The Arrows Restaurant is the best diner you will find in Hudsonville. It is staffed with happy and hardworking employees, they are efficient and friendly. The food is homemade and they have the absolute best onion rings I've ever had in my life! The soup and sandwich special is what I often get for lunch. They have the most delicious chicken salad toasted sandwich. Now, be aware, everyone is nice here... but this is farm country meaning: you will find mainly white older gentlemen in overalls and MAGA hats, you probably will be stared at if you look different (i.e. not white), and it's not uncommon to smell a gentle waft of manure around lunch time if they took a break from spreading that morning. Common questions I've been asked by other customers: "What church do you go to?" "That's an interesting book you're reading can you tell me about it?" We stopped at Arrows for breakfast on a Saturday around 10:00am. We were seated within five minutes and let me tell you, they know how to turn tables. Arrows is a clean, modern, up-classed diner. They have standard American fare at a price that is very fair! We ordered the Irish Benedict and the pecan waffle. Both were good... not great, but good. For the price, I was satisfied with the food. What really impressed me was the bussing staff. Our waitress was okay (I ran out of water and coffee), but she was kind and helpful. However, the bussing staff was crushing it. They were grabbing things for patrons, cleaning tables and unless you looked at them, you wouldn't have even noticed they were there! If you're in the mood for a fair priced, breakfast that will meet your standard American diner expectations, I would recommend Arrows. It's not exciting, but it was good, clean and fresh. read more

This place is a perfect hometown place to eat but tends to be more " cafeteria" style. The service was exceptional and I've never had better. Super friendly and on top of it Was with two others who all ordered sandwiches, I did a club they both ordered a BLT My club was good, lots of meat and bread was perfect. Their BLT's were just ok, burnt bacon and undercooked in other spots and usually a BLT should have more than two pieces on it. Maybe this is more of a a breakfast place? I had a breakfast burrito that while a little smaller had good flavor and I would certainly order it again. Service was great with my coffee cup always full. There was a wait when we arrived but they were very fast cycling through tables and what I assumed would take 20-30 minutes took maybe 5-10 so if there is a small line; don't be afraid to wait it out. Light and a bit chewy so they hold up to the syrup! The scramble was delicious! My only not so good, was the usual not crispy enough bacon. My guest had the B&G breakfast which was very good. We had been to this restaurant before and they have the best service of any breakfast location. My family and I have been going here for years. They have the BEST breakfast. Love all of the food I've had, but any of the skillets are the best. Very reasonable pricing & great portions. I also enjoy the coffee. Kids eat for $1.99 on Thursday nights! Can't beat that! They also have amazing homemade soup you can purchase (vegetable beef is my fav!) as well as fresh baked goods like giant cinnamon rolls. The service is great. We have been eating at this family restaurant for years and have always enjoyed the christian family background. Unfortunately, that isn't always true. They had the rib dinner this past weekend. We called about 8:30am to put our dinner order in to be picked up at 5:30pm. However, when we arrived to pick it up, they not only didn't have our dinner ready, they didn't even have are order. We spoke with a manager and her was degrading and rude. Telling us not to be upset, just smile? What? Are we getting our dinner we ordered? How long will it take? The manager, I don't know, I don't like to deal with angry people, and glared at us with his big smile. What? Since when is this acceptable or even respectful to your customers? Finally, the general manager came forward, sorry for the mistake. What about the other manager, when is this an acceptable practice to treat other members of the community like this. The general manager got our order again. We drove from Allendale, wasted our time for a whole new start to our order and never offered anything for our trouble. Not a roll, not some vegetables...nothing. This whole experience made us wonder if this is still the family friendly, christian restaurant we had enjoyed in the past. Wow! Would I recommend this restaurant? HIGHLY. My co-workers eat here regularly. They love the fact that you can get breakfast all day. That will be very important when the snow starts falling! Today, I visited for the Cherry Chicken Salad take out order. I don't have time for a sit down experience at lunch. First of all, I ordered from the wrong location. Didn't know they had two! I'm sorry Grandville. When I arrived at the Hudsonville location they immediately figured that out and the response was swift and very pleasant! The cashier alerted the kitchen. The owner came out and verified my order. He called the Grandville location and cancelled my mistake, and then sent me on my way with the most delicious salad I wasn't expecting. Mixed salad greens, mostly fresh spinach, I need this daily. They also make FRESH soups daily. Chili seems to be a staple on the daily soup board they said. I cannot wait to try the soups. A West Michigan icon, rainbow grill has and always will be our go to spot for breakfast and family gatherings. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is they are closed on Sundays (my favorite day to go out for breakfast!) and their menu could use a little refresh in terms of style and quality.
