5 stars to the staff! They were amazing over this 4th of July weekend. The aperol spritz was my favorite here of all the places in town. My husband enjoyed the margaritas. Dinner was delicious. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the Greek salad. My husband enjoyed his pasta. The ambiance is classy with a touch of country. Really fun spot.

We were passing through Ouray and decided to have dinner in this cute town. We were obviously outsiders but were treated kindly nonetheless. Short wait so we poked around town for a few. Staff was friendly and they had a great pianist. I got the ribeye- i honestly wished it had a little more flavor but it was still good. Wife got the filet - she ordered it medium but it was closer to well. The bread was great!

Shrimp appetizer.

Right in downtown Ouray, this restaurant has a honky tonk vibe. Good wait staff and there's a piano player too. John Wayne ate here! Good cocktails and passable wine list. The steaks and prime rib are always solid. Had the chipotle shrimp appetizer. Spicy and flavorful. Had steak for dinner. Awesome. We always come here when we're in town. Recommend.

Warm bread, cold martini, delicious prime rib, friendly service and live music... what else could you want?! Thanks, Outlaw!

THE FOOD: The Traditional Breakfast was excellent. The standout element was the bacon--thick-cut, generous, and perfectly cooked. The eggs and potatoes were spot on, and the sourdough was great. I also ordered the kids' French toast sticks, which were made from a great "fat bread," dusted with powdered sugar, and served with 100% pure maple syrup. The cappuccino was also top-tier, with a perfect espresso pull and velvety foam. THE SERVICE & VIBE: While the food justifies the premium price tag ($30 for breakfast), the service infrastructure really lets this place down. You have to look at the menu, order at the counter, and pay/tip upfront before you even sit down. They blame "staff shortages" for why you have to get your own water and eat off paper plates with plastic forks, but for a $30 meal, the all-disposable setup feels cheap. The biggest issue is the hospitality. I wasn't greeted when I walked in because staff were talking to each other. The gentleman taking orders was a bit cold and dismissive. Worse, when I went back up to ask for a second container of maple syrup to finish my French toast, the girl at the counter was visibly annoyed and rude. She told me they would bring it out, but it never arrived. THE BOTTOM LINE: Prompting guests for a 15-20% tip before they even eat completely removes the staff's incentive to take care of you. Go here for the outstanding food, but lower your expectations for the service. Will I tell my friends about this place and go back? I sure will. I'll tell him about how good the food is and about how the service was and about the tipping.

The ordering process is simple: grab a menu when you enter, find a seat, and place your order at the counter when you're ready. The staff was professional, polite, and welcoming throughout our visit. The breakfast burrito was outstanding, easily the best one I had during my time in Colorado. It was perfectly prepared, complete with beautiful panini-style grill marks that added both texture and flavor. I was also impressed by the extensive selection of hot sauces, with options to suit just about every taste. In addition to the food, they offer a great selection of local craft beers. Unfortunately, it was only 9:30 in the morning, so I wasn't able to take advantage of that part of the menu! One of the highlights is the large window overlooking the mountains surrounding the town, providing a beautiful backdrop while you dine. This is the kind of place that makes you want to linger a little longer, and I will definitely return the next time I'm in the area.

We walked in the door and was warmly greeted by the only guy we saw working there. He was grinding up coffee, which smelled really good! We read the sign that said to take a menu, pick a table, then go to the counter and order your meal. We went to the counter and the friendly guy. Let us smell the copy that he was grinding. We then placed our order for one brisket entrée, and one salmon entrée. Then we asked him about splitting a Caesar, and he said sure. After paying for the meal upfront, he pointed us to the table where we could pick up our napkins, utensils, and get some water. This is a very self service place. That's fine. There was only one other couple in the restaurant that had gotten there before us so they were not busy. About 15 minutes, went by and we wondered if we were ever going to get our Caesar salad. A few minutes later, our food was served to us, including a small Caesar salad that was not split. We quickly mentioned with surprised that oh the salad comes out with the food? Our server smiled and said: enjoy. We eat out quite often and we can rarely think of any time that a salad came out with the meal. It's designed to keep you happy and give you something refreshing to eat while they're back in the kitchen cooking your meal. We figured when they came out to check with us, we would mention that it was too late and could they remove it from our bill. However, the entire time we ate our meal, no one ever came to check on us. The gentleman we ordered from along with a lady chatted the entire time at the counter as we were eating. They only passed by our table after a patron came in looking for something he thought he might've left there earlier. When she came and asked to clear our plates, I asked if that's typical that the salad comes out with the entrées because we no longer want the salad. She said she was sorry that our server didn't ask if we wanted it early or with the meal. Then she took our plates away and left the Caesar salad sitting there. It's really too bad we had such a poor experience as we were planning to come back for breakfast in the morning, based on the reviews. It's funny because on our bill, it's listed as an $11 "starter" Caesar salad. My husband said his brisket was average, a little dry, except when he got a good fatty part. The potatoes and the vegetables were good. My salmon was just slightly overcooked, but very delicious and I really enjoyed the taste of my meal. For us, customer service is as much a part of the experience as the food. Judging by the reviews, this hopefully is a one off.
