Based on a recommendation from my brother-in-law we tried out this dive bar in Ft. Wayne. Loved the hole in the wall feel! Basic bar menu but two nights a week is steak night. The Friday we were there was one of them. I got the filet mignon and mashed potatoes & my husband got the ribeye and fries. We love steak and have eaten at some nice steak houses over the years and I have to say for a bar the food was pretty darn good! Steak was cooked well and seasoned well. I would definitely go back; would like to try their burgers. One complaint- not a lot of beers on tap and the service was slow. That's why I gave them 4 out of 5 stars. read more

The staff doesn't like new people coming to their establishment. Don't go if you're a newbie, you'll immediately feel like you're not supposed to be there and feel very unwelcomed. We had a group of 6 people who were extremely excited to try this place, especially the steak. This review won't do it justice as it's hard to put into words how awkward and uncomfortable the staff made us feel. Long story short, there were 2 empty tables that we asked if we could push together and they said no because they were not next to one another (completely understandable). We then asked a small group at a table, who were done eating and just hanging out, if we could buy them a round of drinks and we'd swap tables so we'd be able to seat our group together. The people at the table were so kind and said, "yes, absolutely." The rude waitress and bartender quickly ran over, yelled at us, told us how wrong that was of us, and continued to berate us saying it's not okay to do that (even though the people at the table kept saying it wasn't a problem at all). Our party quickly went up to the bar to buy the table a round of drinks, as we decided it'd be best if we just left, and the bartender wouldn't allow us to buy the table a drink because they said they don't serve people like us (we weren't buying for us, we were buying for the kind people at the table). We ended up just giving the table cash to pay for their drinks and we left as we were not trying to cause a scene or any commotion. I honestly can't get over how outwardly mean and vocal the staff were to our group. We've never been treated that way before by any staff at any location. We went over to The 07 Pub and had the best time, with the kindest staff, and amazing food. read more

The server tonight discriminated my sister calling her illegal because she didn't like her ID and was saying it was fake. It's an Indiana issued ID. She proceeded to kick her and her group of friends out. read more

Great bar with great service. They have a huge variety of drinks and craft beer. There are steak specials several days a week, but the wings were huge and the burger looked delicious. Bar tenders are willing to experiment and make fun new drinks for you to try. Ask for Carla because she's the best! read more

Best burger in the business, tavern is famous for a tasty burger. Good other good to. Good place to come and get your eat on son. Local place off Brooklyn, nice little dirty neighborhood, with authentic red necks and Mexicans taking over the street. Me like the food here though and them waitresses looking like they need free mustache rides. They little snooty, but they are at the tavern, best burger out there. read more

Went for steak night on a Friday. My wife and I each had a filet mignon, baked potato, and side salad. Everything was tasty. I don't think I've had a steak that good for that low of a price anywhere else. The bar is kind of loud and a little bit of a dive, but worth it for the food. read more

Came back again to see if the steaks were more flavorful without adding A1 or Heinz 57 and they were. However, the wait staff service was not good. Additionally, the steaks used to come with choice of two sides, now everything is ala carte. If it is a good steak for the value and the service was tolerable for the cost of the steak; however, if you raise the prices, you should train the staff to be friendlier and attentive. Recently, I tried the breaded pork tenderloin sandwich which was tasty and a bargain at $5.95. Again with the new menu, the price of the tenderloin was raised to $7.99. Is it worth the price raise, perhaps; however, do not expect anyone to ask you how it was and if you need anything else. A side note: The poor condition of the water in the Women's bathroom needs to be really questioned. If employees are supposed to wash their hands after using the restroom, how can they with the trickle of water that is provided. Someone should question the health standards there. If you don't mind bad service with a decent steak (despite the higher price) then go. I won't be going back again. read more

Hand-cut steak dinner with choice of sides was a good deal. Tasty steak; however, could use a longer marinade bath or have other steak sauce besides A1 and Heinz 57. Loss of points/stars for inattentive waitress. We went back two weeks apart, steak was tasty still needs a bit more seasoning. Different waitress; however, still disappointing service. Not once were we asked if everything was good or if we needed anything, forgot our flatware, no additional napkins, forgot our butter, did not ask to refill drinks. Additionally, an itemized bill would be good. We did stay for karaoke and it was great fun! We will return again; hopefully, the servers will be a bit more attentive and friendly. read more

Place is a dump I have ate there numerous time before coming to this conclusion. First off they forgot to put our order in 3 TIMES sat for over 1 1/2 hours watched people arrive and depart they never offered to make right 4 TIME told them were they could send the food. Actually don't let the cover judge the book ! Little gem in ft wayne Office tavern has a limited menu that is done very well. Fresh cut steaks on Monday and Friday evenings. Good quality sandwiches are available. Most of all the staff care about the customers. Break out of the routine and try this out read more

Awsome wings best in town you will find they make thier own wing sauce, sweet and spicy, they dip them and grill the wing, OMG!!! delicious!!! steaks are awsome too!! bring yuoor pocket book fat but they are very worth the price! i have had no complaints on the food or service been goin there 10+ years always good people in there and BIKERS are always welcome front row parking!!! read more

This is a friendly little neighborhood bar with good drink specials and food, and great steaks on Mondays. They have entertainment all week with karaoke on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday - blues jam on Tuesday - and open jam on Thursday. For the best first experience I would suggest Monday evening for a steak dinner and early (7-11) karaoke for those of us that still need to get up early. :-) read more

I will never step foot in this bar. It has been a good 5 years since I have been here. Me and a buddy stopped by for just a couple beers before I dropped him off at home (he lived 2 minutes away in Indian Village). We were inside for about 45 min or so, and had two beers each. During this time a FWPD officer was inside talking to the owner (or another person who worked there) which we thought nothing of at first. After we left, a cop coming down Brooklyn avenue did a u-turn and started to follow us down Nuttman. I was not speeding but he decided to pull us over and proceed to tell us that someone in the bar told the police that we were "sitting in our car for a long time". Granted, it was the dead of winter and bitterly cold, so warming up the car seemed like a good option. Anyways he runs our ID's and has me take a breathalyzer. Comes back, gives us our stuff back and tells us to have a good night. Never even told me what I blew. We got straight set up by the people at this bar. read more

There is no doubt that the steak can be good. As good as it was, the service and drinks were poor. When we spied a martini at the booth near us, we asked for two. We were told by the waitress that they don't serve them, that they "are just a tavern." When one of our party didn't receive her salad, the waitress argued with her saying that she never ordered one. When three others in the party politely corrected her, she replied, "well, I didn't hear her." The steaks were not cooked to order for two members of our party (well done and medium rare).
