The wrap barely had any chicken in it and the fries were good but the portion felt like it was for a child. The wings were a good size and the drinks were a good price. Service was quick and friendly. Parking is a little rough outside but usually open for street parking. Lots of areas and space inside. Food was decent for bar food, loved the fried pickle spears! Good place to go and hangout with friends. Everyone was friendly. Good service. The food was good. They have a back porch outside area. People seem to be generally loud but happy and cheerful. They have a good selection of food options. I had the chicken fried steak and a chicken wrap. Idk for sure what it was called but it was all very tasty. The bartender even made us a pot of coffee, which was awesome. Now parking was probably a little bit challenging but when there's a will, there's a way. So yes, I do recommend this place. read more

Quintessential local dive bar... Stopped by GFI for the first time to get a burger and beers on a Sunday. Pretty cool lil' place when you walk in... It's your traditional working class neighborhood watering hole that's well kept and nicely decorated. GFI has a good looking menu and decent tap beer selection. The burger and fries were awesome... Not quite on Henry's level, but it held its own. Plus, the food is really well-priced ($11.99 for a 1/2 lb burger with fries). The one knock on GFI was the service, which was not good. The bartenders/servers were friendly but were completely preoccupied BSing with the bar regulars... We were all but ignored other than to take our initial order (we prob would have gotten another couple of beers, but no one ever came back around again) - John Taffer would have had an absolute conniption. Really cool little neighbor bar. The interior is cool with brick walls and recently refinished hardwood floors. It is obvious that this is a destination for nearby residents and regulars, but I felt welcome walking through the door. Several newer TVs within view of the bar and the dining room area. Food was good--typical bar food--wings, burgers, tenderloins. Good selection of drinks on tap, bottled, and well drinks. I will definitely come back to watch some college ball this fall and winter. read more

Came in for lunch. No one really inside other than staff. It's dimly lit and there is kind of a smell to the place that isn't what I'd call pleasant but it also isn't immediately off putting either. The booth seats were springy and the tables were clean. I did enjoy the music selection of alt early 2000s and late 90s alt rock. This place is definitely a dive bar and I'd come back if that's the mood I was going for and didn't want any food, otherwise I'd steer way clear of this place. They have about 5 or 6 taps of various beer beyond your normal domestics which is nice and a full bar is available and a nice selection of bottle beers. I did not have any alcohol while here at this visit so I can't comment on quality there. The bartender was very nice though. Ordered some of their wings and a side of fries and my friend ordered a double smash burger with the potato soup. First the good: The soup was great per my friend. Also I found the French fries were nice: they were crispy and flavorful and reminded me of Rally's fries without as much fluff in the potato if that makes any sense. The ranch served with my wings and the sauce on the wings (the chipotle citrus) had good flavor. The sauce was a medium heat slightly sweet and tangy and very sticky. The ranch tasted possibly homemade or like GFS - not super mayonnaisey which I appreciate. The bad and why I would not eat here again: My friend's tomato on the sandwich still had the produce sticker attached to it. Did they even wash the tomato before slicing it? What about the rest of the toppings? I don't know but it was very off putting and my friend noticed it immediately after the waitress left. He did mention that it tasted good but appetite was a bit lost after the sticker. My wings were underdone. They were cold in the center on multiple pieces and I could not finish them. I asked to verify that they were at least fully cooked prior to frying and they did say that yes they were frozen fully cooked chicken prior to cooking. The cook apologized personally and tried to make it right. They offered to make me a new set which I gladly accepted. I was served another set of wings that were a bit crisper on the outside but alas the same issue persisted on the second batch. I ate just under 3 wings over both baskets in total because I didn't want to risk getting sick. The staff did not charge us for the wings or fries to make up for the issues we encountered and I do appreciate that. All of our issues were taken into consideration and no one got upset or aggravated. The service was fine, but something needs done about that kitchen. read more

We were visiting friends in the area who suggested this "neighborhood dive bar" for a drink. It was early evening on a Saturday night and the place was not very busy which is normally not a good sign. However, we were pleasantly suprised to be warmly greeted by the bartender. There are enough tvs to see no matter where you sit. While we only had beer, the sevice was prompt. They do offer food but we just had drinks. Overall the place was clean but has no parking lot per se. There is street parking and other lots can be utilized after hours. This place has a blue collar neighborhood vibe and is a real historic gem. I would describe it as homey and cozy. We will definately stop in again the next time we are in town. My wife and I went here tonight excited about the new ownership. I must say we were a bit disappointed. The owner was nice. Marshall was nice but unfortunately he was not our server. The server that we did get was not very good. He ignored us and talked to his friends the whole time we were there. My wife actually had to go up and tap him on the shoulder and interrupted his conversation with his friends so we can even get our order in. Marshall eventually took over the reins. The food is great. My wife got the grilled chicken wrap​, I got frog legs and chicken wings which were really good as well. The chicken wings were really big drumettes. They weren't ready to reopen. Took more than 10 minutes for someone to come to our table. The mozzarella sticks are from a box and the marinara was packaged. We ordered our food and our friends grilled chicken salad came out very quickly. We waited and waited until the guys working came over and said "were you looking at me? We asked where our food was. He went to check and finally came back and said our order never got put in. We didn't have time to wait anymore. I was lucky enough to watch one of the Green Frog servers in actuion back on February 16, 2020. I don't know who she is, but she is uh-mazing. I had made the trek up to Fort Wayne to have dinner with some old friends. Before I left to come back to Indianapolis, I popped in to catch a few minutes of my friends' gig here at the Green Frog. Since I had to drive home and couldn't stay long, I didn't order any drink or food. But I'm still confident giving five bright shiny stars to the server who was working on this night. She was so completely full of energy and was so genuinely warm and caring as she took care of every patron in the bar. I was transfixed on her as I watched her multi-task and joke around with the patrons, specifically at the bar. It was so effortless and not at all forced. People of the Green Frog, whether it be her coworkers or her patrons, are so lucky to have her. Give that woman a raise! read more

They are scared to take your order and get some food out to you. Weird place for sure. A lot of talking up in here and high prices on booze, small portions on food when they actually get the food to you. The food isn't half bad when you actually get to taste some. On a cold winter night, a birthday needed celebration. Four friends gathered at The Green Frog, only to see a the parking along the front filled. The four friends shiver-jaunted down one half a block, wondering whether the Green Frog would indeed guide them to a happier place. The Green Frog was dark, scene-y and intimate. We were four of twelve patrons scattered around the dimly lit bar, with a few more cosing up in the wooden booths along the old wooden wall. We warmed up in an alcove by the entrance, and then the night began. For the next four and a half hours patrons came and went, but we stayed. From "Dark and Stormy's" to "Beez Neez" to strawberry and bourbon concoctions to anything with tequila to anything with gin to Trappist beers, the liquor went down as the conversation did - smooth and effortless. Among a myriad of subjects, we talked about a weird acquaintance we suspect could be god, Pan's labyrinth, business school mania, sharks, and the realistic chance that there could be a fight club operating in a Calhoun street Chinatown basement. Time just flew by as if we were sitting in a living room on a lazy Sunday afternoon. That's when I knew that Green Frog was the beez neez. We ended up having a thirty minute conversation with the bartender/mixologist and the manager, both of whom are Fort Wayne natives. Should have known. No outsider can make you feel so much at home in the Fort. Turns out, he owns his own home, almost paid off(not a here today gone tomorrow) type. He just told us to text him for a reservation and sign off as "Them from The Green Frog.". Used to live in ft Wayne 8 or 9 years ago..... this was one of my favorite places..... my husband and I used to come here often when we were first dating...... had to fly into town for a family emergency so of course I had to stop in... if nothing else to make a sad trip a little better.... as usual not disappointed..... still my favorite wings... and I ve tried them all over the country.....the wings were still outstanding and i was really happy to see Beth behind the bar .... she was extra nice, helpful and did her job extremely well.... shes so good with her customers.... if she doesn't love her job she fakes it very well lol..... birthday party on the other side of the bar brought me cake... everyone in here is so nice and friendly.....definitely made my trip better.... read more

Good quality chicken wings. All the flavors were tasty and delicious! There is a Parking lot right around the corner if you can't find any streets parking. Reasons why I'm giving it three stars is because the place is tiny & the service isn't great. We went on a Wednesday for their 50 cent(??) wings and it took them an hour to bring out our foods. I basically got scared after that event and haven't been back ever since. Yeah the chicken wings are good but it is def not worth the wait. AND on top of that, the waitress brought out our orders and doesn't know which order belongs to whom. What the heck.... I'm done. read more

This has recently reopened under old/new owner Cindy Henry. When I say old I mean it as she previously owned it then sold it and now has repurchased it. With a few minor updates it's now reopened and the locals couldn't be happier. We went on a Friday night for AYCE fish and WOW WOW the best fish I've ever had. With their own coating the fish is fried lightly served with fries and some very tasty coleslaw with a sweet flavor to it. I'd order just a side of the slaw it was that good. The fries were meh at best but I didn't want those anyway. I wanted that fish. I had three servings of it and wish I could've eaten more. I will remember Friday for fish to eat there. What was sad is that hey didn't have malt vinegar and they didn't have much of anything else that I asked for and assured me it's on a list of things to order. I sure did miss that malt vinegar with my fish and was bummed. The outside sucks for parking and although they claim to have a private parking lot it holds two cars and their dumpster so park on the street. Inside it's still a dive bar serving awesome bar type food. The decor is old and the booths and tables are old and small to sit but still oddly comfortable. The dinning area isn't that big and I'll tell you this place gets busy. It also isn't a family friendly dinning room so leave those kiddos at home and have a date night. Drinks are kinda pricey. Beers were $4c and that was for a can of PBR. They also don't have margarita salt so I was served table salt around my rim. Not sure about liquor drinks but I'm sure it's a tad more than you'd expect to pay. If you've never been or haven't been in awhile GO GO GO. It's a great local place to be a regular. read more

First visit to the frog for brunch and I was pleasantly surprised. I had the eggs Benedict with my eggs done just a little more than traditional way-I don't like runny whites and they were cooked to my liking. The biscuits are homemade which is nice. They have a Bloody Mary but, but I opted for just a glass of the juice-it was perfect! I would highly recommend it. Growing up on this side of town, the Green Frog Inn was a mythical place that the grown ups would go to after school events or just because. I felt like I was truly becoming a grown-up when I first came to the Green Frog. Why the Green Frog? I don't know the exact origins of this name, but they do sell frog legs? Should you get them? Yes! They are wonderful and taste kind of like chicken but better. Plus, you win infinite bragging points to your friends that you ate frog legs and they did not. The Frog is an intimate dive bar that serves wonderful food and has good beer on tap. While there is a full bar, I say just go straight for the burger and beer combo. There are a lot of regulars here but as it is Fort Wayne, they are generally friendly and cool bunch. read more

Super great neighborhood bar. I say neighborhood but that means anyone living within 13,500 miles any direction from the GFI! That should cover everyone in our world. The owner Cindy and her son Ben make everyone feel right at home and as if they've known you for years. The service from waitresses like Marina will again make you feel right at home. The food they serve taste like homemade, their lunch specials are.. well, their special, the beer is cold and their mixed drinks are made with care. What a fun spot! Located just outside downtown, The Green Frog is a quaint, locally owned bar but here's the kicker, Sunday Brunch. So much fun, and delicious. For starters...the pastry board is a must. Bread pudding, cinnamon rolls, scones. Oh my! Delicious. Great to share. For my main meal I ordered the eggs benedict. The pork just melted in your mouth.
