The "Friends" cafe of Hanover, NH. Quaint bakery tucked on School St. across the Six South St Hotel; this establishment provides fresh daily breads, breakfast pastries and a variety of delicious treats. WiFi service is available, follow through with some satisfying hot coffee beverages and cold drinks.

The best sandwich spot in Hanover! The Bertie Wooster or their Reuben are my go-to's every time, but you can't go wrong with any of their choices. The pastries in the case are just okay, but there's lots of competition in the area so I rarely opt for those. Their sourdough is perfectly crusty and every sandwich is generously packed with meat. You could easily eat the whole sandwich bc it's so so tasty, but they're super filling and could get you two meals out of it. It makes for an awesome study spot, and there's a small patio for an outdoor option. Street parking right in front. The line can get long but it moves quickly and is certainly worth the wait!

Nice little Cafe with good seating and atmosphere. Wife and I chose to split an éclair and combine with breakfast blend coffees. The ganache was tasty, pastry firm. The filling was creamy but a bit lacking in flavor. Not flavorless, just a bit weaker than expected. The coffee was excellent. Smooth served in a ceramic mug, makes you feel like you are visiting with friends. The young women behind the counter were very friendly and helpful and checked with us as they cleaned and stocked to make sure we were enjoying our visit. When in Hanover we will make sure we drop in again.

I enjoy their wares, whether it's at their storefront or in their booth at the Farmer's Market.

As tourists, this was a must see place! We loved walking through the store, checking out the baking…read morearea and then getting food at the cafe. The lattes were pretty standard and the pastries were a bit disappointing. The flavor profile of the focaccia was odd - corn, tomato, and spicy mayo. The croissant was extremely flavored but lacked a butter flavor. The service was quick and plenty of seating. Many small tables would be preferred to the long almost banquet table options.

I recently ordered a few à la carte items from King Arthur Baking's holiday menu and was delighted…read morewith the entire experience. I've tried several holiday menus around the region, and KAB is a clear standout. I ordered a baguette and vegetable quiche to round out my own meal, plus an apple pie and bûche de Noël for dessert. Pick-up was seamless. The café was bustling with happy customers carrying pastries and coffee, but the preorder station was just inside the door to the right. I gave my name, they confirmed the contents, and I was quickly on my way. The whole place has such a warm, upbeat vibe--bustling but never chaotic. The staff are fantastic: friendly, organized, and genuinely happy to help. Even on a busy holiday pick-up day, everything felt calm and well-run. The quiche came with clear heating instructions (which I really appreciate, as not everywhere provides them). It was fully cooked and only needed 20 minutes in the oven. The filling was light yet rich, and the delicate filo crust was such a lovely surprise. Not a single slice was left over! The apple pie was perfectly baked with a tall, flaky crust and well-balanced apple filling--lightly sweet, gently spiced, and sliced just right so each piece held together beautifully. This was also my first bûche de Noël, and now the bar is impossibly high. The dark chocolate sponge was tender and filled with real whipped cream and the perfect hint of brandied cherries--beautifully balanced rather than overpowering. The chocolate mousse frosting and thin ganache glaze were flawless, and the decoration (meringue mushrooms and sugared cranberries) made it truly special. I sincerely hope KAB continues their holiday menu every year, because I fully plan to cook less and order more from them. Everything was exceptional.
