Predictably tasty and fresh. Good service. Pleasant atmosphere. Nice gluten free options.

The restaurant was dirty the staff was sort of ok but they can't clear a table and wipe it off at the same time causing them to set people at tables for more then 2 causing parties of 3 or more to wait longer then parties of 2 Then it took over 30 mins for us to get food we had to ask for drink refills and didn't even get hot sause that we asked for for our food had to ask a different waitress for the check and boxes to go Coming over with a fake smile after talking to all the other guest and asking how thir food and everything was and not saying a word to us then dropping off our check which I had to ask for with a smile is like a slap in the face !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WILL NEVER EVER RETURN TO THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN!!!!! read more

The idea was great for the Hawaiian pancakes. I just was not all in on the taste. Good size for the pancakes, but there was not enough coconut or pineapple. I will definitely be back, as the menu was large with a ton of options. read more

I went with a friend. It was my first visit there. It's a small place only open til 2. I ordered the ham and cheese on a croissant. It was very greasy, smashed and came with greasy potatoes. The menu seemed to be very heavy on grease and sugar. I couldn't eat much of it. We were the last to leave. You have to take your check to the register. My friend paid first. When I went to pay, the total was almost $5 more than my check read. The woman didn't look at our checks. She had just rung up the last two checks that were open on their system. When I spoke up, the woman just said " your friend owes you $4 or $5." No apology. I didn't make a big deal out of it, but I will never go back. The whole experience was gross. read more

Ate at The Original Pancake House in Montgomery and was really impressed. The French toast was absolutely delicious--perfectly cooked, soft on the inside with great flavor. I highly recommend getting it with fruit because it was incredibly fresh, sweet, and flavorful, and it paired so well with the French toast. Everything tasted high quality and made for a great breakfast experience. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to. read more

My family and I have been coming here for years. My niece and nephew were young when we started. They are both out of college now. The food is always good and they continue to be consistent. The pancake variety, french toast, omlettes, bacon, potatoes and strawberries with cream are all delicious. My server was kind and attentive. It's an old school establishment. It's clean and comfy. I am not sure why so many bad reviews, I literally have never had an unkind server. I will always come back. read more

One of the go to brunch places in the Cincinnati area. The Montgomery location is a lot harder to get into than the Beechmont location. And I also believe their portion sizes are smaller than the Beechmont location although it's still a lot of food. It's a decent price and their pancakes are amazing. read more

Great food all around. The potatoes with cheese and peppers are incredible. Fair prices and old fashioned feel inside

Tried to come here a few time but the lines have always been out the door. I got lucky today was able to get in and sat in about 15 minutes. The food staff was nice and friendly and or waitress Catherine J was very attentive and kept checking on our table. The restaurant is nice and cozy like a comfortable regular spot to want to have brunch. I ordered the swished pancakes with the loaded Texas potato's. The pancakes came with a Lingonberry, it was my first time trying the sauce and I must say that it was excellent. read more

Been here many times. On weekends it's packed, so get there early. The food is amazing. The Dutch Boy is a specialty, but any pancake they make is going to be delicious. I was just there last week, early morning and it wasn't so crowded. I was in and out in no time. Wait staff was very friendly. Highly recommended read more

First time here with local friends for breakfast. Interesting place with an old fashioned diner vibe. The four of us ordered the same thing. The strawberry waffle and the Original Egg Michael. The latter is a really good variation on eggs Benedict except that the sauce is a sherry mushroom gravy that goes really well with the poached eggs and the potato pancakes. Service was attentive (she kept the coffee coming) and the side of bacon one of us got was very good as well. Prices are competitive, plenty of parking up front. Don't let the humble ambiance distract you. They serve an honest breakfast. read more

We hadn't been here in YEARS and were excited to return. Mark and I are not small folk. I'm here to tell you there was no way we were fitting into one of the booths. Thankfully there were plenty of tables available. Crisis averted! Our server was super nice and helpful. I thought for certain I'd get something sweet. I mean, it's a pancake house, right? Instead, I ended up with The Original Eggs Michael, which is an English Muffin, sausage patties and poached eggs topped with a sherry mushroom sauce. It was served with four thin potato pancakes. Everything was delicious! I loved the mushroom sauce on the eggs and the potato pancakes, although thin, were perfect. It was a deliciously light meal. It could have been hotter, but it was still quite good. Mark had a traditional Eggs Benedict. He enjoyed it very much. read more

Just not what I expected. Service was slow and food was "ok". Not terrible but just not my cup of tea....or pancakes.

One of the best breakfast spots in Cincy. From the delicious hot steaming coffee to absolutely everything on the menu. I love love love The Original Pancake House. Wow. Strawberry Pancakes are the absolute best ever. read more

The food was good. Our waitress was nice (which is unusual for this place), others were not so nice. It took over 50 min. to get our food. They said they were short a cook. We started asking 45 min. after we ordered. They weren't that busy. It seems that it is always slow and not friendly or nice service. Surely, they could find more amicable wait staff. I only go back because my brother, who is from out of town, likes to eat there when he visits. read more

What a DISSAPOINTMENT! The place is simply dirty. From the disgusting vents in the ceiling to the water-stained ceiling tiles to the dust visibly collecting on the ceiling fan blades. The booth seat was torn open and simply worn out. My food as well as my wife's food was not correct, and my daughter's had hair in it. The girl at check-out (the face of the business) was miserable and appeared to hate her job. While paying the bill there was no "How was everything?" or "thank you for coming." - just a monotone "do want your receipt?" The only good things were Sandy the waitress and the coffee. Do yourself a favor and go to the Beechmont Ave location instead! read more

If you're expecting the same experience as the Anderson Original Pancake House think again. The omelets are overdone and incorrectly garnished. I'm not talking parsley here I'm talking marinara instead of salsa with no one who cares enough to fix it. You are unlikely to get all your food unless you remind the server after they think they've delivered it all. You will not get a refill on a drink and we finished our pancakes without the luxury of syrup. The sticky container on our table was pretty low when we got here. It's hot in here and bizarrely loud for a breakfast restaurant. I gave 2 rather than 1 star because the food is sometimes pretty tasty if you can get it although nowhere near as tasty as Anderson location. read more

Food is always great, in person and take out. Love the French toast and my son swears the orange juice is better than other places

I discovered this chain a few years ago and was delighted because I can't get gluten-free pancakes just anywhere. And theirs are very good. I stopped again on my way down to Mardi Gras this year and had a great breakfast. I really like this location, even though it is a pretty long drive from my house...very worth the wait. The inside decor has a homey feel to it, and the ceiling over my booth was painted with a tree and sky (picture attached). I only eat pancakes when I go on vacation, and this was the perfect Mardi Gras kickoff breakfast. My server was Kelly W. Very sweet lady who delivered perfect service. She took the time to talk to me a bit It's such a treat to have pecan pancakes if you can't eat gluten, and these were fluffy and delicious and covered in powdered sugar. Just a suggestion - if they bring out the tropical syrup try it first to see if you like it. At another location, I poured it all over my pancakes not knowing it was maple and ruined my food. They automatically bring it here too, but she switched it out for regular maple. I had eggs scrambled on the side, fluffy and delish. The bacon was very good too. Really great food for less than twenty bucks. Convenient location too with ample parking. If you're GF and craving pancakes, you won't be sorry you stopped. If I had any complaint it might be that I wish this location had the coconut GF pancakes. I got those at a different location and they were the best I'd ever eaten. read more

Absolutely despise this place wildly outdated seating takes upwards of 40 to 45 minutes even with a reservation and you can tell the staff does not want to be there in our agitated with the large crowds My food had mold on several items and bacon was burnt. Food was excellent but hostess and call in for wait list is a joke. We called in and were put on wait list, only to be told when we arrived that it's not fair to other guests waiting...who didn't call ahead, for us to be seated before them. Then don't have call in wait list??? The hostess was indifferent and couldn't care less. read more

This place is so so good for gluten free pancakes! Dare I say they are the best in the city??? If not the best, they are in a photo finish with Toast & Berry(Liberty). After going GF, I never thought I'd have pancakes that tasted like this again that didn't upset my tummy. I was wrong. Go! There is usually a wait on weekend mornings, but it has always been worth it to me! Judging by the line, others feel this way too. Eggs and potatoes meet all my requirements. Other stuff im not sure. Check it out for yourself in the homey old styled dining room with the kindest servers. If you haven't been, take this as your sign to go. read more

Decided it had been a few years since we had gone to The Pancake House and we always enjoyed it when the kids were young. There is always a huge wait but not so sure why now? The only thing I can say is it's gone way down hill. Eggs slimy, potato's tasted old not fresh, pancakes a lot smaller than I remember. I would say we prob won't be back - just not with the money or time. Very loud and hard to even have discussion. Sad, it really used to be a good place. read more

HORRIBLE PLACE. Don't waste your time or money here! Everything we tried was genuinely awful. The pancakes were tiny and basic, there's nothing "original" or special about them. For a place called "The Original Pancake House," it was beyond disappointing. The coffee mugs were sticky, which immediately gave off a bad impression. The scrambled eggs were undercooked, the bacon tasted like it came straight out of a microwave, and the potato pancakes were absolutely disgusting. This place is a far cry from a good breakfast spot. I don't mind a greasy diner breakfast place...sometimes that hits the spot, but this place is NOT IT. Save yourself the disappointment and go somewhere else! read more

Yes just yes! This restaurant was so good! We had to wait in line for awhile but it was worth it. Almost every menu item comes with pancakes and you can upgrade depending on what kind you want. My brother and I got the banana pancakes and the upcharge was only $1.50. Definitely worth it. It also comes with a tropical topping that you can add but I didnt particularly like it. For my main meal, I got the corned beef hash. The hash is a hearty and tasty, our freshly prepared corned beef is served with two eggs. It was so good! This restaurant is simple but the food is above and beyond. I can't wait until next time I'm in town to go again. read more

We go there with our girly company from time to time for breakfast. While the location is great and very convenient with plenty of parking, be ready to hear that they do not have some options like egg whites or some other things that are still on the menu. We love cherry crepes, they are delicious, mandarin crepes are good as well. Omelettes are very big in size cooked with 4 eggs in the oven. Generally all the food is very heavy in calories so be aware what you are ordering. This place could greatly benefit from adding more healthy options. read more

We're seated and asked the server no less than 7 times to place our order. Server kept ignoring us and walking away. (acknowledging everyone else around us) Had to remind her to bring our drinks several times. Food was great as usual. Unfortunately, we don't visit this location nearly as often as we might. Generally get the older server with short red hair. She is always rude, slow, and doesn't listen to her customers. We've got friends that avoid this location as well, because of the risk of getting her as a server. Too bad that one server can so negatively affect a restaurant with such good food. read more

The waitlist is a joke since even though you're on the waitlist they still make you get in line to wait. What is the point of the waitlist if you just have to get in line? They serve fresh-squeezed orange juice but can't even bother to strain out the seeds. You'd think serving a choking hazard liability would be a concern. Food is okay and service is generally spotty. read more

I've been here years ago in south bend but was excited to come back- I remember them having huge portions and that is definitely still true! All the omelettes come with 3 pancakes- whaaaat?!?! Best combo ever. They even had gluten free pancakes and they were delicious!!! Some places offer GF pancakes that taste GF- these were the best Ive had out to brunch. The omelette (as expected) was huge and delicious. The menu says the omelettes take 18-20 minutes but I don't think we waited that long. We also got a side of potatoes which were easy to share with 3 of us with leftovers, especially with all our other food. We are from out of town so may not be back to this location but will be back to original pancake house! read more

The Original Pancake House is a go-to breakfast spot with so many options and great food! We came in on a Sunday morning around 11:00 and only had to wait about fifteen minutes to be seated, but there were definitely people after us waiting longer. They do not take reservations and didn't allow us to join the waiting list over the phone, so be prepared to wait at least a little. They are a bit understaffed so it feels a little hectic, but the food is worth the wait. We got two Dutch babies, a 2 by 4, and the strawberry waffle. The food came out fairly quickly and was all very tasty. They give you very generous portions and it is not overly expensive. The service is not the best I have ever seen, but they were all working hard despite being understaffed. As a pancake lover, these pancakes are some of my favorites and they have tons of options. We will definitely be returning soon! read more

I went to the pancake House today on 10 five 2024 at 7:54 to pick up my order first off. The pricing online is totally different than the pricing in the store. I was told by the young lady at the cash register named Lexi told me the Pricing was not updated and she told me that I had to pay the pricing that was in the store and not online. then I get home and the order is totally incorrect. I got blitz crêpes with no strawberries. I was charged for two extra syrups when syrups come with the order I looked at what I got my husband now order was incorrect so I called and I was told that Amy, who is the manager was too busy to talk to me, but you took my money gave me an incorrect order but too busy to talk to a customer that truly has a complaint so tell me what world this happens. Please don't go here. I am very upset that I was not heard and that I was blown off by the manager. read more

The Original Pancake House in Montgomery is very close to my house and I have been here dozens of times over the years. Today we chose TOPH as our Day 5 selection of our 24 day Advent dining calendar for greater Cincinnati. What my family and I really like about The OPH is the wide range of breakfast options they have, including blintzes and other specialty items not found anywhere else. The Dutch Baby is this wonderful oven baked German delicacy that is to die for. They have all manner of egg-based dishes (4 egg omelettes, eggs Benedict, etc) as well and do offer gluten free pancake options. Their coffee is always fantastic. The OPH in Montgomery is very popular so there is a good chance you will have to queue in a line for your table unless you pick wisely your dining time. Today we were seated immediately, but it was at 10:45 on a Monday. The food is unique enough and good enough that it is worth the wait. read more
