We went there once after my father had been there a few times. It was good but not unique. We all came out feel like we wished we had gone elsewhere or to one of our usual places. It wasn't busy at all (kind of in a bad way). It was quiet. The server was friendly. They only serve beer and wine. I don't think I'd go back, but I think they would be worth trying. Omega Grill is my new favorite in the Woodlands area. Truly great food; outstanding service & priced well! On my 2nd visit, both Sawyer & Brendan remembered me & thanked me for coming back. It's obvious how much they love their jobs & the food they serve. I was just in last night & once again Sawyer welcomed us back along with Tasso (sp?). Great service from both. Everything that I have had is delicious & they'll wrap up anything to go also. I haven't tried brunch yet but Sawyer was highly recommending it so it's on my list for the weekend. We just found this place and will be adding into our rotation! We went for a late lunch and had no problem getting seating or parking. We loved the giant corner booth (and I thought the bathroom was really clean & nicely decorated!). The staff was super friendly and the price was right! Our party started with the chips & queso - the fresh chips were super good! The queso was thick and topped with fresh jalapeños. We also tried the fried pickles and fried jalapeños - the pickles were perfect with house made ranch! The jalapeños while pickled were seeded and spicy! We ordered the shrimp and grits, 44 burger with Munster, Fork & Knife chili dog, pineapple chicken sandwich, kids grilled cheese, and chicken tender basket. My kids didn't love the chicken strips, but we thought they were pretty good! We got one with the captain crunch batter - it was fun to try but I wouldn't want a whole order of it. It was a sweet flavor. The grilled cheese was good, but my daughter refused to try it because of the white cheese. *eye roll* everything else was pretty good! Came here with a few friends on a Monday afternoon. Everything about it was just alright. The ambiance is just a typical diner, nothing fancy or special about it. I got the Omega Club Sandwich with grilled chicken and it was good enough. Our waiter was super friendly but I think he forgot about us when it was time to bring the check, we waited a pretty long time before he came over again. Came here for a family dinner on a Tuesday evening, it was honestly one of the best dinning experiences I've had in a while. Service (Chandler) was top notch, and attentive. Everything is priced reasonably, and there are so many delicious options to choose from. I personally ate some of everyone's plate ! I enjoyed the fact that there wasn't a floor manager pretending to be working, asking me every ten minutes how everything is, that's the most annoying thing at restaurants. We came in a group of 10, and food took 25-30 minutes to arrive for all of us. I tried the chicken fried chicken with jalapeno sauce. It was excellent - tender and juicy with a relatively light crust, but probably not the best I've had. Value was moderate - most entrees were in the $10+ range, though there were various options under $10. Our general consensus was that this is place rates between 4-5. Typically I do not order beef entrees but I was lured into trying their short ribs because it came with Gouda grits. It was most definitely worth the try. The grits were creamy and Gouda is a great cheese that has a smoky flavor. The short rib was good and tender. No longer living here but visiting and we had to come for the terrific food. Glad to say it's still great! Two of us started with cream of spinach and crab soup. It was delicious. We could taste the spinach and the crab. Creamy, smooth with a few pieces of crab meat and topped with scallions. A mound of toasted croutons on the side came with it. One burger and fries pronounced great as was the lamb burger and a side of onion rings. Asian chicken salad was terrific with raspberry vinaigrette and the fourth was a cheater salad: fried chicken and blue cheese on greens with jalapeño ranch dressing. All diners very happy. The food is delicious & the staff is amazing. They care about you & if your food is to your liking. We were nervous when we pulled up & hardly anyone was in there but were immediately put at ease by the hostess & our waiter. Definitely going back! Not much to look at from outside, but inside is spacious with tables laid out where you're not on top of each other. We were sat immediately and the service was great. The wings are different. They bake them first then fry. The hot sauce had good flavor with a decent kick. Just the right amount of sauce and meat was very tender. Daughter had the chicken fried steak and it was good. The fried mushrooms were great, just the right amount of batter, with a very large serving. The chicken salad was good, the greens fresh, larger than expected. The pot pie was one of the best I've had in a restaurant, the sauce was much richer and creamier than the typical clear broth that some restaurants serve. The service was efficient and polite, The only negative to note is that our entries were served before we finished the appetizer. I'm seriously disappointed by my bowl of chili I had today. I've dined here before and ate the meatloaf place. It was awesome. The staff here is of the opinion that leaving whole bay leaves in the chili is fine and normal. I wonder what would have happened had I missed it and swallowed it. Heimlich maneuver? To add insult to injury, the manager didn't think it was a big deal and walked away. If a customer has a problem in any other restaurant I've dined in, the staff offers to knock something off the check or comp a desert to the customer. Stopped by for lunch on the way to Lake Conroe. Overall a neatly decorated restaurant with clean bathrooms and fairly quick service. One star down for the spicy shrimp poboy - nothing too special, too much bread for the amount of shrimp on the sandwich. Portion size was large, but I really ended up eating the shrimp and left the bread on the plate. I do like their spicy sauces that are offered in some of the other spicy dishes. Try the blueberry habanero sauce. However, I probably wouldn't return when nearby. read more

First off, the positives: Sat immediately. Place was empty at 4pm, which a common slow time. Lots of parking available at front door Server was very nice and attentive. Another person, possibly manager, came over to ask for a 2nd option to burger bun since they were out of the one we ordered. He was also very nice and accommodating. I ordered the carnivore at first, steak salads are my #1 fav. But after seeing pics on yelp, I changed to the blackened catfish with cheesy grits. The pic looks very good. The fish looked perfect but had zero flavor how can blackened be bland? And same for the grits. No cheesy flavor and consistency was more like cream of wheat. I had to add salt and pepper 4 or 5 times to taste anything. My husband got the busin burger with blue cheese, mushrooms, and jalapeños. The blue cheese was amazing but the bison was overcooked and tasteless. The cheese saved it 100%. There could have been cardboard under that cheesy and you'd never know. To be honest, the menu just didn't seem all that impressive besides the build your own burger options. Everything else is fried and smothered and fried again. I am seriously shocked by the overall rating on yelp. But I guess everybody has "off" days... I don't think we'll be giving it a 2nd try. read more

I think this is the Yelp review I have been dreading most. The Omega Grill routinely tops my list of places I want to love and just can't quite. But today was the first time I've been in since I've started using Yelp...and coincidentally, today they were pretty much in top form. The breakfast burrito was pretty good and, at $10, was no great value...but didn't feel unreasonable. Service was adequate, but not exceptional. Apparently out of salsa (which ostensibly they make in-house) they did offer me hot sauce, but didn't call out the wide selection, which they do have. The side caesar, which I added to my entree, would have been better with a more flavorful dressing and fewer capers, but the $3 price point made that forgivable. For today I'm going to call this a soft 4. Not yet delivering on all of its potential, but good enough to make me want to come back. read more
