To nest pantry... Nest pantry markets itself as "grab and go". More like "drab and slow". It took 42 minutes to get my order on Saturday with no apologies from staff for one sandwich. Online ordering was east and food was ready for pickup on time. I got the huevos rancheros burrito as a bowl. Pros: freshly made, good portion size cons: most of the dish was egg, very little beans and salsa in dish. Worst part was that the corn chips used were stale and hardly crunchy. I think the dish would be much better if avocado and/or sour cream incorporated, in addition to more beans and salsa. read more

Awful service. My girlfriend and I went in and were told where to sit and that we would be visited for a drink order in 5 minutes. We were then, promptly and rather pointedly, ignored. We were not given menus and had to grab our own. Both waitresses then proceeded to avoid eye-contact. After we had been sitting there waiting for 20 minutes, another couple were seated and attended to. After 25 minutes of waiting without being waited on we simply left. We were not unruly, unpleasant, or rude. After a previous enjoyable visit, this was a highly disappointing experience. Our treatment is hard to attribute to understaffing or their being overly busy. Probably will not return and will recommend others avoid. read more

I stopped in just to get a coffee and chose the medium roast. Unfortunately, it was awful. It had grinds in it and yet was so weak it hardly tasted of anything. I walked down the street to another bakery and got another; that one at least tasted like coffee, so I dumped theirs. I don't think I've ever done that before. I'm giving two stars because the food looked amazing and the staff was friendly. Hopefully it was a fluke and whoever was brewing just blew it that day. read more

The Nest Kitchen is Hanover's newest gem! Oh my goodness, GO TRY THE BREAKFAST SAMMIES! And the silky, moist, mouth watering pastries while you're at it! The breakfast sandwiches that we tried were savory, made with care and packed a delicious balance of homemade sausage, high quality cheese and your choice of delicious fats or veggies like avocado or organic greens. These breakfast sandwiches are HIGH quality and packed with wholesome flavor that tastes like a holiday. I really, REALLY enjoyed the BSK breakfast sandwich with savory and juicy maple pork sausage, perfectly cooked egg, Cabot cheese, and added avocado and sriracha. My partner had the raven and it had a super unique mix of spices that made for a very delicious sausage, egg and cheese based breakfast sandwich. We also tried the iced coffee and lattes, which were both excellent. The latte was creamy and perfectly made with no bitterness. Served hot and with no bitterness. I loved the coffee. Finally, the pastries are professionally baked, no doubt. The recipes are careful and thought provoking. The banana chocolate chip muffin used the highest quality chocolate and it was moist and rich but not overpowering. We will surely be back as the staff was polite and efficient as well. Dyno-mite! There's a small kids table in the back which saved our lives. The croissants were surprisingly tasty, better than My Brigadeiro although not as good as dirt cowboy. You know, I want to like The Nest. I've liked their parent restaurant (Blue Sparrow over in Norwich), the menu looks good, and a handful of the items I've gotten were quite tasty. But they are absolutely swamped, and quality suffers. Show up in person? 25-30 minute wait for food. Try to order ahead online? 45-75 minute wait, and many times, like today, the result is having to wait an additional 15 minutes for my meal, which, somehow, was both cold and incorrect (wrong cheese). If you're going to have moderately high prices and long wait times? Then the quality needs to be there. read more

I visited Nest for the first time in September 2021, when I didn't have time to wait for a table elsewhere. Such a wonderful surprise; it was literally the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had. This is a new spot in town. It replaced a beloved gelato spot but we are so glad to see a new cafe opening. We came on a leisurely Saturday morning, and were pleased to see their breakfast menu selection. I looove that they have spicy breakfast options. We tried their breakfast sandwich "the Regular" which features the combination of bacon, avocado and egg with sriracha served up on a crusty multigrain toast. So good! Then I had the huevos rancheros breakfast wrap - the egg was so fluffy and really hit the spot. Finally the coffee - we didn't expect to see their fancy espresso machines from Modbar. They produced an espresso shot that was rich and velvety and full of crema. I was so impressed and being a coffee aficionado I will definitely be stopping by this cool joint for my morning espresso. The vibe of this place is adorable (love their light blue aesthetic) and the employees were so friendly! So excited to come again! read more
