I found "The Nook" via online reviews. I was looking for a place to eat in Middleville because I have never been and had a home that I was going to look at. Me and my mother and my 2 year old grandson arrived and took a seat. It was a small restaurant with only about 5 or 6 different tables. Sat down and looked at the menu. I heard that they have excellent eggs benedict so me and my mother decided to try that. I asked about a kids menu. They do not have one (1st issue). The waitress informed us that they do not have one but that they would "make it work with whatever he wants". Ok, so we order him a pancake, some potatoes, an egg and some milk. Then the bill came. 2 adults, 1 two year old child. $40.99!!!! I didn't even get a drink. My mother had coffee. Unbelievable. Make it work??? A two year old....his meal ended up costing almost $12.00. For a pancake, potatoes, an egg and a milk. Never in my life have I ever heard of such a thing!! And the food was mediocre. I am extremely disappointed. If you have children... DO NOT COME HERE!!!

Delicious cinnamon swirl French toast, sausage, and hash browns.

Food is always delicious! The sweet potato skillet is amazing! I have a hard time ordering anything different because it's always so good.

Great breakfast spot, small on the inside. But the food is amazing. And the staff has always been friendly

An excellent start to something when I hope is a new addition to the menu. Like most good poboys very good role and sauce and excellent meat. Alligator was cooked, very juicy and not too much breading. The opportunity to make this better and more long-term: add tomatoes! But also I heard somebody complain. It was too spicy. I didn't think so, but I recommend replacing the spicy pickles with some sweet bread and butter, pickles. Service is always outstanding. Special kudos to Johnny. He always ensures customers have what they need. Very appreciated.

Last night we went and it wasn't very busy but our server was running around, very frantic and kept forgetting things. when our food came out the sides were wrong and I mentioned it right away. The server said she would go get that fixed but by the time we were done with our meal the right side still hadn't come out yet and I told her to just take the up charge of the side off. My husband had gotten the cajun fish and it was cold, wet and no crisp. When my kabobs came out the bucket was even cold like it had been sitting out, the meat was tough, cold and just not good this time. $90 meal and very very disappointed.

Really don't think this should be a table option. Food was edible, nothing exciting. Staff started vacuuming right near us as we were eating. Went to drink my water and my lips met a spider on the edge of my cup. Had to spit it out. Staff was fine. There was a whole dispute with the party before us saying that they couldn't be seated if their whole party wasn't there yet, even though they kept a saying that they were all present.

The restaurant was not busy at all, and the booth we were in could easily have held four people, plus a chair on the end for our fifth. Despite this, they said no. I watched them seat another party with two adults and a high chair at the end of the table -- clearly the same seating arrangement would have worked for us, so it didn't appear to be a fire code or safety issue. We chose to give up our table and wait for a larger one. While waiting, we briefly brought our drinks to the lobby, but were told they couldn't leave the table, so we returned them and waited again. Awkward, but manageable. Once reseated, service was inattentive -- I was passed twice for a coffee refill even after trying to get attention. Not terrible, but noticeable, especially since it wasn't a busy morning. The food itself was good, and we enjoyed the atmosphere and our company. Overall, decent breakfast, but the combination of inexplicable seating rules and inattentive service makes it unlikely we'll return.
