desk girl. She gave her undivided attention until she was finished and then she went back to reading a book...reading?! Wow! She was great. About Chris: His workstation...CLEAN AND ORGANIZED. He wore gloves and changes mid tattoo when he needed. He opened sealed/sterilized needles in front of me. Other thing I sooooo appreciated is his gentle touch. Needles stabbing you sucks, but when it came down to whipping excess ink and fluid's away he was very gentle. He was very thorough talking about aftercare. Outside of the tattoo, he is an excellent conversationalist...quiet at times, attentive, and opinionated (in the right way). You should ask him about the books he's authored! Once again a great experience and I couldn't be happier. Thanks Chris.
