Because every single thing about it is nice. The food, the service, the fact that it hasn't turned into a big shop selling crap and has rather stayed as a small shop selling good things. It is a shop that allows for buyers remorse only in the sense that you wished you'd bought more. I realise at this point that I should probably talk about the food but frankly that's been already so I won't bother. What I will say is that they have the best, most incredibly phenomenal chocolate brownies that the world has ever known. Also the coffee they sell is good stuff too! On another note the staff are perfectly wonderful. They are friendly, they are helpful and they actually seem to enjoy working there. Having said that, if I got to sit with chocolate brownies all day I'm fairly sure I'd enjoy it too :) You might wonder why I only gave 4 stars. The answer is that they don't appear to do macaroons any more, or at least they didn't the last time I went in. A small thing but a thing nonetheless.

I prompted, hoping for a little help. "No," she said with a shy smile, "Nothing like that." Argh! Then how will I ever find the jewel that is The Baking House should they ever up stick and leave the Point Village Market?! I mean, now that I'm hooked on that apricot loaf I've got no choice but to follow them like a lost puppy. While the PVM's baked-goods stall selection is vast, to be frank it's all very familiar. I've been spoiled for choice when it comes to my carb intake in the City Centre, and famers markets have always been a go-to for yeast-risen sweets with organic pedigree. Sure, I've supped my share of gluten-free treats but none have knocked me over quite like the unassuming fruit bread I picked up today from The Baking House's stall. It wasn't cheap, ringing up at 4 Eurons, and along with His pick of two muffins at 2.50 each, well... they're most definitely treats in every sense of the word. Still, that dense, chewy and fruity bread was worth every penny. And what's more, they've got savoury stuff on offer as well. If you're in the PVM next weekend make sure to stop in, you never know when they'll just up and vanish.

If you're dining in, you order at the counter and get a table number to place wherever you decide to sit. There's plenty of seating inside which is a plus. What I got: -Potato danish- savory; slight salty, crispy flakey layers. -Sausage roll- slightly salty for my preference, but has a very crispy crust and a meaty sausage in the middle. We went back a second time on our trip and got a few more pastries, all of which were very delicious. The pastries were hot, flakey, glistening, delicate, and perfectly sweet on both visits. I would definitely come back if I were to visit Dublin again.

I didn't wait more than 5/10 minutes. I grabbed a couple of different things for us to try -- the focaccia, morning bun, salted caramel roll, and the cinnamon roll. My favorite was easily the focaccia, which could compete with the best I had in Italy -- so good. The morning bun was good, but nothing crazy exciting. The salted caramel roll had to be the least caramel-y caramel roll I've ever had, but it didn't taste bad and the salted part was interesting (in a good way!). The Cinnamon roll was unique, which I appreciate. It had a big glob of cream cheese frosting (too much for me, but I imagine it would float a lot of folks' boats) and some orange flavoring! I quite liked the orange. I wanted to get a matcha to go, but they said they didn't have disposable cups. You could buy a 5 euro reusable one and then if you brought it back you'd get a refund... interesting, but I was leaving that day and wouldn't be back in the area. I can't speak to the ambiance because we were in and out, but it looked like they had a decent amount of space. All in all, I would recommend this place! For me it was a 4, but I'm sure for some it would bop up to a 5.

I ordered eggs Benedict and say down. Tables were not cleared and when the guy finally came round he took plates off but didn't wipe which meant I ate amongst other peoples crumbs, literally. Same guy gave me my food. Which included two grease covered cutlery pieces, one of which had food on the back. I asked for a new one. Eggs were ok but swimming in hollandaise sauce. Muffin is advertised as toasted. It wasn't. Spinach was hanging off the side of the plate. I also found egg shells in my food. Clearly they are trying to be upmarket but they don't deliver. Hire waiting staff and pay attention to presentation, eggs slipping around the plate is not impressive. Wouldn't go back again.

I came with my partner for breakfast on a Saturday morning. I don't think the staff could have looked more diasappointed that two paying customers had entered. There was nobody else inside at peak breakfast time- should have been an indicator to leave. Nonetheless, we ordered scrambled eggs on toast, adding sausage and bacon as a side. It's only happened a few times in my life where I've regretted paying for a meal, but as my partner handed the money over all I could feel was regret. Again, at this point we should have just cancelled everything and left. So I watched my 'scrambled' eggs get heated in the microwave and my 'toast' dehydrate in the oven. Seriously, how can you get TOAST wrong!?!? Our sides were forgotten and when we reminded a staff member, I then watched her put bacon and sausage in the microwave before serving if go us. Bacon should never be treated with such disrespect. Surprisingly, the coffee was not terrible, but I have had better. The breakfast was awful, just awful. Not sure whether this is a cafe or deli, either way I'm content not knowing because I have no intention of ever going back. Do yourself a favour and please, save yourself and go anywhere else! I even found myself thinking that I could get a better breakfast from the petrol station across the street.
